More Than A Hero

Fame wasn't Saitama's primary goal for being a hero. But what if his achievements were recognized? *** Please keep in mind that even though I'm a huge fan of the OPM franchise, I cannot replicate each of the character's personalities accurately. And please note that updates wouldn't be frequent. This is an improved version of my previous fic. Or a completely new one idk. And yes, I am back.

Spar

The master and disciple duo finally decided on the time and date for their spar. It was a large open field, with large walls of rocks on each side. They faced each other at a distance of more than a hundred meters. Though, the distance did not have an effect on their hearing as they talked normally.

"Master, I am glad that you have accepted my request," Genos said. He wore a white tank top for maximum movement efficiency on his cybernetic arms. Both of them got ready, with Genos revving his engines and thruster at max power. He did not intend to hold back in the slightest. In an instant, the hundred meters gap between them was covered by Genos's insane speed.

Saitama smiled as he dodged, bending his whole upper body down to his knee. He didn't expect Genos to be this fast, Saitama was honestly amazed. Genos followed with a kick directed at Saitama's shining head which was immediately dodged by Saitama's inhumane speed. He appeared somewhere else on the field and ran.

Genos had a hard time tracking Saitama's position as he hastily scanned the entire area for his presence. After a few seconds, he finally found Saitama's location and he immediately launched himself at him. Genos sent a fist to Saitama's stomach, which as he expected, got blocked by the strong hand of Saitama.

The cyborg sent a fury of attacks, but it was all to no avail, they were all either dodged or blocked by his master.

Crack!

Genos almost collapse to the ground as he ran out of energy. 'I need... more speed!'

He absorbed the energy within the ground which generated electricity that allowed him to float albeit—slowly. He disappeared from his spot as images of him appeared. In an instant, Genos appeared next to Saitama. Yet, his master merely copied his movement and also disappeared on the spot.

He clashed with Genos but never once had he actually punched the cyborg. He wasn't stupid, it would end the fight the instant he punched. He did not want it to end quickly, and it seems to benefit his disciple the most.

Bofoi, or as the public and hero association calls him—Metal Knight. He was a very intellectual and cunning person. Nobody seems to know what he's thinking and rarely does he actually help the populace. Though, in reality, the Hero Association had him as their biggest asset. Metal Knight provided them with stronger weapons and defenses.

Currently, he was on top of a mountain, and at the bottom were two figures. He recognized one of them but not the other. Metal Knight used his camera that could even zoom to the surface of the moon. It did not have any problem recording the scene below. He extended his camera and heightened the sound recording device.

"Sensei... thank you for heeding this selfish request." The cyborg said.

'Sensei huh...' Metal Knight thought. It seems he had to dig up the unknown cyborg's history. Both of them talked about multiple matters but what interested Metal Knight the most was the reason they were here in the first place. 'Sparring between master and disciple huh... interesting.'

Knowing the rumors he heard about the bald man's strength intrigued him. But for him to have a disciple? He must be very worthy then. Finally after a few minutes of waiting the duo started their spar. Metal Knight made sure to record every bit of second their fight. It might be an important piece of data in the future. He may find flaws in both of them that would allow him to apprehend them with ease in case of emergence.

Metal Knight watched, eager to know the outcome of this spar. After a few more minutes of watching, he deduced that the disciple of the bald man was more than worthy of a position in the S-Class...

So if that's the case, wouldn't that make the bald man at the top of S-Class? Or possibly beyond? He did not want to imagine. Yet the evidence was clear in front of him. The bald man had yet to show his true strength... Metal Knight knew.

'It seems this spar will finally come to a conclusion.'

...

"Master... did I not tell you the rules of our spar?" The cyborg asked.

"I said to not hold back. Use everything you've got Sensei... Those were the rules of our spar."

"Have no mercy—" Genos was abruptly cut short when Saitama suddenly appeared in front of him. Genos swiped his legs to strike Saitama... Yet it hit nothing but thin air. Suddenly, Genos felt an imminent death coming from his behind. Cold sweat ran down his back as Saitama's fist came into his vision.

It was a clear sign... This is what happens when Saitama gets serious. It all leads to nothing but...

Death.

Boom!

A strong gush of wind grazed past Genos's face and hair. A loud sound reverberated throughout the field. Saitama lightly tapped Genos's nose as he comically walked away. "Let's go home and eat some ramen." He seemed eager to go home at this time.

"Yes..." Genos was in a trance, this display of power and dominance... 'Indeed, as expected of the strongest being I've met.'

'I will do anything in my power to get as strong as my master... Yet even I nor my master can fathom the true meaning of his power.' Genos stated in his mind as he stared back. His eyes slightly widened as he saw the scene. The entire mountain... was razed to the ground, even the mountains and hills from kilometers away were not spared, and the cloud was cut in half by the insane display of power.

'Yet, I cannot imagine myself obtaining this kind of power.'

Metal Knight POV

What happened?! I was clearly at a safe distance, away from their fight. Yet how in the world was my robot destroyed? Was it a monster attack? No, no such monsters are foolish enough to approach a clear area full of danger from those two. So what kind of ungodly being did it?

I sent a drone toward the previous spot where my robot was destroyed and reviewed the recorded video of their spar. I was greatly surprised at the end. It seems whatever destroyed my robot came from the bald hero's attack. That did not seem plausible, suck an attack is more than worthy enough to be considered S-Class...

And it looks like the bald hero did it with ease. My drone arrived at the scene, and what the outcome shocked me more than earlier... Such power! I must be wary of this person.

City-A, Hero Association

Sitch, an important executive of the Hero Association sat in his office. He was waiting for the results of the investigation on the 'Caped Baldy', whose name and current location were still unknown. Even with the association's wide range of power and influence, with ears and eyes all across every city, were still unable to get their hands on such trivial information.

He did not know why but when saw the countless reports of eyewitnesses, and video recordings of the man's feats and display of power, he was sure that the mysterious caped hero was famous one way or another. Yet, here they were. The hero's identity is still unknown to them. Sitch did not want it to come to this, but seeing how he have no other choice, asking Metal Knight for a favor was the only way.

He didn't want to be in debt to Metal Knight, but the HA needed strength such as the caped baldy. They have far too few strong fighters amongst their ranks, it was time for them to recruit potential S-Class heroes.

Knock!

"Sir? Metal Knight has arrived." An attendant said. Soon after, a miniature version of Metal Knight entered his office.

"Heard you called." Metal Knight stood still, his voice unnaturally robotic. "Yes, actually, I called you for a favor," Sitch said hesitantly. "Oh? Do say so."

"Ahem! I'm sure you've heard of the recent rising star yes? He's been under our radar for quite some time now, but we have failed to track down his location from time to time. Sigh, we've even had some of our A-Class heroes try and follow him, but he disappears as soon as the monster is defeated." Sitch was dejected, searching for a single person's location proved harder than he thought. Though, said person was no ordinary being.

"Stop beating around the bush and get to the point." Metal Knight cut Sitch off before he could continue. "Sigh, alright. The reason I called you here is to ask for your help in obtaining this person's information and location, we need him in the Hero Association."

"Huh, with the capability of the HA and its supporters, isn't it more than enough to find a single person's info?" Metal Knight said matter of factly, even though he already knew a vital piece of information about the very same person that Sitch was so desperately searching for.

"Heh, alright then. I'll tell you, but everything comes at a price..." Metal Knight said and smirked mysteriously.

...

"Sensei!" The overzealous disciple practically yelled as he knocked on the door to his master's apartment.

"What's up?" Saitama peeked through the crack of the door as he looked at Genos, somehow, he had a bad feeling today... Saitama left the door open and went back to the living room, waiting for Genos to come in. Though, he did not expect such a sight to behold in front of him. Genos was wearing a backpack, that was at least three times his size of him!

Saitama didn't even know how that thing fit through his small apartment door. "Sensei! This disciple humbly asks if I could stay in your apartment!" Genos dropped his luggage with a heavy thud and exclaimed.

"Dude, this place could barely fit a person in let alone two! Go home!"

"I brought rent money." Genos pulled out a few thousand yen from his pocket and dropped it on the small table.

"..."

"Did you bring a toothbrush?"

"Hai!"
