The bedraggled youth attempted to get out of bed. His black hair in a mess and gray eyes still foggy from the night's slumber. His name is Kline Noven, an orphaned 18-year-old trying his best to get through each day.

His mother died while giving birth to him and his father died when he was 12 as a result of a car accident. After the death of his father, he decided to spend all his time playing video games and beating people so hard that they decided that uninstalling is better than playing. He's played many different genres such as shooter games, adventure games, MMORPGs, racing games, and even rhythm games.

Kline was extremely talented at video games and always reached the tops of the leaderboard if the game had one. Through his 10 years of gaming, he's met a lot of people and made many friends with other extremely talented players.

As he slowly got out of bed, his eyes suddenly become sharp as he realizes what day it is.

"Sh*t I gotta hurry."

Today is the launch of the brand new Full-Immersion VR game, Steampunk Online, by the Spiral Corporation. A new steampunk world that's bigger than Earth and promises complete freedom.

In 2029, a brand new company called the Spiral Corporation suddenly appeared. It quickly politically and economically dominated the globe with its revolutionary technologies and strategic expansion.

Governments willing partnered with the company to access its technology and other companies couldn't compete. By 2045, the world was under the complete control of the company. It's influence was even greater than the company in a game with zombies.

In 2048, the Spiral corporation decided to create a VR game to serve as humanity's second world because apparently the mysterious creator of the company is an avid webnovel reader and wanted to bring his dream to life.

Kline ate his breakfast at breakneck speed and quickly hopped into the gamepod that the Spiral Corporation sent to everyone a few days earlier.

As he got into the pod he heard a pleasant female voice.

"Finally, damn Spiral released the trailer a year ago. Made us players wait forever in anticipation. I wonder how good immersive it is. Well considering its the Spiral Corp with its fancy quantum computers and advanced artificial intelligence it should be pretty good."

While he was waiting, 9.9 billion of the world's 10 billion were also waiting for the game to launch.

Thanks to the Spiral Corporation, most of the world became unemployed. However, everyone was able to live relatively comfortably as a result of automation and advanced robotics.

That's why most of the world decided to see what this second world would be like.

"Man I'm bored of being in the spotlight and dominating the game. Hmm, I should try something else this time around. But what should I do? Oh maybe instead of appearing on the top of the leaderboards again I should build a secret organization that controls the world from the dark. Yeah, that seems fun! I'll need to contact some of my good friends later."
