Chapter 15 : Passing away

Pah!

pah ! pah ! pah! pah!

Slaps were resounding all around and the sound echoed through out the dungeon floor.

When Samael "woke" up, the first thing he felt was throbbing pain all over his face. Truth be told, he had long woken up, it was just that he had pretended to still be unconscious in order to gather information about his environment and about this assailant who was whacking him up.

From what he had gathered so far, things were bad, very bad. First of all whoever was smacking him up was not any of his parents, he was absolutely sure of that.

Another thing was the echo from the slaps. What he had done was that he had used echolocation using the reflected sound waves to triangulate his position and sense his surroundings. Since living organisms mostly absorb sound waves and not reflect them, the conclusion he had came to draw was that, there was no other living organism around him except for his assailant hence the rebounding sound waves.

"Oh you decided to wake up. Sadly, I never had the time to introduce myself to your parents but my name is Marcel De Vonte. I am truly pleased to make you an acquaintance and although our time together will be but a fleeting moment, I will make sure to cherish it to the best of my ability. "

Samael raised his head to see a handsome golden clothed figure looking down on him like a celestial admiring his mortals. Dang* what a magnificent creature he was! His handsomeness was absolutely out of this world and his manner of speech was just suave. Samael lost his senses and was drown in the euphoria of being in the presence of such beauty. He was frozen for a moment and when he came back to himself he was truly disgusted by what had transpired. He cringed at the thought of what he had done. What the hell was wrong with him? Damn , damn, damn. He realized how he had unconsciously acknowledged a male for his handsomeness. A suspicious stranger for that matter, and to make it worse, that stranger had been beating him up. He quickly stepped back in fright. What ever this was and whatever was going on, he was not a fan of it and he would rather run than face it.

Hold on a second. Where the hell were his parents and why was this guy, Marcel was it? the only one here? Something strange was really going on. He started to sneakily look around for any sign of his parents while also maintaining his vigilance against that guy Marcel.

All this time, Marcel watched Samael in silence but that did not last very long. "You are really a spawn of evil. Even your thoughts reek of a foul stench. Your very presence disgusts me. Worry not young spawn, I will send you on your merry way to join your parents."

It was then that Samael spotted his parents' headless corpses. He stood still as if he was struck by lightning, his heart beat started thumping faster like a galloping horse, his mind went haywire and tears streamed and flowed from his eyes. He felt as if some ghastly hands were crushing and grinding his very soul.

Even though he had been a killer on earth and had seen and caused death more than he could remember, in Fellos he was still just a kid. His will was still weak and the trauma from losing his parents in his previous life came back to haunt him. His veins started popping up all over his body from the overwhelming pressure of his blood flow. He started shaking all over his body, his mind went blank and he fainted. Again.

"Hey hey hey, don't die on me yet. I will be then one to kill you." Marcel said while casting a healing spell on Samael.

When Samael woke up again and still found two pairs of lifeless eyes of the only people he knew and got to cherish, Samael started to wail in a soundless scream. In his fumbled up mind, different and messed up thoughts and questions were swirling. ("Why ....why did you have to die? You guys were strong were you not? why are u dead? Wake up, wake up , wake up - you can't die. Please wake up.") As this happened, everything that his parents had done for him was flashing between his very eyes.

Their smiles, their concerns and the love he saw in their eyes. True enough, he did not reciprocate their love the way he assumed they wanted. He was selfish in his quest for strength and power to mind them and the fact that he knew that he was a reincarnate and was not truly from this world did not help. But, that did not mean that he did not love them in his own twisted way. He appreciated and acknowledged them in his own way. The reason he was hesitant to show them his emotions was because he was afraid. He was afraid that as soon as he bared his emotions for them, something like this would happen and he did not want to go through the pain of losing someone he loved again. The same thing that happened to his previous parents.

He was batting his time, waiting to grow strong enough to protect himself and them. Only then would he have truly been brave enough to express his feelings to them. That was his plan all along, allas! things never did work out. At the end of the day, this proved that he was nothing but a coward.

("I am sorry, I am so sorry, I am so sorry I was not strong enough and you died protecting me. Please forgive me.") Samael knew that the reason his parents could not escape as they had always done was because of him. They knew that they could not disturb him while he was attempting his breakthrough in soul energy. ("This is all my fault, my fault, my fault.") he repeated that over and over in his head.

And so for several hours, Samael was crying while internally blaming himself for their deaths.

"Enough!" Marcel thundered.

"I have given you enough time to mourn, even though evil creatures like you do not deserve it. As a matter of fact, I was not doing it for you. I just enjoyed seeing an evil spawn like you getting the torture it deserved but I am now getting bored."

" You are even making it more boring because I cannot even hear your damn scream. You mute! What a cursed creature you are. But no bother, before I send you on your way, I want to give you a message that you should take to your parents and writing that message will begin now. But first let me give you an appetizer."

He then uttered, "BURN".
