How she planned her revenge

Today was a bad day for Keiro. So many things had happened in one evening. She had lost her crush to someone, an accident had happened involving Roju and also half of the moon had disappeared. In other words, she was not thinking straight when she stormed into the council room and grabbed the collar of the council President.

Moncee stood up from where he sat with a look of disbelief and surprise. And when he stood up, Keiro suddenly realised how well built he was. She felt a little intimidated. That picture of those gangsters flying left and right from his blows suddenly flashed infront of her. What was she thinking?

Keiro: "I just wanted to wish you a good evening, President."

Keiro said that while slowly taking her hands off his collar.

Moncee: "It's my first time being wished this way."

Keiro: "Then I shall be leaving."

Moncee looked at Keiro as she left. He shook his head and sat back in his chair. The rest of the council members watched the scene with wide eyes.

When Keiro got back to the dorm she thought hard about what she should do. President Moncee had clearly crossed the line this time. Instead of confronting him head on, she should retaliate in secret if she wanted to remain alive. Her best bet right now was Han Marsha. She should buy her old friend a fancy dinner tomorrow.

Next day

9.00 am

It was Sunday.

Keiro was in her dorm trying hard not to watch the news. NASA and every other space agency had confirmed it, half of earth's beloved moon had been destroyed. Every news channel discussed it. All the scientific organisations and intelligence agencies were on its tail. Everyone on earth was interested in the event. They all wanted to know what happened to the moon.

Keiro looked at the bag that lay under her bed. She gulped thinking about the antimatter gun which was in it.

It's just a water gun, a water gun, she told herself.

Keiro had to get her homework done. So, she got up and made her way to the library. On the way there, she met with Jenden Pardo.

Pardo: "Are you also going to the library?"

Keiro: "Yes."

Pardo: "Did you watch the news? At first I thought it was a joke, but half of our moon has actually disappeared."

Keiro: "Yeah, I saw it on the news too. I couldn't believe it."

Somehow talking with Pardo calmed her down. They sat in the library and finished their homeworks. Even if the world were falling apart, one still had to finish their homework.

When they got out, Keiro offered to treat Pardo for lunch.

Keiro: "You've been a huge help. I want to thank you for yesterday. "

Pardo: "Yes. Lunch would be great. Where do you want to go?"

Keiro tried to feel the excitement. This could be a date! But in reality she was only trying to distract herself. She was going on a date with a nice guy who was also the science club leader. Too bad she was not enjoying it. When she passed by the street she kept looking back to see whether there were intelligence agents following her. When she got into a nearby restaurant she wondered whether the waiter was an agent in disguise.

Pardo: "Are you alright? You seem to be nervous..."

Keiro: "Yes..."

Pardo smiled kindly. Looking at him smile, Keiro felt somewhat relieved. She took a deep breath and calmed down.

Just then President Moncee passed by the restaurant. When their eyes met, he came up to them. To their surprise, he took Pardo by the collar.

Pardo: "President..."

Moncee: "Good afternoon, Pardo!"

He released Pardo's collar and laughed.

Pardo seemed relieved after hearing him laugh. Though Keiro sat speechless.

Moncee: "Are you surprised? Apparently this is a new way to greet people these days. Keiro taught it to me."

Moncee laughed a little more and went his way.

Keiro was thinking, 'You won't laugh long, Moncee.'

Xx Restaurant

Han Marsha and Keiro sat opposite a table for two. Keiro pushed a menu card toward her.

Keiro: "Order whatever you like."

Han Marsha: "So, what is it that you want?"

Keiro: "I need information on Moncee."

Marsha: "I think we've had this conversation before."

Marsha pushed the menu card back to Keiro.

They say information is power. Keiro had realised it early on that this held true in her high school, too.

Han Marsha who sat in front of her looked like an ordinary high schooler on the outside. She had a lean built which never changed no matter what she ate and those round black glasses on which was more of a fashion statement than a necessity. She walked and talked like typical high schoolers.

But, this very Han Marsha was one of the most powerful students in her school because of her ability to collect information. Keiro had wondered how she could do that, but Marsha kept her sources a secret.

Keiro: "I don't want dirt on him. Just tell me what he's doing these days. That shouldn't be a problem. Should it?"

Keiro opened the menu card and kept it in front of Marsha.

Keiro: "I just want to know how he is doing and what he is doing... Think of me as his fan."

Marsha considered the menu for a moment. She ultimately fell to temptation.

Marsha: "I heard the presentation club is working on something for the Prez. He'll present it at an inter-school science seminar. He'll probably leave in the morning for the capital where it will be taking place."

Keiro smiled.

Keiro: "A seminar, eh? That would do."

After getting back to school, Keiro slipped into the presentation club's room. It was a neat little room with computers here and there. It did not take long for Keiro to find out where Moncee's presentation was. All she had to do was look into the top priority folders. As expected, they were password protected. But these club members were sure to be Moncee's fans! Keiro tried various combinations.

Moncee123

MM123

Monceemylove etc etc.

Then she looked up his birthday and tried combinations with it. Bingo! It worked!

After messing with the presentation to her heart's content she sent it to Moncee's e-mail, satisfied.

You asked for this President, you should not mess with me and Roju!, thought she.

Keiro couldn't sleep well that night, for various reasons.

News reader : "Emergency Conference by world leaders on the disappearance of half the moon, ended in chaos as various countries blamed each other for the Incident.

President of the Divided states of Antarctica, the world's most powerful country, promised that whoever stole the moon would face 'consequences' .

Meanwhile some speculate that an alien planet had taken away our moon for their own planet. Apparently they had kept half of it back, out of pity for us."
