53 Chapter 53 - Honored One

Everyone gathered took their seats while Yuuki stood close to Kyouka crossing his arms observing each and every chief. He would have impulsively challenged every single one of them without any regards to his safety if he was the same in the past.

However, he had already grown as a person and gained control over his dark impulses due to the influence of his loved one.

"Let us begin with the first unit."(Ren)

Yuuki's thoughts wander until an Old lady with graying hair with her hair tied into the back and dressed in the Anti-Demon Corps' uniform steps forward. Yuuki noticed that despite her age was capable of fighting him without any abilities with experience and her ability alone. Someone who fought countless battles will often have a sharper instinct.

"The first unit will be changing chief's"

She was the First unit vice chief, Rui Myouga, who was former chief but had passed it on since she was already too old knowing her days were numbered.

"I have stepped down from my role as a chief."(Riu)

"I'm sure you can still "dance", Rui-san."(Mira)

"Anti-Demon corps work is hard. It's better for the younger generation to do it."

Yuuki saw her put her hand on Konomi's head and said with pride.

"Greet them again, got it?"

Konomi quickly stood up and said.

"Yes! I'm Konomi Tatara!"

She then proceeded to give deep bow that Yuuki see that she was well trained and discipline but still has her impulses as high schooler that reminded of him went he was addict to fight.

"I'm a first year high schooler and still inexperienced. But I'm going to do my very best, so let's get along!"

"Konomi is my prized discipline, whom I trained thoroughly. She has the talent to become the commander in the future. That is without doubt."(Riu)

Her tone was filled with pride akin to a parent to their child achieving something unbelievable and seeing their brimming potential. Yuuki agreed with her statement, noticing how Konomi would be below or above his talent when he was Daniel from his previous life.

"Heh. As the older discipline, I can't let myself fall behind

"Well, even if you say so, I'll always be the commander."(Ren)

Yuuki noticed the atmosphere became chaotic the moment the position of commander was mentioned. Yuuki could see Bell was anxious and having a chaotic thoughts.

"I also have what it takes to lead everyone."(Yakumo)

'Why did commander Yamashiro call Yuuki-kun?'(Tenka)

"Many generations of the Azuma family have served as the commander."(Fubuki)

Everyone gave their proclamation to become a commander while Varvara remained quiet and continued to use her phone.

"Heheheh. Everyone is fired up. You're all very dependable. Well then, let's get to our main topic"(Ren)

*snap her finger*

She said with a smile that was obviously fake as she snapped her fingers and a hologram appeared showing Shikoku, Rairen, and Jouryuu.

Ren: It's about these enemies who call themselves "the eight gods of thunder".

"They look cute, but for their goal to be humanity's ruin…"(Yakumo)

"This black haired one is the one who trampled over the third unit…"(Ren)

Bell got scared seeing Shikoku on the screen.

"Auh.."(Bell)

"This huge one is the one who hurt the sixth and seventh unit."(Ren)

Despite her harsh words to her daughters, Fubuki felt great hatred towards them for hurting her two daughters glaring at the hologram.

"But this one was defeated by the 7ths unit's slaves.'

They all turned to Yuuki who shrugged it off and said.

"I'm sure he's still alive, they're tougher than they look, that's for sure like a bunch of cockroaches."

Yakumo seemed to giggle after hearing this and wink at him when she caught a glimpse of him looking. Ren nodded and said.

"The main takeaway is that the chief can defeat even these gods. If one of those eight gods comes, the chiefs are to work together. No exceptions, and no slacking."(Ren)

Everyone's gaze turns sharp and serious upon hearing her command.

"Alright! I will make sure to defeat them."(Konomi)

Ren: Nice response. That's the spirit. But... There's one unit that worries me"(Ren)

Ren turned to Bell as she felt her pressure weigh down into her.

"Bell. It's your fault the third unit faced such shame."(Ren)

"I... I'm sorry."(Bell)

"So I'll put you through some special training after we're done here."(Ren)

"Wha!?"(Bell)

"Relax. Within Ginna's barrier, no matter how horrible your injuries get, they will be healed."

Bell begins to tear up and becomes nervous while Yuuki tries to contain his anger since he hardly knows her but decides to wait until he gets the opportunity to speak his mind.

'Does she think that the third unit can defeat them!?'

Her ability is broken if use correctly but since she is a meek person couldn't bring out most of it. Yuuki was mad that she is basically bullied and he knows her life is like and angry at how she is treated.

If this was his former self before them then he could care less but he's gone and become more compassionate. Though he isn't naive, he is at least sympathetic. Not to mention, Shikoku is strong and given the situation most people would lose due to her toxin. Yuuki just happens to have higher tolerances which is why he is able to keep up.

"There's something I wish to discuss."

Kyouka raised her hands, getting everyone's attention and said.

"It's not enough to just attack our enemies as they come. We also need to think of a way to completely destroy the eight gods and the shuuki."(Kyouka)

"There's still a lot of things we don't know about mato or the eight gods. But we do know attacking our enemies as they come to us works. As the number of mato disaster victims since I became the Commander decreased... That is proof that my way of doing things is correct."(Ren)

She said with confidence as if her presence changed the entirety of Mato which isn't a lie since her power is immense but Yuuki saw that she was blinded by her power and was basically a fish in a small pond while Yuuki is a small fish in the vast ocean.

'Sheesh, reading and hearing it sure hit differently. Her tone shows that she thinks herself as superior than anyone and hasn't tasted defeat.'

He thought to himself, thrilling the lollipop on his mouth and continued with his thoughts.

'Though, they don't have a clue where the Eight Thunder gods are hiding, making her plan far better since they can set up a trap.'(Yuuki)

Yuuki dislikes her arrogance but has to agree with her merits since searching for the Eight Thunder God would be costly and the best course is to wait as Kyouka fell silent, unable to change the commander's mind.

'So this policy really won't change, huh…'(Kyouka)

"Was that all?"(Ren)

"Yes"(Kyouka)

Tenka and Kyouka remain quiet about the situation with the Onmyou agency. They're still looking for a way to investigate the agency before Ren Yamashiro becomes suspicious of the two.

The evidence given by Yuuki was enough but they see that it could cause too much damage when they still had the Eight Thunders Gods running around.

"Then, next, it's about the boy over there. He's necessary for kyouka's ability. Please think of him as her equipment and he has an ability."(Ren)

Everyone seemed taken aback by the news and grew curious how a man can have an ability. Yuuki stepped forward rubbing his neck that was stiff up wanting to go and fight.

"I am Yuuki Wakura, my usual work is caretaker of the seventh Unit's dormitory." (Yuuki)

He said stretching his body giving a huge yawn pondering how he came to relax in front of Ren who was also quite intrigued and even planned to discipline him. Tenka clapped after his introduction, making him smile.

"You're pretty cute... I wanted to have at least one boy."

"Hmm?"

Yuuki tilted his head pretending not to know her while Ren continued and confronted him.

"Now, care to explain how you, a man, able to obtain an ability?"(Ren)

Yuuki nodded and began to tell the story that he covered up, making everyone shocked to hear it.

"You're a fortunate young man, "(Riu)

"Hey, care to tell us what your abilities are?"(Yakumo)

"Can't do that. You'll find out soon enough."

"Aaawww."(Yakumo)

She pouted while Yuuki shrugged it off while Ren was intrigued by his story and said.

"It was reported that you fought two of the Eight Thunder Gods, care to evaluate their strength?"

"Hard to say, let see, based on what I can see and understand you'll defeat them rather easily since I can feel how much of a threat you are to me compared to them."

His words seem to fuel her ego even further while Yuuki didn't intend it but he was just being honest.

"But…Bell-san is quite strong to be able to hold her, meaning that she shouldn't receive a harsh train because of her defeat. However, if you wish for her to get stronger and better, then I am willing to help her."

Bell saw a light from Yuuki hearing someone speak up for her and felt her heart racing looking at Yuuki. On the other hand, Ren frowned upon hearing this but even if she was arrogant doesn't mean she doesn't take other words into consideration.

"I heard you are proficient in hand to hand combat and develop your own fighting style."

Riu and Konomi became interested upon hearing this as Yuuki nodded when Konomi decided to ask him.

"What kind of martial art?"(Konomi)

"You'll soon see enough."

Yuuki said as he sensed a huge amount of Shuuki heading to their headquarters and Ginna barged in the conference room.

"Ren-sama, everyone! It's an emergency!"(Gonna)

"What is it, Ginna?"(Ren)

"A large shuuki army is marching towards the tenth unit headquarters!"(Ginna)

A holographic panel pop and showed them what's happening outside where everyone saw in shock at the amount.

"Awawa…therer…there's…so many."

Bell said where Yakumo tried to sneak into her but stopped by Yuuki and said.

"Hold there, We can't have you doing that."

"Hey, I was just trying to help. Oh well, you do look quite the snack."

They saw Yuuki getting flirted with by Yakumo making her feel his body then shock when she felt his hidden weapon. Bell turned seemingly relieved that she didn't get molested by Yakumo again and grateful for Yuuki growing more interested in him.

"Oh my~ aren't you a gifted young boy."

Kyouka shook her head seeing this and deeply sigh that someone just joined the party while Ren observed the scene and was thinking to herself.

'A large army is coming here as the assembly is happening…something feels off.'

She then turned to Yuuki who got Yakumo's attention trying to flirt with him while he glanced at Ren and saw her smile and said.

"Isn't this the perfect time to show how strong you are?"(Ren)

Everyone seemed shocked looking at their commander as if she was insane while Yuuki remained quiet.

"That many!? Isn't that basically suicide!?"(Mira)

"I see his potential but I'm sure this is too much for him to handle."(Riu)

"Yeah, handsome, let us handle this~"(Yakumo)

"No need to worry, Yuuki-kun is quite capable of defending himself and it's clear he is itching to loosen his muscle."(Tenka)

They looked at her confused and saw Yuuki was already heading to the door.

"Hey, are you trying to get yourself killed!?"(Mira)

"No need to worry about me….here Kyouka, in case you mind need me."

Yuuki clones himself, surprising Mira and saying.

"I'll be damn, he can clone himself."

Yuuki walked off but heard Bell trying to stop him.

"W-Wait, are you sure you'll be alright?"

She didn't want the only one kind to her and made her feel wanted to disappear then felt her head getting head pat and saw him remove his lollipop.

"Of course…here I have this."

Yuuki gave the lollipop, placing it into her mouth making her blush realizing they had an indirect kiss and saw his back as he said.

"I'll be alright because…"

He pointed at the sky where everyone felt the overwhelming pressure radiating from him witnessing something similar to their commander as Ren felt it as well. Yuuki smirked looking at them and said.

"Throughout Heaven and Earth, I Alone Am The Honored One."
