More Than A Hero

Fame wasn't Saitama's primary goal for being a hero. But what if his achievements were recognized? *** Please keep in mind that even though I'm a huge fan of the OPM franchise, I cannot replicate each of the character's personalities accurately. And please note that updates wouldn't be frequent. This is an improved version of my previous fic. Or a completely new one idk. And yes, I am back.

Quest For The Lost Wallet

Tap! Tap!

His shoes clicked with every step he took, his pace hurriedly. He wants to go home as soon as possible. Saitama wasn't feeling optimistic. First, his meal was ruined. Now, he had somehow lost his wallet. He took good care of every stuff he owned, and never once has he lost a single item.

Yet, there he was, frantically searching everywhere for his lost wallet. The wallet didn't have anything of value inside, but what was important to him was the wallet itself. It had accompanied him since he was still in middle school. So naturally, he felt attached to it.

Usually, he would put his wallet in the back pocket of his jeans. Although uncomfortable, the back pocket felt safest to put his wallet in. Sweat dripped down his face; this was the last thing he wanted.

The door to his apartment slammed wide open, and Saitama went in. "Genos! Have you seen my wallet?!" He frantically asked the confused cyborg. "Sensei, did you not come outside for a meal?" The cyborg reminded his master, who was suddenly struck with a realization.

Saitama went outside again, going back to the restaurant from earlier. 'Looks like this is a big problem for sensei... I must accompany and assist him as his disciple.' Genos silently thought and stopped whatever he was doing.

...

Genos jumped next to his master and asked, "Sensei, may I ask what is the problem?" He inquired, to which Saitama responded, "I lost my wallet... It had that card too." His robotic face darkened. This was of great concern to his master. He took care of his personal belongings and often sewed his hero costume.

"Sensei, I shall assist you on this matter," Genos said with utmost seriousness. "You're a lifesaver, Genos." His master said in response. It took them no more than five minutes to arrive at the restaurant Saitama dined in. Upon arrival, Genos asked the staff for a missing item. Yet none of them has seen any. He asked permission to review their camera footage but was declined.

Genos and his master did not have a choice but to leave. Though, Genos secretly hacked into their camera but found nothing of importance. Though, at the end of the footage, when he saw his master come out of the door, he saw something fall out of his pocket and into the floor. After that, it was picked up by a hooded person.

"Sensei, I have found traces of someone who might know where your wallet is," Genos informed his master. "let's find those guys and beat some senses into them," Saitama was pumped, and now they had information on his wallet's whereabouts. It was all going smoothly. Saitama couldn't wait to embrace his precious wallet again.

Suddenly, the cyborg's sensors began to beep. It had detected monsters nearby, and they were not weak. He sensed several monsters on par with demon-level threats. He came to a halt and informed his master. "Sensei! I've detected several demon-level monsters!" The situation worsened, and Genos detected a human being with the monsters.

"Demon, huh? Isn't that like... strong?" Saitama asked. He was still very unfamiliar with the Disaster Levels. "For us, yes. But I doubt it would be hard for you, sensei." Genos stated. He wasn't exaggerating in the least. "Well... I guess." The master scratched his head.

Genos opened a maintenance hole and jumped in. Saitama followed, careful not to get his shirt stuck on anything. "Bleh! It stinks down here!" Saitama complained. "Sensei, the smell is because we are inside the sewers." The cyborg informed his master. "I know that!" He yelled, greatly annoyed by his disciple's answer to his every word.

Genos extended his arm, and a flashlight appeared. His master watched in awe. "Whoa, dude, that's pretty cool." The cyborg smirked smugly and went on to explain why he added this. "...Sensei, it is exactly because of that-" He was cut off when an explosion happened deep inside the sewers.

The walls around them shook as if begging to collapse. Small pieces of rocks fell from the ceiling, and dust scattered everywhere. Saitama dusted off the particles from his hoodie; he wasn't wearing his costume for once. "Man... These are my favorite too..." His tone was filled with bitterness. 'Ugh. I should've just worn my hero outfit...'

"Sensei! Multiple heat signatures are approaching us rapidly!" His disciple warned. The cyborg's left arm was raised, powering his cannons. Genos was very vigilant. He analyzed every bit of information presented before him, his enemy's movements, and constant change of pace.

They were quick to arrive in front of the two. Genos armed himself and blasted two fully powered incinerator cannons toward his enemies. The entire passage of the sewer was covered in his range, and no living being survived. His attack slowly dimmed down. After that, he put his hands down and analyzed the aftermath.

Not even their burnt corpse remained on the ground, and the sewage water had been vaporized. "It seems the monsters have noticed our presence," Genos said as he stared coldly in the direction where the monsters were at. "Let's get going then," Saitama said plainly and idly walked.

He wasn't bothered by the scene Genos made; such was the usual occurrence for a hero. The cyborg silently followed behind his master, who casually strolled inside the sewers. "Sensei, there are still 500 meters until we reach them. But it seems the person they are holding captive wouldn't be able to last longer."

"Then, let's pick up our pace," His master said and disappeared. Genos followed closely behind, failing to match his master's inhumane speed. It didn't take them long to reach their destination, though, at the end of the tunnel, there wasn't anything but a wall to greet them. 'Must be a decoy of some sort.' Genos thought and couldn't help but laugh at how simple it was.

'They're asking to get attacked... wait-no, I can't possibly think that monsters don't have any intelligence. This must be a trap.' His mind came to a realization. "That must be it." He said aloud. "What's it?" His master questioned confusingly.

"Oh. Sensei, they are right behind this wall waiting for an ambush," Genos enlightened his master. "Oh, well, might as well punch em' now." Saitama cocked his fist, ready to strike. "Wait, Sensei, do not forget that there is a human being amongst the monsters." Genos placed a hand down on Saitama's shoulder and said.

Dejectedly, Saitama put his fist down. "I understand your worry. But we cannot risk the life of a civilian." Genos informed his master seriously as if their roles had been reversed. Genos scanned the beings behind the wall. Some mysterious power limited his scan. Therefore, he could not differentiate between monsters and humans as of now.

Genos carefully observed. There didn't seem to be anything serious going on the other side of this wall. He sighed in relief; based on the shapes the thermal scanner showed, non of the beings on the other side were human.

"Sensei, I ran a scan on them... Non appears to show any human characteristics." He whispered to his master. "So, it's fine now, even if I blast this thing open, right?" Saitama questioned, still unsure. Genos merely nodded his head in confirmation. "If you say so." Saitama casually punched the wall, which the average human would expect did not happen. Not even Genos guessed.

The punch did not destroy the wall. A fist-size hole was the only effect he saw after Saitama withdrew his hand. "Huh... It seems the unexpected has happened." The cyborg announced.

Genos did not stand in ceremony and helped his master destroy the wall.

Bang! Crack!

...

Fubuki, the little sister of the famed Tornado of Terror, grimaced at the scene in front of her. Disgusting monsters and filth filled the alleyway they were in.

A few minutes prior, Fubuki chased the man who she suspects to have 'that' kind of relationship with her sister. She just wanted to ask him a few things to clear some thoughts.

Though, she ultimately failed her goal for the day when a filthy monster interrupted them. Its long slimy tongue was the monster's prominent part of its body. 'Must have been a pervert in his past life...' She silently thought in disgust. One thing led to another, and after fighting for a few minutes, they somehow found themselves in a tunnel.

They stopped in front of each other. One stared lustfully at the other. Fubuki stared in disgust.

Before the monster starts its monologue, Fubuki quickly uses her psychic abilities to control its tongue and wrap it around its body. She proceeded with a kick to the stomach that would've knocked out an average person. Although that was the case, such moves wouldn't do much to a monster. Hence, she relies on the pocket knife that she carries.

Cling!

As if she struck metal, the monster's claws blocked her attack. It gripped the knife tightly and stared at her angrily. He slashed his claw at her, intending to kill her. Thankfully, she dodged it before it dealt extensive injuries to her.

"Just die already..!" She was exasperated. This foe was much stronger than she had thought. Fubuki grasped the knife tightly, afraid of losing her only weapon. Her psychic ability was useless in these kinds of situations. The narrow tunnel could barely fit two people walking side by side.

Blood trickled down from her head as she wavered from dizziness. She supported herself against the wall, which was begging to collapse. "You psychic bitch! Once I get my hands on you, I'll use you to lure your sister and violate you in front of her!" The monster angrily shouted, revealing their plan.

'Is this guy disillusioned? My sister wouldn't allow such a thing to happen to me.' Fubuki silently thought. "You'd have to be stupid enough to think that would work," Her words earned a laugh.

"Hahaha! Did you think we'd lure her in without a plan?" He said and smiled mysteriously. Fubuki sensed something ominous about to happen. The monster grew in size, nearly twice his previous, and barely fit inside the narrow tunnel. "Hahaha! Behold, my true power! This was only possible because our king made me at least a Dragon-Level Threat!" His deep voice sent shivers down her spine.

'Damn it..! He's out of my league!' She ignored her dizziness and ran for it. "Where do you think you're going?" The monster said with a smirk. He extended his grotesque tongue, extending to an unimaginable length. It reached Fubuki within seconds; it wrapped around her ankle, immobilizing her.

The monster approached her slowly; this was dreadful. She used everything she could to resist the fiend, but the thing attached to her ankle wouldn't budge. Her psychic ability somehow managed to be deflected by him, his skin was much stronger than steel, so her small knife wouldn't do much.

Hopelessness clouded her thoughts; this was the situation she dreaded the most. Helpless against her opponent... a monster, no less.

Clang!

Suddenly, a sharp noise attracted their attention. They couldn't see much in the dark narrow tunnel, "Oh. There's someone over there..."
