Gloria Delgado

(A/N: The second chapter for the day, because I had free time, I wrote these chapters one after another and this is also one of the reasons for the late update because the previous chapter was also a slice-of-life thing, so I thought how about release two chapter altogether and don't get the idea, it is not every time thing.

*MC POV*

After winning the nationals, the rest of the school year went in a jiffy and I was once again first in our class teachers were asking me to skip grades and go to college and be a scientist, but I stopped them saying that these are my prime practicing years and after my basketball career, I can still become a scientist if I want.

Then we have summer vacation after this school year ends, and during this year's summer vacation I again worked but not the whole summer but for some time and I also worked on the shoe designs(a/n: comment your favorite shoe designs) for my brand with the help of my system and I also purchased an advanced cushioning technology from the system but not that advanced and when I set up the company next year, I also got some of the start-up funds from the trading bots and as the main income will come from the stock market crash of 2008, so for the time being it will be the preliminary work on the company as I didn't even register a company, I'll have to ask Uncle Mitch about this.

And the summer vacation is also coming to an end and this summer we also took the hunting trip with grandpa this time Uncle Mitch also joined us but he almost blew dad's head up with the shotgun, it was a funny and dangerous scene.

As I entered 8th grade this school year and our team is 2-time consecutive national champs I was also made captain before last season's national tournament, so I got that going for me this season as well.

This year the basketball season also came and the difference was that we were not underdogs on the national stage like my first year due to our dominant performances in the past two years and the school was also happy as it helps the school get more funding for the basketball program from donations and event organizers.

So, this year, the school has also given us bonuses in terms of better equipment and more coaches, etc. and this also showed in the regional stage of the tournament where we dominated like last two years, but instead of 38 points, I averaged around 42 points in the 24 games we played and we went on to the state tournament.

As always my parents were busy to come with me for the state tournament games which were out of the city and grandpa tagged along this time, as he was getting fed up with his closet company rival, Earl Chambers from "Closets, Closets, Closets, Closets", once again poached a big order from his company, and to let off some steam, he decided to watch me kick some butts on the basketball court(in his words).

The state tournament was going as usual and we were winning games like last time it was clear in the end that our team will win the state tournament this year as well.

After the semi-final of the state tournament, which we won by a considerable margin, grandpa decided to take me out for some dinner, and first, we gave grandpa's car to get waxed, as it is right beside the diner.

We sat at our table and the waitress came and took our order. Grandpa, as usual, ordered his bacon cheeseburger with extra bacon, there were no veggies on his plate and I order a chicken salad, as this is still basketball season and even though I have a perfect body perk, it never hurts to keep it that way, for relaxation of mind if you will.

As we were waiting for our order, I saw two women sitting 2 tables down from our table and I see the one of show's main characters "Gloria Maria Ramirez Delgado" sitting with his sister talking about something, no offense but she was really loud, I thought it was something the showrunner added later for her character, but here in this life you can hear how loud she was and with her "accent" when sometimes she will talk in English, otherwise they were talking in Spanish.

They were speaking so loudly that the whole diner was attracted to their talk and naturally Grandpa also saw that table and he obviously liked the woman on the table, as he was constantly looking over at them.

As our food came, we began to eat, but there was a memory in the back of my mind, how grandpa meet Gloria in the show and this is the moment and I unexpectedly have become a part of this scene, So I thought, why not nudged the pair in the direction without the misunderstanding like the last time, where Jay thought the "accent" was of Sonia not of Gloria.

After eating dinner, grandpa asked me for dessert and I nodded and that's when grandpa said to the waitress to take a piece of pie to Gloria's table as well, I saw Sonia was not at the table, and grandpa still gave the order to the waitress.

As I know, grandpa was alone in the show when he met Gloria for the first time, and looking at the scene which is unfolding in front of me, I have to make myself scarce before Gloria came to thank Grandpa, as I will not be good wingman if he has to introduce me like "hey! meet my grandson".

So, I told grandpa that I am going to the bathroom just as the waitress was coming with the pie for our and Gloria's table and he looked at me with a questioning gaze, so I told him what I was thinking.

"I will not be a good wingman if I have to introduce myself as your grandson," I said.

Then realization came to his face and he and I gave our signature "smirk" to each other, I acted like I was going to the bathroom, but in reality, I just went around the corner to see the scene with my own eyes.

And Just like grandpa described it at Joe's christening in the show, the same thing happened and they were talking like that for half an hour and I think they are far from done, So I called grandpa from outside the restaurant and told him to enjoy, I'll take the bus.

He excused himself from Gloria for a moment and came to me to ask if I have money, but before I could answer him, he stuffed a $100 dollar bill in my hand and asked to take a cab instead of the bus. So, I did that and came home, the family just had dinner at the time, I reached home and mom asked me about my game and if I have eaten something.

I answered her positively that I have eaten with grandpa and but before telling her about Gloria, I hesitated and in the end decided against it because it was grandpa's announcement to make.

After that I lay on my bed and because the day after tomorrow, there will be the state's final and we have to out of the city to play this time and with that thought, I fell asleep.

(A/N: So, we have the entry of Gloria in the story and MC was somewhat of a part in it albeit not the major part, I thought I would have made him, but during writing it didn't come to me, how? so if you any suggestion on how I should have done it, comment below and give me all your power stones.)
