Breathing

A while later

The crew were walking through a desert with a new camel companion! His name was Eyelashes and he only carried women. What an asshole.

Yami was walking with only shorts and his scarf. Zoro looked at his scar and Usopp said "What happened?" Yami touched his scar and said "Some bastard. I got him later though. I even took his head as a trophy." he pulled out Jugram's head and showed them. Usopp was spooked and shouted "YOU CARRY THAT AROUND!?"

Zoro said "Nice." Yami replied with a proud smile "I know right?" before putting the head back. Usopp was still traumatized. Zoro said "How come I've never heard of you before? Who's your teacher?" Yami said "Well, mostly because I'm not from here... My teacher..." he remembered Oetsu and added flatly "He's annoying."

Yami smiled and said "He kept telling me I was his successor but I refused every time. He was called the God of Swords where I'm from. He made swords for everyone, his personal sword was so sharp that it couldn't stay in a sheath, he had to carry it around in a tank of jelly."

Zoro was amazed and said "A tank of jelly!?" Yami nodded and said "He said it was a failure though because it didn't fit the most basic requirement of going into a sheath. He was a big sword freak. Also, I use a technique called 'Breathing' when I fight. It's the basis for my swordplay."

Zoro said "Breathing?" unfamiliar with the term, Yami explained "You breathe while you fight, it's ingrained in styles. The more oxygen you can pump through your blood, the stronger you are essentially. I created my own breathing style to go with it, it's called Oni Breathing Style. It had 15 Forms."

Zoro mumbled "Breathing, huh..." Yami turned to the side and said "This is the first movement." he breathed in and out as he slashed upwards, sending a purple wave out from the ground and slicing a rock formation in half with clean and smooth edges. Zoro watched and said "What are those marks on your face?"

Yami explained "When you get to a certain heartrate and body heat, you'll get marks on your body that drastically increase your strength and speed. They're different for all forms of breathing styles, mine just happen to be like this." he looked at Zoro and said "There's also a state you can reach, which is called 'Total Concentration: Constant'. It's constantly breathing at all times, even when you're asleep. As the breathing strengthens your body, constant breathing will improve your body at all times."

Zoro said "Huh?! Teach me!" Yami scratched his head and said "You have to create a breathing technique first..." Yami dug into his backpack pack and took out a tall stack of books, adding "These are all the breathing styles I've seen and recorded. My dad helped me get them all, but I study these regularly to improve my own Breathing method."

Yami held the stack and showed Zoro the Oni Style, continuing with an excited mood "This is the one I came up with myself! Though, I would make my own if I were you. Only using these for a reference for the foundations of your style. I've never seen anyone use 3 swords, so it might be tough, but I can help you!" Zoro smiled and said "Thanks, Yami." Yami smiled and said "No problem!"

They talked for the entire day and arrived at Yuba only to find out that the Rebel army was near Nanohana, Vivi decided to go back tomorrow and everyone went to rest. Well, almost everyone. Luffy was helping the old man dig for water, while Yami and Zoro stayed up, trying to create a Breathing style for Zoro. Yachiru was sleeping in Yami's scarf with a big smile and a little bit of drool, covered in Yami's scent.

The duo created the foundations for Zoro's Breathing Style, but it didn't have a name as of right now. It was still in the works, Yami copied all the Breathing Styles and gave Zoro the stack of copies so he could use them if Yami wasn't around.

Yami returned the originals into his backpack and they continued training, both of them having Weights on at all times. Sanji and Luffy also had the weights on now, while Chopper used the Metal Bones on himself and gained a power up directly. His antlers directly shone with a metallic luster. His hooves were actually made of Keratin like Yami's horns so they weren't metal but Reindeer antlers were made of bones, so he got the upgrade there.

Basically, Metal Bones were the best thing for Chopper specifically. The Metal Antlers even shed once a year! (Did you know that? I fucking didn't! Reindeer shed their Antlers once a year! Insane!) He could reuse the metal from his Antlers for anything he wanted!

He tried it out and to Chopper's glee, the bones really did reform and adapt to his zoan transformation capabilities. Which meant that it was good for the rest too! Yachiru already had 'em, so did Yami. Zoro took one, Sanji took one, Usopp never said no to extra defense, Luffy was thrilled and used it right away, and Nami used one after Yachiru said that it didn't change any appearances.

Everyone had Metal bones now. Insane. Yami figured out that the metal was actually in fact Vibranium, not Adamantium. Yami didn't know how strong the people here were but Vibranium bones are super tough, he didn't see a world where their bones broke.

But then again, who knows.

It all depends on the plot really.

They were walking when Luffy suddenly stopped, Vivi said "What's the problem?" Luffy said "I'm not going back. I just want to kick Croc's ass already!" Yami and the rest watched as Vivi screamed at Luffy before punching him in the face for not caring about the lives of others, Vivi got a punch right back and Yami sucked in a breath, he had metal bones, I think he forgot.

Well, they had healing potions for that.

Luffy told Vivi to risk their lives as well! They were friends after all, Vivi cried and thanked him before saying that they were going to Rainbase, where Croc's Casino was. Yami healed her up and said "Would you like Metal bones too? I think your skull was just fractured in several places. Though it's fine now."

Vivi said "I'm okay, thanks." she smiled at him and added "You're a really nice guy." Yami blanked and said "I have a girlfriend, you know." Vivi giggled and said "I know." before getting up and leading the way to Rainbase.

Yami scratched his head and followed the group while Yachiru puffed her cheeks next to him, he smiled and held her hand as they went on their way to find Crocodile and beat him up.
