An Upset Mother-in -Law

"So, does that mean you'll forgive me?" Aria asked; her delicate hands tugged at Carter's shirt as she pleaded sincerely.

Carter shook his head visibly before he patted Aria's head.

Unlike humans, bonds, however, were different; compared to humans, the speed at which they could adapt to certain circumstances was something Carter found quite fascinating.

Shifting his gaze elsewhere, his lips parted slightly as his golden eyes shimmered.

"Ivy, from now on, that's your name."

"Huh?" Having heard his words, Aria looked upwards into his golden eyes.

Just staring at those eyes of his, Aria felt a sense of familiarity; a feeling that she had yet to discover.

Was it the desire to kill? Was it the desire to protect? Whatever it was, all that could be told was that Aria found this inexplicable feeling quite empowering.

Some time eventually passed, and after temporarily placing Aria aside, who was seemingly in a world of her own at the moment, Carter then approached Ivy; the sparrow he took in on that rainy night.

With each step he took, Carter could see those loving brown eyes shimmer.

Hearing his words, Ivy couldn't help but unconsciously take a step aback.

However, this just made Carter somewhat even more intrigued.

This game of theirs continued until Carter even felt somewhat fed up.

This was a thing that he discovered that he could do.

However, this wasn't just the extent of his powers. Carter could now use this ability continuously until the given ran out.

Of course, he could control whether or not he wanted to do such a thing, but then again, he considered the thought of why do that when he could take this as an opportunity to further strengthen his abilities.

Now, with time being temporarily slowed down, Carter then wrapped his hands around Ivy's waist. He then lifted her chin upwards and gave her a slight smile.

And with another snap of his fingers, time returned to normal.

With another snap, a pair of chairs appeared before Carter's very eyes.

While there were other means to have caught up to Ivy, Carter didn't really see the fun in it compared to his other abilities.

Unlike Lily, Ivy was more of the scheming type; her personality, however, had just begun, so it wouldn't take long for her to become someone who'll be extremely helpful in the near future.

Regardless, Carter decided not to put too much thought into it as to not embarrass Ivy.

Since the girl liked maid series, he decided to have her do as she pleased.

Hence he just made them do as they pleased.

Shaking away his thoughts, he then watched as Ivy and Aria played elsewhere.

Carter also noticed Aria's curious gaze, but due to Ivy's constant plea, Aria didn't stand much of a chance.

Now his main focus was on Lily who has abruptly left with a single notice.

It's just like last time.

Shaking away his thoughts, Carter then focused his attention elsewhere.
