1 First system task

It had been a week since Aurus was transported to this world. Contrary to every other transmigration novels, he hadn't regressed or got older with the transmigration and was still 18 years old. If there was a change…

Looking himself in the mirror, Aurus thought for the hundredth time, 'This body is so handsome! White hair, a blue and a red eye, muscular, tanned and 189 centimeters tall. Not to mention the increase of my younger brother down there. Coming into this world, I have received quite the benefit. However, it's weird. How come this body is so similar to my own from back on Earth? I had white hair and blue eyes, I was a little less muscular, tanned and I was 185 centimeters tall. As for my younger brother, it's clearly a benefit.

Not only that, Laia, my sister even has the same name as my dead sister back on Earth. Hell, she looks extremely similar as well. The first time I saw her, I almost thought that my dead sister was alive again. As for my mother in this world, I never actually saw her yet but according to the memories of the dead 'me', she even has the same scar on her hand. It's obviously impossible for both my dead mother and sister to come back to life, just like it is being transported in another world. According to what I could remember using the memories of the other 'me', even the way they talk and act is the same as I remember.

While I can't be sure of anything yet, there's one thing certain, I'm not gonna let any of them get hurt before I find the truth. What if it really is some kind of parallel world and they are indeed my sister and my mother. I'm certainly not going to let them die again, this time, they are going to survive and I'm going to get strong enough to make sure they do.'

While not narcissist, he had to agree that he was even more handsome. He learned when transmigrating that he had a fifteen years old sister and that his mother was at the hospital in artificial sleep while his father had disappeared after the birth of his younger sister. In other words, they had to rely on him to make money while his sister still went to school. This situation was completely different from his family on Earth since both his mother and sister had died but his father had indeed disappeared after the birth of Laia. The more he thought about the similarity between both worlds, the more convinced there was something going on.

In this world, the beasts and monsters were the overlords while humans had to stay in safe zones to survive the attack of monsters. As such, the school was a school for Hunters, explaining how to track monsters, the weaknesses and strength of monsters, how to hunt and kill them and how to improve their cultivation in the future.

Cultivation in this world could only be started at the age of sixteen. Before that age, people could try to cultivate but there wouldn't be any changes in their bodies. They wouldn't be able to collect energy and make a contract with monsters.

There are multiple ranks in cultivation and each rank has three stages namely stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3. Whenever someone's ready for his breakthrough in rank, they have to go and hunt a monster of their own level on their own. However, every Hunter has a big advantage which is the beast contract.

Beast contract is something extremely important in every new rank. Beast contract means that as a Hunter, you can make a contract with a monster which will help you in battle and whenever you need to rank up. Thanks to the beast contract, most Hunters can successfully make their breakthroughs. Moreover, every breakthrough in rank, the Hunter can get a new beast contract slot. As such, every Hunter breaking through becomes more and more powerful giving a chance for humanity to fight against the monsters.

The original owner of this body had tried to make his first breakthrough from the bronze rank to iron rank while relying on an extremely weak and useless contracted beast, a chicken monster. Aurus had no idea why the original owner of the body contracted with such a useless monster. However, luck will have it, when the owner died and Aurus took over the body, the contracted beast which has a contract with the soul left along with the original owner. As such, Aurus could be said to have no contracted beast which meant he would have no problem breaking through in the future.

As for his sister, she was still fifteen years old and would turn sixteen two months later. Most of her classmates already had a beast prepared by their family so that the moment they turned sixteen they could have the best start but she had nothing prepared. The original owner of the body was too weak to help her even though he tried and they didn't have the money to ask for a Hunter to help them capture a beast. In this case, they had both planned on going outside the safe zone in order to find a beast but since Aurus took over, he would, of course, have to take care of his cute younger sister.

The reason why he was so certain of himself? It would have to do with the screen floating in midair in front of him. Yes indeed, a system. The system itself, unfortunately, didn't talk with him and only released a task for him to complete along with a reward.

Aurus had wanted to complete his task earlier. However, the body was hurt and unable to do big movements. As such, he had been resting for a week and it was finally time for him to start completing the quest. It wasn't that difficult. He didn't hesitate to complete the tasks since it was probably the best way for him at this moment. As such, he decided to completely rely on the system until he became strong enough.

[Task: Get a free room to create your shop.

Reward: All the furniture necessary for the shop.]

Obviously, he was too poor to buy a room for the shop. However, their house had four floors. The first floor was a restaurant their mother had worked. The second floor had a living room and a kitchen while the third floor had bathrooms and their rooms. As for the fourth floor, it was actually a floor which they used to store items.

As such, Aurus came down to the first floor and looked at the remaining items. When their mother turned sick, they sold most of the items used for cooking to pay for her treatment and there were five sets of tables and chairs left on the first floor.

Transporting everything to the fourth floor, he was quite happy that the previous owner of the body had been training because, without it, it would have been hard moving everything to the fourth floor by himself.

An hour later, he completely moved all of the furniture out of the first floor and finally, it was completely empty.

While Aurus opened the task icon of the system, he looked back at the task and just now realized the problem. What kind of shop am I going to operate anyway? The system only asks for a room and didn't mention which kind of shop it would be.

'Well, I'm already done cleaning the first floor, so I might as well complete the task and I'll see what kind of shop it is.'

Selecting the first floor of the house, Aurus saw that the task turned from the grey colour to the green colour and a new text appeared next to the task.

[The refurbishment of the shop will start when the user is out of the shop. The refurbishment will take 5 minutes.]

Seeing this text, Aurus made his way back to the second floor and waited for the system to give the rewards for his completed task. Laia was currently at school so it was the best time to receive the reward of the system. He was also extremely curious about what kind of shop the system would create for him.

Time is never fast when you are waiting for something and finally after waiting for 5 minutes, he made his way back to the first floor of his house. What was waiting for his arrival was a completely different room than it was before. The brown walls were now completely white which gave Aurus the impression of extreme cleanliness. The ceiling had a few suspended luminaires made of diamond which perfectly illuminated the room. The floor was made of clean black wood and the side of the room with the door was completely made of glass which went from the ceiling to the floor. The door was an automatic door that would open whenever one made their way to the door.

When one entered the shop, there was a counter on the left side of the room which was where the clients would have to pay for their expenses and in addition to the counter, there were small display cabinets on the walls all around the shop and in the center was a small number of display cabinets made of crystal. It was easy to understand that the items in the center of the shop would be extremely luxurious goods.

On top of the display cabinets, were posters with a word that separated each element. There were 12 different posters that showed all the different known elements: Water, fire, air, earth, metal, illusion, shadow, light, ice, lightning, poison and wood. In this world, basic monsters were only related to a single element and the more advanced monsters could use multiple elements and they had to train them all in order to successfully evolve.

With the counter, posters and display cabinets, the shop wouldn't have a lot of space to move. However, the system seemed to have thought of everything as the space inside the shop was bigger than before.

Finishing reviewing the new shop, he looked at the system and noticed that a new icon had appeared. The shop icon. Opening the icon, it was a miniature shop. Touching on the screen, he understood that he could control everything in the shop except for the furniture which was set there. What he understood was that he would be able to set items directly inside the display cabinets which would save him a lot of time in the future even though he still wasn't aware of it.

On top of the shop icon was finally the answer he had been looking for. What was this shop selling? The name of the shop was: Monster cultivation resources. Looking at the shop's name, Aurus felt awkward for a second. The shop's name was extremely bad but on the plus side, it was to the point.

In this world, monsters that have been caught and sold to other hunters are extremely bad. The contract can't be perfect since the monster wasn't exactly willing to make the contract with the Hunter which makes the contract weak and there are chances of them rebelling. As such, shops selling monsters are extremely few and their business is extremely bad since no one wants to buy their own monsters. After all, they are weaker than the ones found by themselves in the wild. On the contrary, a lot of shops tried to transfer to selling monster cultivation resources but those resources are extremely rare and often protected by stronger monsters in the wild who would eat it themselves. Because of it, selling monster cultivation resources is hard to do as well. Not to mention supplying an entire shop, when people find a monster cultivation resource, they use it for themselves and when there are resources on the market, they never stay for long.

As such, when Aurus saw the name of the shop, he understood that in the future the system wanted him to sell monster cultivation resources. However, resources are extremely rare in this world. Because of it, he didn't know how to actually run the shop. However, one thing is certain. When a quest is completed, a new one will appear.
