12 7th Grade, Dunphy Residence

*MC POV*

The summer is over, so is the summer vacation and it's time to go back to school, but in the next grade and meet some new people and make some new friends(a/n: yeah, right).

As I am getting ready after my morning practice, I hear mom call us downstairs for breakfast, and seeing it is time for my bus to come as well, So I rush through getting ready and was the first one on the table.

Then dad came, he was mumbling something about poaching a listing, and I connected the dots on that one, Gill Thorpe, dad's rival realtor, poached another one of dad's listings, and my good-natured dad like every time is taking it lying down.

I don't like this one bit and just as I was about to say something, Luke also came and he has gotten ready all by himself and unlike other times his t-shirt is not stuck in the zipper of his pants and he is wearing his shoes and that made mom very happy.

Then came Alex, she has a book in her hands and she is looking at the book, instead of looking ahead while walking, she sat down at the table and glares at me.

The glare was that she is finding the book very hard and this book was read by me when I was in third grade and in a fit of her jealousy and competition, I gave her the book to read as well and said if she can understand this book in a week, then she can say that she beat me in something as I understood it in a day, she readily accepted the challenge and now she is finding it hard to compete and so the result, she loses and hence the glare just now.

But forgetting about that, I saw Haley has still not come downstairs, and mom yelled at her again to come.

Mom: "Haley!, come downstairs at this moment or you will be late for school. Haley! Haley!"

as mom finished her shout, Haley came downstairs at the same moment and she is in the phase, where she replies to all things in a grunt or "eeww".

Haley: "Mom! stop shouting, see I've come downstairs, so you can serve the breakfast"

and after seeing the bacon on her plate was a little charred, she said those magical words, she is saying a lot this year,

Haley: "eeww, mom what is this, I will not eat this."

after saying that she pushed the plate and got up for pouring herself a bowl of cereal and seeing that mom's anger was at an all-time high this morning.

Mom: "Haley Gwendolyn Dunphy! you sit right there and eat the breakfast I made, hauling my ass from the early morning "

and seeing that mom was ready to burst and dad was not paying attention, I did the next best thing, played the big bro card and said," Haley!, you will eat the breakfast that mom has made and if not, the next time you have the need for money, your "big bro" card will not work, even if you are my little sister"

and that does it because I saw fear in her eyes, as the money was important to her, because of her friend circle and she is "Queen Bee" of that beehive, and to remain in that position, she needs the honey and in this case, her working bees will not make the honey for her.

And after this affair, we ate our breakfast and mom is dropping my sibling to school, dad has another showing near my school, so today I will not take the bus and dad will drop me off.

The school was as boring as its gets and the basketball practice will start next week, so I had some free time and I spent some time with Gigi at a game stop and then I took the bus home and the first day of school passed like a breeze. and when I came home, there was another fight going on between Haley and mom.

Sometimes, it feels like with Haley, mom is also going through her teenage years again and a few other times I have noticed that mom talks to Haley like Nana talked to mom when mom was an actual teenager and grandpa also notices it last Sunday dinner and pointed it out to me.

I didn't know what the fight was about I know this is not the hill I want to die, to get in between a fight this big, you are asking to get slaughtered.

So, I did the next best thing, I went to our backyard and there I see, Dad also jumping on the trampoline.

I think Dad uses this trampoline, more than me and I should've noticed how happy Dad was when I asked for it, I should've asked for something else.

As dad sees me, he signals me to get on board and I did. We did all sorts of tricks and then we played a round of trampoline basketball and like every time since 4th grade, I beat him and he asked for 2 out of 3 like every other time.

After some time and more losses, dad was winded, so we took a break for his sake, and seeing that it was dinner time, we went inside and watched TV.

Seeing that the fight was over, mom was ordering dinner, because of the fight, the dinner preparation was not done at all.

So we ordered some pizzas and we ate them. After watching the show we were watching, I went upstairs and talked to Luke about his school and helped him with his homework, and seeing it Haley also came up with her doubts, I solved them for her as well.

Alex like this morning still was busy with the book, I gave her and after doing my own work for the next day's school, I was ready to sleep, until Gigi's message came and we started talking and we talked for like an hour and a half and after that, I slept like there was no tomorrow.

(A/N: I wrote this chapter, as a filler, in how a typical day in Dunphy residence is, aside from what we saw in the show like every other week, but there were some days in between unaccounted for and this is one of those days.
