2 Chapter 2: Kol village
Allen finishes his breakfast and goes out of the orphanage to go to school.
He likes to go to school on his own even though the orphanage will take them by their transport bus. He starts running along with Serina. His school is 3km away.
He likes running to school as he will be going through the farm area of his village which helps his mind to relax.
Serina also loves the farm as she gets to play with Allen here after school. The fields of grains, fruits and vegetables are very lush in the village.
His village - Kol is small compared to other villages and also has less chance to face monster horde as it is surrounded by a forest where only lower-stage monsters roam.
His village has a small military camp which has 50 soldiers in total as it is a safe area. These soldiers are all in the specialist stage from low level to peak level.
They will sometimes conduct drills with civilians to fight hordes of monsters if in case the necessity arises.
The soldiers in the camp usually patrol the village border and defend against hordes. 40 soldiers will sometimes leave the village to defend other villages during the horde.
Allen gets to see a few soldiers returning from night patrol as their camp is near the farm. The village head is a kind man who is at the Master Sergeant mid-level stage.
During the horde, people who are willing to protect the village can join with the soldiers as they have served 4 years of compulsory service.
Since the village is small, only about 1,000 people are living there including children. The villagers work on the farm and wood-cutting factory.
During their off, they would go monster hunting to keep up their fighting skills tuned. They will hunt monsters that are in lower stages around the village and bring them to the village.
These hunted monsters' meat is used as food and their skin and other parts can be used for other purposes.
There is also a marketplace for shopping. Even though it is not much, it can fulfil the daily necessities of the village people. Villagers can also sell the monsters they hunt in the marketplace.
The government has formed Hunter's Guild to help the villagers to buy and sell weapons, armour and the monsters they hunt. Hunter's Guild will be available in every village, town and city no matter how small it is.
It is Allen's 2nd favourite place after the farm. Here he gets to see all the weapons and armour. Also, the monsters that are easy to hunt.
People who like to hunt monsters for credit can accept various types of missions and will be rewarded upon completion of the missions according to the mission difficulty.
Hunter's guild will also serve as a military bunker during monster horde attacks as it has underground rooms and a building built with strong materials.
Allen slowly ran across the farmland, while watching the soldiers returning from patrol.
He wanted to become an archer as he has skills in archery. But is he also trained in handling two-handed and one-handed swords for close-range attacks.
