I expected this to be his reaction. When I left for the Renegade Pack, I thought Nathanial would keep me there, in an attempt to prove my trust and I didn't expect him to let me leave. I know his demand is overreaching but at the same time, it feels like this is the only choice we have.

"Lucas, this is the only way," I tell him calmly. I don't even know if I am setting Lucas up. It might just be a trick. He has wanted Lucas dead for a while now and this might be the way he can get to him.

"I don't want anything to do with your plan. It is insane and we would just end up right where he wants us."

Lucas is more of a strategist than I give him credit for sometimes. He likes to see things from a clearer point of view.

"He can see right through me Lucas, we have to do things his way for now. He needs to trust me."
