1 Qin Ru

Thud!

Aaah!

"Heavens don't pity me!"

A delicate young girl in her twenties rose gracefully from the ground, her teeth clenched. She was dressed in a lovely jade green Hanfu with white embroidered lilies. She seemed fragile and soft overall. She dusted off her dust and twirled around to take in her surroundings with a simple shrug.

She grinned contentedly after finishing her inspection, smacking her rose-tinted lips. "Oh, my goodness. This Guangnxi mountain is so beautiful and it's so green."

"God's grace"

She chirped happily as she squealed in delight.

"Ahh..."

"Finally, I am back in time."

She returned her gaze to the mountain as memories from her past began to surface.

The Guangxi mountain was totally ruined in her former life. Because of her, not only this mountain but the entire Southern province was reduced to ashes. Her eyes welled up with tears as she remembered everything, but she refrained from crying.

"I will change the course of fate this time," She said with determination in her voice.

As she was trying to collect her happiness, she heard noises of hooves. As she predicted, the four horsemen quickly came in front of her and bent on their knees as they greeted her.

"Young Miss Ru"

When she saw them, she frowned irritably. If they followed her to the Guangxi kingdom, nothing will change.

"Arise"

The horsemen all rose to their feet, but their gaze remained fixed on the ground. The chief said his prayers before he stepped up to relay the humble orders.

"Lord Qin asked you to return to the manor as soon as you can, young Miss Ru. I'm afraid we'll be late if we don't hurry."

The chief was a burly young man dressed in his uniform. Despite his size and power, he acted like a holy Kitten in front of their young miss. Everyone in the manor was well aware of their young Miss's sassy disposition. Her temperament was the most volatile, and no one could foresee what path she would take in life. She can be a cute cat one moment and then transform into a vicious feline the next, ready to tear you to shreds.

Cold sweat drenched his back after he finished his sentence.

In front of Qin Ru, the same scene was unfolding. She was well aware that if she returned to the manor now, the same disaster would strike again. She can't let it happen again, can she?

Certainly not!

"Yu Ye you all can leave but I am not going back to the manor." She declared her order.

Qin Ru was the only daughter of Qin Tian, the lord of Ning city in the eastern province. Her family was one the mysterious and powerful among the rest of Eastern province families. Even the emperor respected her father, Qin Tian. She was very naive and proud in her previous life but now she was very well aware of why was her family so respected and, in all honesty, she disgusted it.

She loathed the reason from her heart.

"Young Miss, we can't leave you here. The lord will skin us alive if we dare to" The burly man quickly answered in an aggrieved voice.

It was clear from his expressions that he will surely be skinned alive, but did Ruru care?

The answer was no.

In all honesty, she doesn't care. However, she noticed that the rest of the horsemen began to shiver in fear as soon as she refused.

Her father, indeed, was a terrifying figure.

"Bring me the paper, ink, and my seal," Qin Ru sighed as she gave the order.

One of the horsemen quickly went back and brought back the things which she asked for. He softly trudged forward as he handed the items to her.

Qin Ru received everything but before the man could back away, she kicked him hard on his shin. The man instantly fell on his knees as he groaned with pain but didn't dare to cry out loud. She used his back as support and wrote a letter to her dear father. After finishing it, she blew on the paper so that the ink dried and later she used her personal seal to close it.

She raised her hands from the back of pitiful horsemen and handed him the letter. The horsemen accepted the letter and, this time backed up quickly before handing it to the chief.

Qin Ru chuckled when she saw how timid her subordinates were. She opened her golden pouch which was gracefully bound to her waist and took out a silver coin from it as she called the horsemen whom she kicked. She threw the coin mid-air as he happily asked him to catch it.

"Catch it, boy. Use it to buy some medicine for your shin".

"Yes, young miss Ru," the guy who had been kicked by her blushed under her teasing.

Qin Ru waved her hand in the air to shush him up.

"Yu Ye, please personally deliver this letter to my father. Make sure you give it to him while no one else is around. After reading this, he will spare your life, so don't be afraid. You must now all depart from this palace."

Hearing her orders, her subordinates were taken aback. They actually didn't fear for themselves rather they were all worried for their young miss Ru's safety. They'd been serving her, for many years, and despite her obnoxious demeanour, they all knew her heart was full of goodness. She just didn't want everyone to know how amazing she was. Cruelty and ruthlessness were needed to live and survive in the society she was a part of.

Qin Ru read hesitation and concern in their eyes, making her feel annoyed for some reason. However, a warm feeling seeped into the depths of her cracked soul. She was even more determined now, to save the world from the dark period. She already lost everything once. The despair and grief that she underwent is something she can't explain nor wants it to be felt again thus she steeled herself.

"You all are forgetting who I am. Do you think the people of the Guangxi kingdom can harm me?"

She laughed in pure disdain.

"Even their General can't put a scratch over me. His cultivation level is no match for me and with my background, I doubt anyone will even dream about harming me." She declared.

Everyone nodded their head in understanding, but reluctance was written all over their faces.

Qin Ru let out a sigh.

Mercy doesn't work for these blockheads.

"If you don't leave this place before I finish counting to three, I'll tear the letter and flee somewhere."

"One..."

"....."

"..."

"....."

She didn't even finish the first count but everyone was quick enough to flee. It was as if King Yama had given them a second chance to live.

Qin Ru was speechless.

She fixed her gaze on the crooked road that led to the Guangxi kingdom. She exhaled a deep breath as she murmured. " Let's do it".
