4 Chapter 4

The following day I could feel Hiro rolling out of his bed as I steadfastly remained on my throne, and I mentally had to remind myself that I needed to find more hobbies than trying to count all the loose rocks on my mountain as I could feel myself losing bits of my humanity in how boring it was to remain one of only two sentient life forms atop this mountain.

Although there were plenty of other forms of life dotting my mountain like goats, some mountain lions heaps of birds, and various other lifeforms all residing upon my body.

But I already held a bone-deep disdain towards the Yokai and other phantasmal creatures endlessly pounding at my barrier keeping the monsters away from my mountain. It wasn't just a gut feeling as during the night I was able to see beyond my mountain with my human forms eyes and saw a number of the Yokai I blasted off my back to terrorize the human village and it was only when Marissa and Reimu arrived that they were able to drive off the drove of angry and hungry Yokai that were feasting both on the flesh and fear of the humans within the village.

"And what did those two girls who finally did their jobs do after heroically saving the village?" I muttered and it was plainly obvious when I saw Reimu flying off later after talking to what looked to be some elders of the village with a massive barrel. "Probably sake that's just going to end up in the mouth of that Oni, Suika..." I growled at the thought of the priestess in charge of protecting the humans from the total deprivations of Yokai just saying fuck it and taking a barrel of alcohol to go get wasted rather than setting upwards or barriers around the town which she certainly was capable of with her half her skill set being around barriers.

Feeling how Hiro was coming through the door I schooled my expression and showed much less of the displeasure I was feeling.

"Hiro I have prepared your weapon..." I spoke grandly and then the marble ground rippled like it was disturbed water and in front of him, a large one-handed golden axe slowly pushed its way through the marble handle first and then as pushed past the length of the blade it hovered in front of him.

"This axe is based on the axe of one of the great heroes outside Gensokyo and he was famed for bringing low the heavenly Oni's who later fled here to Gensokyo, but this one is arguably stronger as with every sinful creature you slay with it will passively strength the lightning within the axe as well as make your body stronger. But be warned, should you slay an innocent being with that axe or even with it in the vicinity it will punish you will heavenly lightning and may even abandon you..."

I then went on to explain how the cartridges lining the back of the axe were basically ammo to use far more powerful lightning attacks that wouldn't draw from him and over the course of a day would reload five of the fifteen cartridges, so he had to be careful with the ammo.

"Now Hiro as your first quest I must tell you that last night some of the more monstrous Yokai led a massacre among the human village and about a quarter of the people are probably dead." Seeing his ashen face, I nodded showing I understood his plight as he gripped his axe in rage at the thought of his family and friends dying as with a quarter loss of a population it was certain that he lost someone he held dear in some way or another. "I have tracked one of the spider Yokai who managed to spirit away some children from the orphanage as Kiene was defeated by the waves of monsters."

"Is Keine ok!" Hiro shouted and I could only nod knowing how Keine was basically the most beloved figure within the human village as she selflessly teaches and protects the children in the orphanage and even ran the village school.

"Yes, although she was injured, she was able to walk herself back home to get treated though I doubt in her condition she knows that some of the children were taken after she lost consciousness in the battle. Either way, the children have obviously been written off having been taken by the Yokai into the Yokai forest and you are tasked to find and escort them back home as they will still be alive for a couple weeks at most." I ordered and he nodded solemnly at my basically God-given task to raid a spider Yokai's pantry.

"Go Hiro, I look forward to your adventure." I said showing a light smile and with a loud pop the young man was teleported right beside the barrier closest to the Yokai Forest and then I opened a quick hole in the bubble and launched the disorientated young man with a pillar of earth through it.

"Just as I thought..." I muttered seeing the earth pillar I used to launch Hiro through the hole I made in the barrier lose all cohesiveness as soon it passed by my mountain's conciseness, but Hiro on the other hand didnt lose the blessing's I gave him as well as his axe was still acting like a beacon to my senses so I would always know where it was unless he maybe went into Hell or something.

Thankfully the moment where I opened the barrier for a spilt second didnt get any attention as Hiro obviously wasn't ready for Yukari to drop a train or something on him from one of her gaps but nope, I could feel him already getting his shit together and running into the Yokai Forest to rescue the children.

I could only blink in surprise as I felt something different from the constant battery of spells hitting my barrier or even weirder things as Marissa's broom could contest as I felt an almost polite series of knocking hitting my barrier.

Looking towards the northern portion of my mountain I saw a pouting girl with green haired, wearing a green skirt and brown blouse or something with huge sleeves and a weird eye floating around her.

"Ah that's Koishi Komeiji the younger sister of Satori Komeiji. I wonder what she wants?" I wondered intrigued at the first person who hadn't just bashed their face into my barrier and had enough courtesy to simply knock.

With another loud pop my human form teleported right in front of Koishi making her yelp in fright and hop backwards. "Hey you scared me!" She pouted and pointed at me accusingly and I could only chuckle at how childish she looked.

"Yes, well I aplogize for that little miss now what can I help you with but be warned I shall not open my barrier as this is mountain is my very body." I explained and she frowned.

"Wait so if the whole mountain is your body, do you see everything upon the mountain..." She whispered looking embarrassed and blushing.

I could only shrug as what kind of mountain god would be if I couldn't see what was happening in my zone of influence. "Yeah, I can basically see everything if you go around my mountain." I acknowledged.

"Wah! it's a perverted god who is going to stare up the skirts of all girls who fly over him, I have to tell Aya to spread the word!" She screamed and blasted away leaving me mouth ajar and hand outstretch as though to beg her to stop and allow me to explain but her words and abrupt fleeing caught me completely flatfooted...

I could only wordlessly teleport into my cathedral and collapse into my throne and as I stared off into nothingness, I could only imagine what that damn tengu was going to write about me. I just hope it doesn't discredit me among the human village too much, though I don't know how much they care about their paper to be honest.

Finally, the only words that could match this situation passed through my mouth as I slammed my head through the back of my throne in frustration at my first Yokai meeting.

"Fucking troublesome Yokai..."
