Haley is meeting my parents

Today is my 18th birthday. 

I got another draw at the template. It was nothing special just a useless template. It didn't bring me any improvement.

Something else made me more nervous. My parents would visit me.

It is the first time in a long time I am going to meet them face-to-face.

They also told me they wanted to see my girlfriend.

It was around 9 a.m. and I looked at the clock almost every second.

Soon I heard a car driving into the street. I saw a car being driven in front of the gate.

I opened the door knowing it should be my parents.

No surprise a few seconds later two people stepped out of the car.

A middle-aged man with brown hair who looked pretty handsome and a beautiful middle-aged woman with blond hair.

I really had beautiful parents. Due to them, I had my good genes.

"I missed you my dear son", my mom said hugging me right after seeing me.

"You could have just visited me but you guys were too focused on your jobs since Grandpa died", I said in annoyance.

"Let me take a look at you son. You are already 18 boy. You look really similar to your mother. A handsome little boy. I wonder when you will introduce us to your little girlfriend?", my dad asked me with a hint of curiosity.

"You will meet her today. I invited her to dinner", I told them the truth.

"That's great. I really want to see who conquered my boy. I wonder when I will have my first grandchildren. Paul and Veronica are already married but there are still no kids.", my mom said while sighing.

"Your mother is right boy. We need a secure continuation for our Alvarez bloodline", my dad added doubling the pressure on me.

My two siblings are obviously more suitable. Why does it need to be me? 

I cried silently in my mind.

"I heard about your interest in the police a while ago"

"It seems you helped them catch a criminal. Are you interested in joining the police?", dad asked me with interest.

"I don't know. Seems like a not-so-bad option", I told my dad the truth.

"It wouldn't be bad for the family. With major people in the political area of Eastern USA as well as in the law scene we are already very good. But if we add you as an outstanding policeman it will be a very good addition", my father said in interest.

My father didn't worry that we had no successor in business for our business empire as usually, the second generation would fulfill that. It should have been one of my siblings or me, who would have succeeded my grandpa, but that fell short after my grandpa died when we were all too young. My father needed to jump in and was never at home with mom.

If my father too suddenly died one of us would go to lead the business. This wasn't a major problem as we were already educated in business very early on for such cases.

But my father was perfectly healthy and nothing indicated an early death.

"Well, let us not talk about work", dad said.

"I will show you around the house", I told Mom and Dad as I already began walking toward the living area.

"And the cars", I added. I noticed a slight glow in the eyes of my dad. My dad was the same as me. A huge car enthusiast.

I showed them everything and all my cars. Time went by very fast and we went for a walk around Los Angeles and also ate at some special restaurant.

When we came home it wasn't far from dinner time.

Haley would soon come.

I was nervous.

Soon I heard the rollgate open. 

It was probably Haley.

I looked out of the window and saw a nervous Haley stepping out of her car.

She brought a little bag with her. 

Obviously with a small present in it.

"How cute", I said silently to myself chuckling. Knowing my parents weren't short of anything. 

Still. They should still appreciate the sincere feeling.

"My girlfriend is here. Don't embarrass me", I said to my mom and my dad while walking towards the door.

"Hi Haley", I greeted her as I kissed her. I noticed how nervous she was.

I led her into the room and introduced her to my parents.

"Mom and Dad this is my girlfriend Haley Dunphy"

"Haley these are my parents Diego Alvarez and Elena Alvarez"

I introduced them to each other.

"Hi, nice to meet you", Haley said shaking the hands of both of them and giving them her present.

It was an album of all the nice things Haley and I experienced together.

My mom immediately lost her composure and started to get emotional.

"I love you. When will you two finally get me a grandchild", my mom said.

I knew my mom accepted Haley. 

My dad didn't show anything, but I still knew he certainly liked the present through some little gestures he made. He probably didn't even notice them.

The dinner went by perfectly and my girlfriend finally got to know my parents.
