Regional Finals and State Tournament

A/N: From the skills which were commented till now, I think fishing, cooking, and photography are good, so I will add them when I write the stats when he enters high school and The comment saying that he should start a sports business, I think it is good and I almost forgot that he had an AI that can help in all sorts of things, so I will add something in the coming chapters regarding it, Now on to the chapter.

MC POV

As we entered the indoor gymnasium of our school, the noise inside the gym felt like we entered a bigger area. The whole gym was almost full and all were fans of our school and the rival school's fans couldn't even cheer for their team.

The teams started to warm up and the game was about to start. I look in the audience, and I see uncle Cam has made a sign for our team and me, grandpa was also in a nice mood, even though grandma as moved out of the house and the divorce was near them and my parents were also there, but Alex and Haley were both in school and will come later and uncle Mitch was on his way with Luke.

The game started after some time and after the first quarter, there was no other choice on who will be the final winner of the game, as our team was almost 30 points ahead and that will remain that way because, in this regionals, our team has not conceded more than 20 points in a whole game on average.

and that is what happened at halftime the score was 60-12 and I score about 38 points from those 60 points and the coach asked me to sit on the bench after halftime. During halftime, the cheerleaders from both teams did their performances and looking at the opposite team's cheerleaders, they were not in the mood as their team was about to be destroyed in the remaining half as well.

The final score of the game was 80-19 and we won the regional title, without a hiccup the MVP of the tournament was chosen to be me as I averaged around 35.3 points and 12 rebounds per game in the 24 games we played in this regional tournament.

and according to our seed which will be first, we have to win another 12 matches to win the state tournament, but that is for the future, as now it is time to celebrate.

Claire POV

My baby has won his first tournament and it was not a surprise to anyone in the family as we have seen the matches they played before and this match was not a big difference from them and looking to my side, I see all the family members are very happy, even Alex as she has a competitive relation with Nate from the time they were kids but only from her side as Nate also stated in the past that she is his little sister and what she wants goes, even if she wants to compete with him and he does not make it easier on her, getting good grades almost perfect every time and still practice basketball like any other player on the team, even more than them sometimes and but does not gloat in front of her and helps her all the time, that's why even after competing for the past couple of years the relationship between them, does not deteriorate and same goes for Haley, as she is free spirit like her mom, but Haley is too free and does not see the need the compete for anything as she choose to remain popular based on her looks.

But one time, after talking to Nate in the girls' room for quite a lot of time, she too changed but only a little, and when Nate is around to admonish her for her bad behavior or bad grades. He sometimes teaches her himself and one time even gave her his own money as a reward, when asked where he got the money, he said he got it when he worked as a newspaper boy last summer and he made a bet with dad on SuperBowl Sunday, on who will win and with his friends and won the pot, in his words, I was very angry on him gambling his money like this, but he said that his grandpa was acting cocky in front of his club friends and he did not like that color on dad, so he made the bet to take them down a notch and when asked, what would he do if he lost, then he gave me "the" look, which he gives everyone if they don't believe in him.

That happened, he came to the bleachers, where we were sitting a moment ago, and hugged me, and then Phil and he did their handshake, which I thank god is not the same as Phil had with our neighbor kid, who adored Phil when Nate and Haley were toddlers. Then, Nate hugged his grandpa and uncles and last were his favorite sisters, which he like to call either one of his sisters, to spite each of them against each other and it worked this time as well, but he stopped the fight himself when he hugged both of them and Haley was disgusted because Nate was sweaty but had to hug him and Alex was saying something like "Next time you won't win" and his reply was "yeah, yeah little sister, Dream On."

Then, we went home, but not before celebrating at Maxine's diner and she was also happy that her favorite Pritchet/Dunphy won.

and after dinner, we went home, Nate was tired but was not showing it on his face and ready to start his night's practice, but I urged him to not do that for her and watch their favorite TV show with her. He reluctantly agreed and before the first commercial, he was sleeping soundly with his head on her shoulders I said to Phil to help me to take him to his room and he was heavy, but we both took him to his bed although we hit his head on the corner of the stair, oh well, we'll see if anything happens in the future.

MC POV

After the regional, it was time for the state tournament and we have to take the school bus to the different venues our matches were held we dominated the group stages as we did in the regionals and my scoring average was higher by 2 points and I took fewer shots as well, now that I knew what was my strong areas and concentrated on that and we breezed through the state tournament like the regionals and we were state champions, after quite a lot of time our school was once again state champion and the coach was also happy as this was also her final years coaching middle schoolers and she would be coaching the high school by the time, I would enter the high school team.

The national tournament is not something like March Madness, but an invitational tournament where the best teams from the country would be invited by the organizing committee based on our performance this year, we were top seeds in the tournament, which will be in New York this year, meaning the whole team had to go to NY to play. and the parents/guardians can come but only one was allowed and due to dad's busy work and mom could not come because of Haley, Alex, and Luke, and grandpa was not in the mood when I asked, but he reluctantly agreed and we were now on the airport for our flight to NY with my team and their family members and some of the school support staff was also there.

There was a cheerleading competition also with the main competition, so Gigi was also there with me on this trip and after some time, we boarded the flight from LA to NY.

After landing in NY, we went to our hotel room provided by the school and organizing committee and the day after tomorrow is when the main competition started, but tomorrow was the cheerleading competition and I went to support Gigi and at the end, they won albeit with a small margin of points, but they won regardless and she was very happy and after dinner, the coach asked the team to come to her room to discuss strategy for our opponent and at 10 p.m she asked us to go to our rooms because we have to get up early for some practice before other teams had the place to themselves as there was not a lot of space in the gymnasium and it was a first come first serve basis. I slept soundly and was up before everyone like always and grandpa never went out despite me asking him to go as he said he was not in the mood and that's that.

I was very happy as this is my first national tournament and it was going to be on TV, not ESPN but still it was a TV broadcast and I was thrilled.
