1 Dystocia

"It's a placental abruption! We need to do an emergency cesarean section!" 

In the VIP Delivery Room of St. Mary's Hospital in the capital, a midwife rushed out. Outside the delivery room, a man with an extraordinary demeanor had his hands in his pockets. He was waiting impatiently. Beside him stood a circle of high-level hospital directors. 

"Where are her family members? It's very dangerous for a pregnant woman to have a placental abruption! If the child is not delivered in time, her life will be in danger! The doctor is arranging for treatment. We need her family members to sign the papers now. Should we protect the mother or the child?" 

"What if I say that we don't want to protect either" The man smiled contemptuously, causing the midwife and other doctors to look at each other in horror.

After saying that, the hospital director turned to the man and said respectfully, "Don't you agree, Mr. Qin?" 

"Yes!" A delicate female voice came from the corridor. The midwife turned around and saw a beautiful woman with makeup walking slowly from the corner. The high heels under her feet clicked on the ground, producing a crisp sound. 

"Xiao..." the woman walked over and held the man's arm. Then, she splayed her entire upper body on the man's body. 

Following the woman's arrival, the midwife smelled a rich fragrance. 

"Why is Shi Shi here? She will be fine. Giving birth is a miracle," the man said with heartache. 

"When my baby sister gives birth, how can I not come and visit as an older sister? Xiao, why don't we go in and take a look at our sister? After all, she is giving birth to my father's grandchild!" The woman said coquettishly. 

"Okay I'll listen to you, Shi Shi." 

The man lovingly scratched the tip of the woman's nose. The midwife watched in shock as the man and woman swaggered into the delivery room. 

Qiao Nian was sweating profusely in the delivery room. She was in so much pain that she wished she was dead. This was her first delivery, and she had suffered a lot during the delivery process. Currently, she had been injected with anesthetic for a smooth procedure, and the drug was slowly taking effect. 

"My sister—" she watched in horror as her half-sister, Qiao Shi, slowly walked in. She was intimately holding hand with her husband, Qin Xiao! 

When Qiao Shi was three years old, Qiao Tongwen's business venture failed, and Qiao Shi's mother left Qiao Tongwen with Qiao Shi. After that, Qiao Tongwen met Qiao Nian's mother and she subsequently gave birth to Qiao Nian. With the support and efforts of Qiao Nian's mother, the Qiao enterprise was brought back to life. 

Qiao Nian's mother clearly did not interfere in other people's marriages, but Qiao Shi had always hated both Qiao Nian and her mother vehemently. She felt that they were the ones who took away her happiness and wealth. 

"Good work, my sister!" Qiao Shi smiled sinisterly. "The two of us came to see you!" 

"Xiao, why are you with her?" The anesthetic started to take effect. Qiao Nian's mind was filled with doubt and she could not speak. She did not understand why her husband, who had always doted on her, was now with Qiao Shi.

What makes you think that our Xiao would take a fancy to a woman with your background? To tell you the truth, Xiao is actually my boyfriend. He only approached you to help me get back my property! The Qiao's property is also mine. You're just a poor b*tch now!" 

Qiao Nian was so shocked that her pupils dilated. She looked at Qin Xiao in disbelief, hoping that he would tell her that this was all a misunderstanding and that all of this was not real. However, Qin Xiao's words were cold. 

"Yes, how can a dirty thing like you be good enough to stand by my side? How can you be good enough to bear the children of the Qin Family?" At this moment, Qin Xiao's face had changed and he no longer looked kind. 

"When I think of you, I can't help but feel nauseous! You're not even worthy of carrying Shi Shi's shoes! Don't worry. When you die, all of your assets will belong to me. Shi Shi and I will help you take good care of them! As for this b*stard child, we can't keep them. Otherwise, those old b*stards from the board of directors will definitely let them inherit your assets instead of us!" 

After saying that, Qin Xiao lowered his head and kissed Qiao Shi. Qiao Shi also responded to him warmly. The two of them did not hold back at all. They made out obscenely in front of Qiao Nian's hospital bed. 

Qiao Shi leaned over to Qiao Nian's ear and whispered proudly, "My sister, since you're going to die anyway, I might as well tell you one more thing. The b*stard in your womb is not Xiao's baby at all. It belongs to some random man that I found for you at the bar. Hehe, how about it? Are you satisfied with the lover that I chose for you? Haha, be a good sister and take the b*stard that you randomly found in the bar with you to hell!" 

Qiao Nian's head buzzed as with all the shocking new information that flooded into her mind. 

Her marriage to Qin Xiao's was only celebrated in the corner of a small bar. They did not even get their official marriage certificate. 

At that time, Qin Xiao said that it was for her sake. He did not want people to think that he had any designs on her family's property. 

In Qiao Nian's memory, there was only one time when they were together intimately. That night at the bar, Qiao Nian was drunk and almost unconscious, so she only vaguely remembered that the man was tall and had a muscular back, and he had a terrifying scar on his right shoulder blade. "Save my child!" Qiao Nian screamed with the last of her strength as her consciousness gradually blurred.

"You must save her! Do your best!" 

Qiao Nian wanted to open her eyes to see who was trying to save her, but the anesthetic made her lose consciousness. The world seemed to be shrouded in a thick fog, and all sounds and images were blurred. She could only see a tall and cold figure enter the room. 

"Yes Sir!" Before she completely lost consciousness, Qiao Nian heard the doctor's respectful reply.
