1 Underrated Part 1

Five years earlier...

ALEXANDER'S P.O.V

"Class welcome to Biochemistry 101. I am your lecturer Mr Williams. So, today we will study life functions on a molecular level.

Since today is our first class to make you all feel more at ease you will assign yourselves in groups of three. Remember the members you group yourselves with, you will be stuck with them for the rest of the year.

OH. Okay. In your groups I want you to discuss the different molecular levels, include a fifty page thesis and also mention what you as a medical person or group would do and I want you to choose one maybe more you want to focus on.

Students we are contributing to medical research here, so look alive guys. Pair up and we will pick up from here on our next lesson.

You lot are our future doctors. Some will find it difficult to cope but it is all up to you if you not up to the challenge, drop the course and do something less mentally stimulating.

Wasting your potential on faculties like: Chiropractic medicine, Information Technology (IT), Psychology, Commerce or Engineering. Today I really want you to ask and answer yourself. Will you allow this course to break you or make you?

While you guys contemplate the answer, I would like to congratulate Lucas and Evy for representing the medicine faculty well. Thank you both for participating and bringing home a trophy as well as impressive titles."

Everyone clapped hands mostly it was for the well-toned tall man. Xander even saw some girls swooned and the popular wolf flashed a smile that made the view of his perfect teeth almost blinding.

The only reason he noticed him first was because of his nature. All alphas are the same that why it was easy to depict his nature and status. It was in his level of dominance, his scent. God, his nature is toxic. Xander knew that if he were to survive here, his head is to be downcast and flow below the raider.

Planning to sit at the back row forever, just to avoid wolves or take the professor on his offer to change faculties. The fact that there were two wolves that have the potential to affect his life, he was sort out numbered. What if they are douche bags, assholes, they are from the same pack and his the odd one out. The happy looking guy next to him, wolf. The odds. The fucking odds that he will have a class with two wolves. He hoped it was not too late to change classes so he would just have to hide under the raider.

Or he can stick it out. This is mutual territory, he has the same right as them to be here. Good with that mental mind fuck resolved, he waited. His strategy was to wait until a group required a third member. Rolling his eyes at the humans who immediately found their members and his attention flew back to his latest escape attempt drawing.

He barely heard Professor Williams beyond what is important but the groups of three thing would be difficult. He never spoke to anyone not even during orientation week. In his defense, none attempted either.

[Perhaps your resting bitch face scared people away.]

His wolf teased but that couldn't be it. His certain his awkwardness had a play in his current social dilemma but before he could get up and go attempt to mingle two shadows hovered above him.

"Lucas?"

Fighting his instincts to show subservience he faced the other man although with great difficulty. Facing them questionably. Thankfully this here is mutual territory, so he was not at a wrong for being there. He did not want trouble especially with an alpha but this time he could not tolerate being weak. With the brim determination and his will, he managed not to back down.

"Do you want to be in our group?"

The entire class groaned out their disappointment. The most popular, good looking guy in class now taken (in a sense that their group was complete). Closing his book, slowly contemplating what to do or say next. He continued staring dumbly at the other man in front of him, praying his face gave nothing away. The other man next to him is slightly shorter, smaller compared to the alpha with plump lips the colour of strawberry. His silky hair kissed with blond highlights making him look more adorable than the 'bad boy image' his is kinda going for.

In academics Xander has always been most certain of himself. Not because of his intelligence but his ability to never forget. He has always scored the highest in his grades effortlessly. Xander also excelled in art, in fact there was a time he wanted to dedicate his life creating though self- expression but that was just a dream. Life gave him a rude awakening even before the incident, even with his round about skills the one thing that was harder for him to do was to make friends. Breathe Xander. This is a new school. New environment. No one knows you here. You can be who you want to be here.

Back story him being a doctor was his second as well as his exclusively last option. His first option was isolated in the small town boarding school that was not far from his childhood home. Moon's Art's is where he wanted to follow his calming talent he is passionate about, art...

After a few months his mother got news of the incident, which occurred at her absence. Her attitude toward his dreams changed, she was super supportive or maybe just overridden by guilt. Again life gave him a rude awakening so that is when he decided to wake up. His mother felt so guilty, she got him to application forms to enrol him to Moon's Art's. Unfortunately he jumped ship of that dream and faced the depression of life. Without his mother knowing he applied at Moon University where he went to pursue his second option. His stepfather and mother insisted on funding his every expenses, again guilt had a heavy hand on their decision. He has one reason for every decision after that. The only reason he chose medicine. The one reason he vowed to work hard. He wants to own his own practice, make enough money to pay Jun back. He never wished to ease his mother from her overwhelming guilt. It was never his responsibility to do so, besides she made her decision and it did not involve choosing her own son....

"This is Leo. Leo, Alexander. Common, let's got to the back of the class there are many distractions here."

Lucas and Leo went to go collect their things and Xander stood there not wanting to believe this is real. His own kind was being nice to him, wanted to be in a group with a lowly like him and the alpha did not look down on him.

"I have a perfect idea we can hand in as our Bio to research project. Since we need to choose one on focal point is to focus on humans." - Lucas

When they arrive at the desk he rectified what would soon bother him.

"Call me Xander. Alexander is too long."

"Alright Xander. Lucas that is a good idea but studying diseases in humans does not board well will creating a solution, some animals have the same genetic resemblance to humans. Therefore our research will not unnecessarily kill humans, creating more than what is required from the assignment. What do you think, uh?-"

"Xander. I suggest we go all in. Use animals to detect, find and make use of different plant life variant to finding the cure. Once test have been concluded and deemed it a success, we extend the test to consenting humans to study the side effects."

"Frequent mixture of ideas is a tantalizing idea we can destroy our given task while also suggesting something new..."

"Lucas our new partner and friend is a genius. Let us go grab lunch and we can formally get to know each other. Na, common. Come the cafeteria is not far from here."

That's the story blurred of how they met. The alpha and beta took a chance on a lonely omega that they did not know. From that day Lucas and Leo became very good friends with the awkward shy guy in class. Being friends with them even managed to take him out of his hard shell. He even wondered at times if deep rooted fear that bore resentment of alphas is unwarranted is. He misjudged and judged based on one person. Despised an entire race (werewolves) based on his poor excuse of a pack.

The next year Jayden, an alpha from another pack briefly joined the group although he is from a different faculty. The only thing they all have in common was their nature everything else was them, they were cool to be around. Everything went along smoothly, Jayden was a year older than them but it didn't matter.

The big handsome guy went through a rough patch in his life, he did not want to talk about (totally understandable, he holds his own share of dark history). Goodness, the guy is extremely intelligent although he does not look it. He is a charmer, with the ability to attract both men and women in his domineering presence and demanding grasp. He won't lie... If he did not suspect Jayden most probably has feeling for Leo, he would have probably done nothing. Xander you fool, alphas are bad ideas. Rule number one, don't get involved with an alpha.

Of cause Jayden was more of Lucas friend because they went way back together although they from different packs. Xander love the diversity they had going on here although he was at the time still weary of the two alphas. None could detect his status and respected the fact he refused to speak about it. Leo enthusiastic nature grew on him. Well, that was until the third year and change threatened their friendship leading trials. Little did Xander anticipate the past attaching itself on to the group and threatening the future of their friendships, while also affecting the present with its shift emotions.
