Chapter 12: Next quest

Noah looked at the portal that had appeared in front of him, he could leave the dungeon and redo it after 1 hour, most parties took a lot longer to redo it though, if you died you would lose half of the Exp that you had, dying twice without gaining at least 10% of your Exp needed to level up would bring you down a level and since there would be at least 1 person who died in most parties they would take a few hours to clear it again.

Noah walked through the portal and reappeared in the dark cavern, without even wasting a second he immediately headed back to the village.

Noah ran for around 30 minutes and reached the gates to the village, he walked past the guards who didn't even bat an eye at him and walked straight to the village lord's office, this time he had to wait a few minutes before he could see him.

Noah walked past the person coming out of the village lord's office and entered the lavish-looking room.

"Oh, Noah, welcome back, I take you've managed to clear the dungeon?" The village lord asked.

Noah nodded, "Yes I have, the boss was a Giant Wolf King and had berserk and fear as two of its skills, I also received one of its other skills as a reward for clearing it, it is an AOE skill which I assume it uses against large parties, the dungeon consisted mostly of wolves and I encountered a few goblins along the way." Noah reported to the village lord.

The village lord nodded while humming "Hmm, that is a great report, I'll put out a few quest papers in the adventurers guild to clear it a few times so we can see what kind of loot we can get from it, but for now I have a rather important quest to give you, I will only tell you if you agree to do the quest." He said as his eyes turned serious.

Noah pondered for a moment before he quickly agreed, he needed to keep his act of not knowing the future up, "I agree to take the quest, I doubt it'll be anything that I can't take." Noah said.

The village lord nodded once more "The monsters in the mountains have been acting up more and more lately, they are gathering into small villages and I have reason to believe that a goblin king has risen, if we allow it to grow into a goblin emperor then the entire village will be doomed, even Gerald and I can't take such an opponent on, so I will need you to go into the mountains and eliminate the threat that is growing within the mountains." The village lord said.

Noah sighed, he regretted saying what he did, the Giant Wolf King was an E rank boss, a Gobling King was a D-rank one, it was much harder to defeat than even the Elite Giant Wolf King, if there was any chance that the Goblin King was an Elite Noah doubted he'd be able to take care of it even if he used his skills above their levels, his stats would simply not keep up, he wouldn't be able to deal damage fast enough for the Goblin King's regeneration to not be able to keep up, Golbin King's were similar to ogre's who healed all physical damage done to them, the only damage they wouldn't be able to heal is magic damage too bad his skills were not suited to become a mage.

"Well I take back everything that I said, I may not actually be able to take care of this one, but I'll see what I can do." Noah said and promptly turned around to leave ignoring the smirking face of the village lord.

[Kill the Goblin King

Description: The village lord wants you to defeat the Golbin King and to take care of the monster villages that have formed in the mountains.

Rewards: 20,000 Exp, 5 gold coins, C-rank skill book, Diamond Goblin hammer.]

"Hoh~ those rewards are quite lucrative, a diamond goblin hammer isn't that simple to get and a C-rank skill book was an incredible reward for a quest in the tutorial, he knew now why most high-rankers had at least partied up with someone that had this quest, the number 1 high-ranker in the game was someone who had done this quest solo, just like Noah was doing now.

Noah sighed once more and left the village lord's building, there were a few shop's he needed to go to, he needed a new set of armor and a new weapon, with the gold he had available he could buy a set of D-rank armor and a D-rank weapon, if he got a good deal and got lucky he might be able to even get a C-rank weapon, but that would almost never happen in the tutorial zone.

Noah entered the armor shop but the highest level armor that was suitable for him was a set of D-rank armor, it gave 25 physical defence and 100 health per piece of armor, it was lamentable that they didn't have C-rank armor as they would often be enhanced with runes which would aide him well in his quest to kill the Goblin King.

But it seemed it was his lucky day, a C-rank weapon was for sale, for 75 silver coins, it would put a big dent into his wallet but it was more than worth it.

[Ebony Broadsword

Rank: C

Description: A fully black broadsword made by a dwarven smith, it is designed to kill monsters with the best efficiency possible.

Damage: 200 ~ 400

Enchantments: Strenght enhancement (+5), Speed enhancement (+5), and Sharpness enhancement (+20% crit chance on normal hits)]

Noah grinned, such a sword would go for tens of gold in the next zone, he'd make a profit even if he sold it after he used it, not that he planned on doing that any time soon.
