1 With A Tease, We Begin.

VALENTINA

_________

Rub.

Rub.

Gently.

Slowly.

I couldn't particularly remember the exact line of the romance novel that I had read that spiked up my sexual fantasies and made me shove my hand into my panties to tease myself, but what use would remembering it be anyways.

Right now I was feeding on my own imagination, picturing the male lead as I--

"What the fúck, Val!"

Someone roughly pulled me up by one hand that was made free by yanking the novel out of it.

My eye lids tore open and I stared back at an angry face, my vision a little daze.

"Fix yourself, they are coming," she snapped at me in a venomous hiss.

My heart raced, and I quickly pulled up my black leather jumpsuit all the way up, while she attended to something behind me. Probably fixing my bed and tucking away her precious book safely away from sight.

She'd better put it somewhere really secure, I'd cry if I had to part with that book. I only just found it a couple of days ago and I wasn't even done with the story yet.

It was quite a big book.

Just as my hand left my zipper, I heard the door swing open and boots making firm contact against the floor.

Thud.

Creak.

Thud.

Creak.

My heart thundered the closer they got and when they finally came to my line of sight, I straightened up and threw them a salute.

Ru doing the same right next to me.

The Superiors' eyes were cold and calculating, as they looked through the room, observing every single thing.

General Liy's gaze was fixed on me, her eyes that were ever observant and cold, along with her face that was ever filled with a frown, boring down on me.

It was no secret that she hated me, a girl that dropped out of no where one day, joined the Special Training Unit and beat up her favorite to later become the best soldier they had in the next few years. But that was all to it, a seething hatred that she couldn't act upon... yet.

All she needed was one slip from me though and I would be saying hello to the Facility.

My skin crawled at that thought.

I certainly hoped not.

Then, two of the soldiers who had come into the room with the Superiors, came forward, dropping a briefcase by my side and one by Ru's.

We picked them up, putting them on my bed, then flipping them open, to see the weapons lined out in the briefcase.

"Mission is in thirty. I want no misses. Gun those monsters down and if you are able to end them, even better."

Injuring the monsters was something we could pull off, but killing them? Impossible.

Our years long fight against the strange creatures that flew through the air, or creeped out of shadows to snatch away newly turned 20 years old ladies, already confirmed that.

The best we had even been able to do was injure them and scare them away from the prey, till they were no longer in danger, that was after a week of clocking 20.

No one knew why it was like that, or what they were using the captured ladies for, or why the ladies was their target, but the monsters' pattern had been studied so well, and it had been concluded that it was better to avoid falling a victim to find out.

We couldn't protect everyone though, only those that were rich enough to afford us.

Even with our heavy protection, it was still a 50-50 game.

"Yes, ma." Ru and I saluted her in unison.

She turned away, the rest of the Superiors followed, then the soldiers.

A bang.

Door closed.

"That was close." Ru said with a sigh of relief, pulling over her briefcase and checking through her weapons quickly.

"Yes," I giggled, falling into my bed instead of getting ready.

"You were reading my book again!" Ru snapped, looking around, her chest raising and falling as if we were still within the possibility of danger.

But then, when were we ever not in danger?

"I was bored," I said, totally ashamed that I had been caught.

Again.

I had really hoped that she wouldn't bring it up.

The last time I had been caught, it had been Ru too. I was lucky that she was the one once again. If not for the fact that she was a wonderful friend, she would have ratted me out to our Superiors and gotten a promotion. Considering the fact that General Liy didn't really fancy me and took Ru as a favorite, and the rule prohibiting us from any form of sexual activity, I would quickly get locked up in the Facility in order to cure my recent 'sexual abnormality'.

That would really wreak me, because asides from the fact that I really hated the rumours I have heard about the Facility, being locked down there would really cripple my potentiality of getting promotions in future, and I have been working so damn hard for that. I'd be damned if some sensitive sex-craving flesh took that opportunity from me, even if that sensitive sex craving flesh was my very own.

But General Liy wasn't the only Superior and her ratting me out would affect her too.

The novel was her baby. She had stolen it from one of her aunts. I don't know who. Anyways, getting it here was almost an impossible task.

In the end, we would both end up getting locked up in the Facility.

My body cringed at the thought of that place.

Hell.

"Bored on a mission day? We better fix your necklace quickly, it seems to not just be your lucky charm but your brain too. Ever since it got broken, you've lost your mind."

"It is just a beautiful piece of rock," I said wiping my hands clean. "Don't make a big deal out of it."

I've worn that piece of green rock for as long as I could remember. I've never taken it off, not even for a minute. But some days after my 23rd birthday, I woke up to my necklace, loose and broken around my neck. I had to put it away and although I did not agree with Ru that it was something with some hidden magical ability, (because magic, really? oh please.) I'd grown used to the necklace myself and I couldn't deny that I missed having it around my neck.

I long to have it around my neck once again.

I pulled out the drawer and took a quick glance at it.

Ahh.

It was really mangled to pieces, I just don't think there was any way I could possibly be able to fix it to it's former glory.

"Hurry up, Val. We should be down in ten."

"Okay, okay, okay."

I shut the drawer and pulled over my briefcase, preparing too.

My hair was already made in long all back cornrows, so all I did was roll the length of my hair into a bun and tied it securely with an hair bond.

Having my weapons stacked into the right places and the gun holders by my sides full, I turned to Ru to say something snarky, but she nodded to me approvingly and dashed to the door, making me follow after her.

Why was she always so serious about everything? Side effects of being General Liy's niece?

I was already hated upon anyways, I might as well just enjoy it.

"Time to gun down some monsters. Woohoo!" I cheered loudly as I ran down the stairs.

"Keep it down," she snapped back at me and I giggled.

"Live a little, Ru!"

I knew she was afraid, it was the right emotion to feel. Going on a mission was something to be terrified of.

Why?

Because many times, going on mission meant never coming back.

Alive.

But I wasn't scared, we've been lucky a couple of times in the past, we would be lucky once again.

I just knew it!
