Seraphina's smile faltered for a moment before she composed herself. "Are you speaking from experience? Because Xin and you took a long time to become an official couple?"

Meilyn was taken aback by Seraphina's directness but refused to back down. "So you know about me and Xin. Then I guess this will make it much easier."

Taking a deep breath, Meilyn made her declaration. "Please leave Xin alone if you're only playing with him. He's already been through enough. If you don't truly care for him and are just toying with his emotions, then leave him be."

Seraphina's eyes narrowed slightly at Meilyn's words, her demeanor shifting from polite to steely. "Toying?"

Meilyn felt a surge of intimidation but stood her ground. "I mean . . . what else could it be? You two barely knew each other. There must be some kind of ulterior motive . . ."
