Reunited

Lorna POV:

He's hurt. I can barely see his blue ice-like skin between the flutters of his shirt. Is it over? I doubt he'll be able to endure it. His body doesn't seem to be the strongest.

I waited a few more seconds for him to drop to the ground, as it was evident that he was greatly injured throughout this battle. Only to be proven wrong as Illian's eyes shot up and exposed a fiery determination that dismissed any doubt I had of him losing this battle.

My heart beat quickly as I watched in anticipation, feeling slightly at ease, waiting for him to deliver a powerful blow. But wait, why was my heart racing? Why did I feel comfort in knowing that he didn't fall? I stood on the side of the school and the X-Men, yet why couldn't I take my eyes off the boy who brought nothing but trouble to my abode?

Was I lying to myself? After looking around I saw nothing but faces of people who wanted nothing to do with me. I call this my home yet I feel rejected and estranged every time I walk through the hallway. Whispers and stares were never far behind me whenever I was in public. No, that's nonsense. There may be people who dislike me and don't accept me, but I still have people who are my friends. Scott, Anna, Jean and others.

Yes, that's right. I have friends. I have people I care about.

But… Do they care about me?

Even with my so-called friends, I've always felt stares from them whenever the topic of Magneto or the brotherhood was brought up. It's become so natural to me that I've acquired a sort of sixth sense in my head that allows me to detect it.

I always felt a feeling of not belonging or not being one of them when I was around them. It seemed that my father's bad reputation had already tarnished my image before I could even make one for myself. Was that all I was? A lonely girl, forced to carry the devious name of the man that brought her into this world. It was probably the same reason why they didn't take me on missions. They just didn't trust me.

But him. The night I spent with him when he told me about the story of the Monkey King, it was the only time since coming here that my sixth sense didn't ring when I was with someone. Since that day I have observed him. The fight with Peter, the outcome of his mission and during this fight.

What I've learned is that he's the same as me. He's an outcast. Although, he probably chose to give himself that reputation and played a part in it. However, the major difference between us is the fact he isn't afraid to put the whisperers and the people who glare, in their place. Whereas I… I didn't do a damn thing about it.

I was always afraid that if I slipped up even slightly, or I stepped out of line, they'd treat me like they thought I was. A daughter of a criminal who decided to follow in her father's footsteps.

Illian was right. He said that these people were the same as what they had hated most, yet they unknowingly treated others with that same suffering. Was a place like this really worth staying?

It was then that I noticed Scott yell at the top of his lungs.

"Hey, asshole! You forgot about me!" In saying this, he released a missile of a beam from his eyes, threatening to cook Illian alive.

What was he going to do? He's already too injured to fight any longer. This final attack would've allowed him to change the tides in this battle. Best case scenario, he blocks or dodges Scott's attack, but he loses what may be his last chance before collapsing.

That's it. It's over for him.

But why…Why the hell are my hands moving? My mind is telling me no, already knowing where this was going, but my body wouldn't listen. My hands moved up till they fully protruded out.

It was then that the black SUVs of Shield and their guns too, all zoomed to one location. Crashing into each other with no control they compacted into one object as the original guns and cars were unrecognisable.

Scott's beam blasted onto the makeshift shield as the heat that was being exerted onto it was evident.

Seconds past until the beam finally subsided and Scott put on his sunglasses. He looked at the strange heated metal, floating in the air as he looked around for the culprit.

Only to be met with the sight of me holding my arms up. After a second, I finally released the metal as it slammed onto the ground with a large CLANK.

"Lorna?" Said Scott as he stared at me, finally putting the pieces together.

"Lorna, what are you doing?!" He asked as he stared at me, giving me that gaze that I detested with every cell in my body.

Looking around, others who had caught on had also given me that same glare. However, this time it wasn't the same. This time I didn't hate the glare. I embraced it. There was no point in trying to change my image, they were never going to change their thought of me. So I might as well just be myself.

However, my inner monologue was soon disturbed as I heard familiar words being yelled.

"RUYI, EXPAND!"

3rd person POV:

A crashing BOOM was heard as everyone in the vicinity was caught in the chaos. Violent winds and medium-sized pebbles threatened to injure the audience as some screamed in fear while others ran for their life.

"Retreat!" Yelled Fury as he called for backup on his walkie-talkie. The very thing he was fearing had occurred. All he wanted was the boy, yet somehow one of his young agents was dead and the X-Men would probably soon follow that same fate.

"Everybody get back into the mansion!" Yelled Hank who held Xavier in his arms, trying his best to make himself be heard in the middle of the disarray. He and Rogue had been guarding and protecting the Professor and the students during the battle. Due to the mass destruction Wukong could cause, they saw it as a fit job while the others took care of him.

Rogue helped Jean get up and evacuate as she felt weakened by the burst of power she had used to try and block Wukong's staff, which proved to be ineffective.

"I felt it. My barrier, he broke through it. I tried my best, but I couldn't protect them." She said as Rogue felt her heart sink.

The violent winds proceeded for a few seconds before it finally subsided, allowing everyone to have a gasp of air that wasn't disrupted by uncontrollable currents.

In the middle of all the chaos, Wukong sat on his knees as he gasped for air. His staff towered over him as it grew to the size of a house.

He held his ribs as blood dripped from multiple wounds on his face. The frostbite was also taking a toll on him as he ironically felt a burning sensation from it.

'Damn, I was trying to kill these bastards. My control over Ruyi is still pathetic.' He said as he retracted his staff, witnessing Colossus with mangled arms which he tried to block with, laying on top of the crushed Gambit. It didn't seem that he was dead, just extremely injured. If he didn't get medical attention soon he would succumb to his injuries.

As he struggled to get up, Wukong started to hear clapping above him. As he darted his eyes upward, he was met with a man dressed peculiarly, descending from the air as he was followed by three others.

"I'm impressed, young one. You've managed to single-handedly take on the X-Men by yourself." Said the man as he landed on the floor. He wore a helmet and a cape, making him look all the more stranger. The others that followed were a giant of a man, clad in metal and bulky armour as he grunted and frowned.

Another that stood beside him had a unique and distinctive physical presence. He had a short and somewhat hunched stature, with a lean and wiry build. Paired with his skin that had a pale shade of green, giving him an amphibian-like appearance.

Finally, the last follower looked quite normal compared to the other two. Other than his skin tone which depicted a golden hue, giving him an ethereal and radiant presence, paired with hair that fashioned the same colour and calm eyes, he didn't stand out too much.

"I am Magneto. I've come to you today to…" Before he could finish, he was rudely interrupted.

"Hey, before you start your supervillain introduction, I just want you to know that I don't give a crap. It's been a long day. Let's get this over with." Said Wukong as he cursed inwardly. First Shield now the Brotherhood of Mutants. His luck today was abysmal.

The toad-like follower gritted his teeth as he was seconds away from lunging at the foul-mouthed brat before he was given a mean stare from the helmet-wearing leader. Nonetheless, Magneto showed no offence to this remark. Instead, he smiled and chuckled slightly.

"I'd be annoyed too if I was injured as badly as you are. Elixir." After saying this, the man with golden skin and hair, no older than Wukong, walked to him and held his hand out.

Wukong wasn't in the best condition. He couldn't even really move properly. All he could do was hold his staff in his hand, ready to expand it if they tried anything fishy.

As the man placed his hand on Wukong, he felt a warm sensation run through his body. The biting pain of the frostbite, as well as the bulging misery of the multiple wounds on his head, had all started to dwindle. Soon after, it was completely gone.

The man removed his hand from Wukong as he stood up, feeling as good as new.

'Wow. Well, that's convenient.' He thought as he clenched his fist and checked his body for wounds.

"Like I was saying, I would like you to join us. Leave this burdensome world and these limiting individuals like the X-Men. Join us and we'll accomplish our dreams together."

"Yeah, I'm good." Said Wukong with a face of indifference.

"The whole team thing sucks. I think I'll just count on myself from now on. Besides, you wouldn't be able to assist me in achieving my dreams."

Saying this, Magneto stared at the boy with a face that was hard to read.

"Don't reject my offer so quickly. Sleep on it." Said Magneto.

"Yeah, I'll be sure to do that. Bye," said Wukong sarcastically as he started to dig his staff into the floor.

"Wait!" A voice came from beyond the never-ending dust cloud that the two parties stood inside, after a few seconds, a green-haired girl emerged from it.

"Take me with you." Said Lorna as she stood behind Wukong.

"Hey, you're the one that stopped the blast from hitting me aren't you." Asked Wukong. He wasn't stupid, he already knew why she wanted to leave the X-Mansion. If she didn't leave now with him, she would, later on, leave with her father anyway due to the problems that she faced getting worse.

"Yes. I am." She said simply, trying her best to quicken this conversation.

"Hmm, well you are strong. What else do you bring to the table? Do you have food? I'm famished." Said Wukong as he felt his stomach eating itself.

"Well, no. But I'm a decent cook." She said, which made Wukong think.

"No food for right now, but if I wait a while and we find a kitchen, you'll be able to cook me some decent food. Well, food later is better than no food at all. Let's go."

'Did he really just agree to take me solely based on the fact that I can cook? He's a mess." Thought Lorna as she stared at Wukong.

"What are you waiting for? Wrap your arms around my neck and hold on."

"What are you going to do?" Asked Lorna as she doubted the boy.

"You'll see." He said simply.

"Hey, by the way, what happened to all your wounds?" Asked Lorna as she noticed something that's been bugging her.

"Oh, that old guy had his friend heal me." He said as he pointed behind him.

"Who? There's no one there." Saying this, Wukong looked back, only to see she was right. They had disappeared.

"Oh well. Alright, hang on." As he said this, she hung on and prepared for whatever he was about to do.

Simultaneously, the dust had dissipated and the Professor with the rest of the X-Men, watched the two in an embrace.

"Ruyi, Expand." Saying this, he held onto his staff as it shot him up into the sky at great speeds, rocketing him away from the X-mansion. Everyone watched the two leave their sight quickly as they were left speechless.

Meanwhile, Magneto stood with his minions as he watched the two with sharp eyes as if he were plotting something.

Wukong struggled to keep his grip as he could feel his hands starting to slip. The green hair of the girl that tightly gripped his neck, slapped him in the face as they struggled to breathe.

Soon, after they had ascended the cloud, Wukong retracted the staff as they came to an abrupt stop.

"What was that!? We're falling, what now!?" Screamed Lorna as they started to quickly lose altitude.

"I'm not really sure! It's a miracle we made it this far." Shouted Wukong.

Lorna stopped herself from pummeling the idiot as she tried to focus. She had the ability to fly, however, she struggled with more than one person. As she started to concentrate, one could feel their descent getting slower.

Wukong held his staff as he thought about expanding and creating a platform they could land on.

"Ruyi, Expand!" But nothing happened.

"Come on, don't fail me now! Expand!" However, it still didn't Expand. The battle today had taken a toll on him. He had lost too much energy. The man that healed him only healed his physical wounds, he was still exhausted. He kept repeating it and Lorna could be seen sweating as she started to lose control.

The ground came closer and closer until it was visible. Soon, they would be completely smeared across the ground.

"Crap crap crap CRAP!" Wukong started to panic as they were less than a minute away from smashing into the ground.

It was then that a familiar screen he hadn't seen since the first time he came to this world, popped up in front of him.

[You are worthy to wield the Somersault Cloud]

Sun Wukong stood in awe as he gazed upon the text before him. His eyes widened with disbelief, and a mix of excitement and doubt surged through his being. After all this time, he was finally going to be reunited with his beloved cloud.

"Hahaha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Wukong burst out in laughter as he held his stomach.

"Why are you laughing?! We are about to die! Do something!"

Shooting out both his arms and legs as if he was about to hug something, Wukong took a deep breath as he said the magic word.

"NIMBUUUUUUUUS!"
