Chapter 3: So Tired

Waking up the first thing Cyrus did was open his phone and check up on the money simulator app.

[Money Simulator System

LVL: 2

Current Mining Speed: $0.50/min

Mined: $253.20

Withdraw

Upgrade: $1,000]

"Let's go!"Cyrus shouted as soon as he saw how much he was sleeping.

"Can you be any louder? It's 6 am dude." A sudden voice interrupted Cyrus.

"My bad" Was all Cyrus said not even looking at his roommate, after all that argument that had lasted a couple of weeks was still on Cyrus' mind.

'Fuck I mined more than what I make in a day at work! That withdraw button is looking kinda hot right now' Cyrus's mind drifted as he looked at the withdraw button.

'No, I have to wait until 9, besides I have no classes today meaning I can take a 12-hour shift, but then again do I really need to take a 12-hour shift?'

As soon as that thought came to Siuirs mind, his whole thinking process stopped.

After all, was there a need to take a 12-hour shift if he was making money every minute? Plus he was probably going to make way more than what he usually made just on his phone.

At the same time, what would he do after he paid off his college loans and was debt free and the money simulator system wasn't a scam but a real deal?

More and more questions soon popped up into Cyrus' mind, at the same time the question of whether he would still go to college if he didn't have to.

'Calm down Cyrus you're thinking too much about the future, just focus on now and think about those loans, that's all you need to do, just pay off the loans and think about everything later' Cyrus said to himself while taking a deep breath.

Getting out of bed Cyrus quickly went to brush his teeth and wash his face. Leaving the dorm Cyrus went to a nearby park that was close to his university.

Since it was around 6 am there weren't many people in the park besides some occasional runners and old people that wanted to move their bodies around in the early morning.

Going to a more secluded spot Cyrus sat down and leaned back into a tree, a took a deep breath to quickly put his thoughts into order.

"I think I should cut down my hours now that I have the money simulator system, since I'm making more money with the system my job will soon become a drag and it's not like I working there, I just did it because I had no other choice but to get a job to make money, but now with the system, I can just live freely like those rich kids." Cyrus said to himself.

This was a habit Cyrus had developed when he was younger and in the orphanage, whenever he was faced with a big decision or had a lot on his mind he would go to the park and just sit down in a secluded spot and talk to himself about his problems out loud.

This usually helped him figure out what he truly wanted to do or decide if the choice he was making was great for his future.

"At the same time, I might as well apply to change my major, I don't really like computer programming, in the end, I did it all for the money, but now that money might not be a problem I can just switch to something that'll allow me to not stress so much about homework and quizzes."

"Plus once I cut down my hours I can have more time for myself, and truly start on the journey of self-development" Thinking of this Cyrus looked at his body and let out a wry smile.

He was somewhat tall standing around 188 cm (6'2) with a lanky frame, like really lanky, heck his nickname in high school was a slender man because of his somewhat skinny frame.

Taking out his phone Cyrus quickly opened an app he usually dreaded just seeing logging in Cyrus was met with a red number.

[Current Debt: $184,834.56]

"Let's see with the money-simulator system I'm currently making $720 every 24 hours which gives me about $5,050 every week, and if I put all that into paying off my debt it'll take me about" Quickly putting in the numbers.

"8 months? Well while that's good but, If I upgrade the system it should take me….. around five months, which would also be the time when my when the first semester is over.." Looking at the number a sudden sense of relief came to Cyrus.

"In just five more months I'll be free," Cyrus said to himself.

Taking a deep breath Cyrus slowly stood up and went back to his dorm room with a smile.

=============================================

"Cyrus, register 6 has a carry-out, also you can take your break after this carry out"

"Ok got it" Cyrus replied heading back inside while pushing in 10 carts.

Walking to register 6 Cyrus saw that it was just a bunch of bricks along with some stone slabs.

Quickly helping the customer out and clocking out for his break Cyrus headed to the break room which was upstairs as well as rubbing his eyes.

'Why am I so mentally tired?' Cyrus thought to himself.

For some reason he was already mentally tired even though it had already been three hours into his shift, he had decided on six-hour shifts from now on and for some reason the moment he came to work all he could feel was despair.

'Why am I asking myself the obvious, I'm only mentally tired because I know I don't need this job anymore, after all with my current living expanse plus my gym stuff that I'm going to buy soon, I only need around $200 to have a fun week, heck I can survive on $150 If I don't waste money on stupid things' Cyrus said to himself.

Even though he talked himself into keeping his job for at least until he paid all his current debt, the mental exhaustion he was feeling from having to force himself to keep a smile and talk cheerfully to customers which was never a problem in the past was now weighing in heavily since he didn't need the job.

"It's okay, just five more months until I can quit. Besides, I'm only going to be working 18 hours every week which is better than the 40-46 hours I used to work." Cyrus said, trying to cheer himself up.

Which worked until.

"Cyrus your 15 minutes are over I need you to hop onto register seven for a while to keep the lines down" A voice came for his walkie-talkie.

Looking at the time on his phone Cyrus saw that 15 mins had actually passed while he was going over whether this job was right for him or not.

"This is Cyrus I'm coming over copy" Cyrus wistfully responded dragging himself to what felt like hell for some reason.

Things are kinda gonna go slow for the next couple of chapters as Cyrus focuses on, paying off his debts.
