2 Chapter 2 - Pizza Delivery

Alex knew very well that the voice was the voice of his parents' neighbor.

Alex swallowed his saliva then he said "Yes aunt June, this is Alex how are you?"

"Ohohoho... Aunt June is fine, how about you?" Aunt June asked Alex.

"Ah... Yes, I'm fine, Aunt June," Alex answered.

Alex braved himself then he said, "By the way, does Aunt June know how my parents are doing?"

"Oh... I thought you knew that already..." Aunt June said with a sad tone.

Alex felt he already knew what Aunt June was going to say next and he tried to stay calm.

"Both of your parents... They... They passed away a few months ago because both of them had lung cancer," Aunt June said as she sobbed.

Hearing what Aunt June said, Alex started to shed tears.

He cried because he didn't know about the death of his parents and he also felt guilty because he couldn't be a dutiful son to his parents.

"Did they ever say anything about me?" Alex asked Aunt June.

"Yes, they often say something about you," Aunt June answered.

Alex, who was curious about what Aunt June had said, asked Aunt June again.

"What did they say about me?"

"They say if you are a good boy and really care about them, you even leave them to live alone and not bother them, but... Alex... to be honest... Auntie knows how sad your parents are when you are not by their side," Aunt June said at length to Alex as she sobbed.

Since he couldn't stand hearing that anymore, Alex said, "Thanks for telling me about my parents, Aunt June," and then he closed the call immediately.

Alex contemplates his mistake and he blames himself for having left his parents with no contact with them at all.

He felt that he wanted to at least be able to talk to his parents for a while, but he couldn't do that anymore.

In the midst of Alex's sadness, suddenly someone knocked on the employee break room door.

"Alex, have you finished your break time?"

A young woman's voice asked Alex from behind the door.

Alex wiped his tears and then he stood up as he said, "Ah... Yes, boss!"

Alex opened the door and then he could see a long pitch black-haired young woman with emerald eyes wearing the same red uniform as him.

That young woman is none other than the boss of the small pizza shop where Alex works.

"It's time to get back to work, you deliver the pizza that Eveline has prepared to this address," the boss said as she hand over a sticky note to Alex.

Alex accepted that sticky note and then he said, "Okay boss!"

Alex walked to the counter and he took a box of pizza that Evelin had prepared.

Alex took that pizza box out of the shop and then he immediately got on his battered motorbike while carefully placing the pizza box he was carrying on the handlebar of the motorbike.

Alex looked back at the sticky note in the palm of his hand and read the address on it carefully.

After confirming the address, Alex tried to start the engine of his battered motorbike.

After several attempts, finally, Alex was able to start the engine of his battered motorcycle and then he drove his shabby motorbike slowly towards the address written on the sticky note in the palm of his hand.

Arriving at the intended address, Alex turned off the engine of his motorbike and looked around looking for a house with the number listed on the sticky note in the palm of his hand.

After some time looking around, Alex finally managed to find the house from the address on the sticky note in the palm of his hand.

The house looks very grand and futuristic for the size of an existing house in difficult economic times.

Alex rang the doorbell of the house and then he said, "Your pizza delivery is here!"

Not long after Alex rang the doorbell of the house, a man wearing jet black tight clothing from head to toe opened the door of the house.

The man slowly walked towards Alex and then he opened the gate of the house.

Without saying anything, the man suddenly grabbed Alex's hand, and then he covered Alex's mouth with his hand.

Alex struggled and tried to scream, but instead, he slowly lost consciousness as it turned out that the man's hand was covered with an anesthetic.

The man forcefully dragged Alex into the house and then he left Alex on the sofa in the living room of the house.

Time passed from day to night and Alex slowly regained his senses.

Alex looked around and all he could see was darkness and a streak of red and blue light from the window of the room.

Alex walked closer to the window and he then looked out the window.

What Alex could see outside the window was a crowd of police cars that had surrounded the house where Alex was.

Alex who felt that he shouldn't be in the house immediately turned around and was about to leave the house.

However, as soon as he turned around, there were five guns pointed at Alex by five police officers.

"Put your hands up," one of the police officers said as he walked closer toward Alex.

Alex obeyed the police officer's words and he raised his hand.

He did that because he knew that if he fought those police officers and tried to escape, he would make things more complicated.

Alex was taken by those police officers out of the house, and then he was taken into one of the police cars that surrounded the house.

Alex was taken to the police station and then he was put in a prison cell by a police officer.

Alex sat pensively on the cold floor of the prison cell with a blank look in his eyes.

He questioned himself about what he had done to get him involved in something so troublesome.
