He was constantly monitoring his every movement, ready to break the spell and shift to defence if Max pulled something unexpected, however, nothing of the sort seemed to happen.

For the perfect warrior, forming and maintaining the move took a lot of energy and focus and just like Max, he too could not move while the spell was in progress making him a sitting duck to any counterattack.

However, with his opponent also immobilised and trapped, it wasn't like it mattered much anyway.

He factored in many possibilities, however, if there was one possibility he did not think about, it was third party interference as the celestial realm was designed in a way that no third party could interfere between an ongoing battle under any circumstance.
