After reading the first volume of this novel we can very easily come to the conclusion that this at best a filler novel. Translation Quality - good enough, nothing superb - 4 stars. Stability of Updates - 14 chapters of about 7-8 ss a week - 4 stars. Story Development - Most of the chapters are just filler. For eg. in one chapter, its only about the MC riding on his monster to examination venue through a forest, the authority keeping an eye on these examinees and one very trivial/short comedy segment. Are 7 ss worth this? Next, the monster trainer/master does very little in a fight (doesn't have the ability to fight nor does he actively command his monsters) - 2 stars. Character Design - Very little characters other than the MC have an important role, and even those that can be considered important side characters are developed enough. MC himself is a brat, mediocre at best. He is not funny enough, nor smart nor serious. I feel the characters are seriously lacking or rather the author has been really lazy in writing them. - 2 stars. World Backgroud - Nothing new, very similar to Monster Paradise and other tropes. - 3 stars. All in all, very disappointing read for its current rating of 4.4. Excluding Translation quality and Stability of Updates (which is a solid 4 stars), this novel is utter trash. Only 2.3 stars. Monster Paradise is just so much better than this in so many places and levels, and that is after the fact that Monster Paradise isn't that great itself.

ugh, just trash, looked interesting at first but got boring really fast, trough out the 150+ chaps that i read i didn't find any ******* in the story, felt like i was reading a boring diary and oh god, dont get me started on all that filler, MC is cardboard cutout, i legit dont get him, hes just..... there? hes cold most of the time but.... he just seems bland, and there's no particular reason either, i love cold and even evil protagonist but this guy just seems so.... lifeless? dead? either way, its extremely boring, done.
I have happily devoured this novel in an hour or so and I am hooked. Praying for stable updates because its that good. Hoping MC won't turn into a lich or go down the path of a necromancer đ I hope he remains optimistic, strong, persistent and remains to have an uncanny fondness to his 2 unique monsters (may there be other unique monsters like them in the future coz cute/light attributes are over rated)đ The translator has done a great job in keeping it serious and comedic â
Honestly, donât read this unless you have the âgotta collect them allâ kind of mindset. This story is very reminiscent of pokemon, excluding the characterâs cheat ability. Thereâs a lot of plot armor, and basically no threats to the character, so itâs kinda slow. And the character doesnât really advance towards his original goal at all. But if you ignore all that, itâs a pretty fun read.
Chapter 419. Is the last chapter that i will read, i swear on it. I gave this novel too many chances to count. Its not that good man to be honest even my rating, this rating, i feel very generous giving this 2.8 star/ 5 star rating. Its not that good too many plot holes. If there is a problem the author will just put a excuse to make it sound easy LMFAO.
It starts off well, but decays at a dizzying pace. Bad end arc, no conclusion of the romance that hinted, lost the initial goal of resurrecting the parents, only to be resurrected later in the last chapter without preparation or anything, he had great xenophobic tendencies, besides that in the middle of the story because he had many ''pets'' and they ended up having poor development in some cases, plus some if you take away from the story it literally doesn't change anything.
Believe it or not, this book used to be on par with Library of the Heaven Path till it went downhill from there. The naive MC exploring the world admist growing up with each chapters was its selling point until he became a vicious killing machine. Sometimes, making mistakes the process of learning. Not only that, it's more relatable if MC is between low to middle income group but he suddenly had to be one of the richest person in the world. Unless it's rewritten, I would suggest going for Monster Paradise. Note, Monster Pet Evolution has the makings to be wonderful
Ok, I'll have to say the truth about this story... THE AUTHOR DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY MANAGE HIS OWN STORY. The road to power should be built slowly, or the story will be ****. To say the truth I enjoyed a good chunk of this book, but as time passed and I read more the jokes that he made about the overused tropes just made me wish that he used them instead of trying to be more original, because this novel turns into hot garbage because of how "different" and "unique" he wants it to be. #SPOILERS FROM NOW ON# One of the points that I most liked about the story is how each of the monsters had their personality and the MC had to treat each other differently, but now? Now that he has a super strong monster? He just uses it to put fear into the beasts hearts instead of conquering them with Intelligence like in the beginning. Another one is how the spider had to sacrifice itself to save him and the author showed how every other monster had its reaction to it, that moment was beautiful but ultimately meaningless, as the spidey survive and the monsters act like nothing happened, they continue their old lazy behavior. So I would say that this novel is just a trap, it begins magnificently just to turn into bull**** later, wouldn't recommend 5/10. This was just a rant, but I want that you guys to know that I'm open to discussion so if you disagree just say it and I'll respond it when I come back to this site.
so started out super interesting still reading threw it but its taking its sweet time to get to any decent plot so far the characters are feeling a little lack luster, but don't get me wrong enjoying this book but i feel like its missing the adventure aspect that show be present in a book like this its states the worlds completely different, i feel like we should be exploring a little more but I get that it need to build a little so he can survive the wilderness but i mean were 85 chapter in and i feel like nothing really happened or nothing significant.
To make this book : Pokemon mix with a splash of digimon.
