Peace at last?

When they reached lake Keeva, Keiro got down with the antinerator in her hand. Even at night time, she could see the lake Keeva shining brilliantly. She knew that if someone jumped into it, even their dead body would not be found. Such was the depth of the lake.No wonder somebody had formed the 'Stare into lake Keeva club'.Keiro wondered whether there would be ghosts around the lake of people who had jumped into it.

Keiro now looked one last time at the 'antinerator' in her hand. This was one of those genius inventions of Roju. He could become the richest person on the planet overnight if he revealed this invention. Keiro could become his manager or something and their life would be set. But she knew that humankind won't rest with it. They will want more, they would play with the technology behind it and destruction would follow. The thing in her hand was worse than a nuclear bomb. She gulped sadly. The world was not ready for Roju and Roju was not ready to face the world as of now. The peace of their planet rested in her hands.

"What's that box?" Moncee asked looking at the box.

Keiro: "My pencil case."

Moncee: "That's one very large pencil case."

Keiro: "I think it's ugly too." Saying this she threw the antinerator into lake Keeva.It fell into the lake with a splash and disappeared into its depths.

Moncee blinked, but he did not say anything. Keiro came back and climbed onto the bike.

Keiro: "We are done here. Let's go back."

Moncee: "You do not want to thank me or anything?" He asked when they got back to school.

Keiro: "Why are you making trouble for our club?"

Moncee: "Err what? Those chickens were definitely not my creation."

Keiro: "Not the chickens! Why did you dig up all the banned stuff we threw away? You must have plenty of free time President..."

Moncee wrinkled his brow.

Moncee: "Oh, so you guys got enemies other than me?"

Keiro was surprised at his question. If not for Moncee who would it be? She remembered the MFC ganging up on her. She could not think of any other possibility. They must have been upset that she gave the chickens to the farmer's club instead of gifting it to them.

Keiro: "I guess I mistook you.But what about Jenden Pardo? Why did you knowingly destroy his presentation?"

Moncee sighed.

Moncee: "You should be thanking me.The scholarship he was going to get was for the best science student in our school. You and I know who deserves it better. He was desperate to cover up Roju's experiments because he did not want Roju to take his place."

Keiro had not thought about this possibility. She felt a little ashamed of herself for thinking that Pardo was doing it to help her. Keiro looked at Moncee.No.She wasn't touched or anything. He was a gangster after all, she should not let her guard down.

Keiro: "I am sorry and thanks I guess..."

Moncee: "So have we made peace or what?"

Keiro nodded and they shook hands.
