1 The Great Immortal Wilder

"Bang bang bang!" A heavy sound of knocking resounded from outside the door of a small shack, right in the middle of a bamboo forest.

"It's me, Jetson, open the door!" And following that a voice echoed.

"boom"

Not more than a second later, the Door of the shack slammed open, revealing a man with long red hair and a completely white robe.

The man had an ugly expression on his face, but as soon as he saw the person who was knocking on the door, it changed to one of helplessness.

"woosh"

In the next second, Jetson got dragged into the shack with blinding speed.

"Shit! Wilder, why do you always do that?" Jetson exclaimed, clutching his chest and breathing heavily.

"Why do you always bang on my door like a freaking lunatic?!" Wilder answered the question with a question.

He'd been hiding for as long as he could remember, but few people knew where he was, and even fewer he'd let into his house without proper preparations, Jetson was one of the few.

But he was a pain in the ass.

"Take a seat." Wilder pointed to a nicely placed chair in the middle of his room.

"You are still indulging yourself with all these things?" Jetson asked with a disgusted tone as his eyes slowly fell onto a pile of "books."

He and Wilder had a pretty close relationship as they ascended from the same world during the great fall of heaven.

Heaven's will was the essence of the entire world. It was in charge of all the workings of the world. It punished those who went against it and helped those it favored.

But heaven's will had no real emotion, and sometimes it would even function like a mere computer, helping those who meant it harm.

And that was what brought about its ultimate demise; several immortals of very high rank jointly attacked its weak point and shattered it with the pretense of helping it fix a fundamental problem

As a last ditch effort heavens will put its essence into seven shards and scattered through out the cosmos, its goal was to drag several people with potential out of their world and make them it's champions so it could exert its revenge.

Wilder was one of those people.

After their forced ascension, heaven's will was nothing but a shell of its former self, and Wilder here got a shard of heaven's will, prompting all the immortals in the vicinity to give chase.

and he'd been on the run for his life ever since.

"Hehe, don't tease me, Jetson. I've been hiding for too long and often need sources of 'entertainment.'" Wilder rubbed his head in embarrassment.

He wasn't expecting Jetson, The guy popped up when ever he felt like it so Wilder didn't have the time to keep things in their appropriate places

"You could always go out and have fun like old times...." Jetson said with a sly smile.

Wilder was no coward.

The immortals gave chase, but after a while, he got away and went into seclusion for several years.

What followed next was an Absolute massacre.

He would go out of his way to hunt down the immortals that participated in the chase and take them out one after the other, prompting the other immortals to go into hiding.

But as they say,

There is always a higher mountain to climb.

Stronger immortals stepped out one after the other to pressure Wilder into giving them the shard of heaven's will.

So he did the only thing he could think of.

He went into hiding again.

"Let's see what you brought," Wilder said, looking at Jetson with anticipation.

His mouth suddenly felt dry.

He and jetson had a strict relationship based off of their love for wine

Jetson in particular was very good at finding good wine. He wouldn't hesitate to go through heaven and hell to find good wine, just as long as he could taste

"I always have the best for my good friend," Jetson said, pulling a jade bottle from his robes.

"pop"

His hand slowly pulled out the cork from the bottle, and almost immediately the room was filled with the aroma of wine.

Not even a second later

"Take it easy, brother Wilder!" Jetson exclaimed.

Wilder had taken the bottle from his grasp and began to down the wine into his throat.

But upon hearing Jetson complain, Wilder took out a small bag and tossed it towards him, prompting Jetson to smile.

His payment was all he truly wanted.

"Ah, so is the tribunal still looking for me?" Wilder asked with a look of bliss in his eyes.

The wine was top-notch as usual.

"The bounty for you has been doubling ever since you went into hiding; the longer the shard stays in your hand, the more they coveted it, and I fear that they will take drastic measures," Jetson explained to Wilder in a worried tone.

This friend of his had become the most wanted man in all of the immortal world and was in a state of constant danger as they were countless immortals of high standing looking all over the place for him.

"Why don't you just let it go and seek refuge with the Fates group?" Jetson asked

Wilder, who was still indulging in the wine in his hand, stopped immediately and looked directly at Jetson with a bit of a daze in his eyes.

"Who are the fates? They're a bunch of hypocrites, plus I have other plans for the shard," Wilder declared, then reinserted the wine bottle into his mouth.

Wilder was absolutely right. The fate group leadership consisted of three individuals who would say one thing and do the exact opposite.

Suddenly, a strange sound echoed from outside the shack.

"hm?"

Wilder was a bit surprised to hear that, he knew that no one except Jetson knew of this location.

"You were followed?" Wilder ignored the sound and glared angrily directly at Jetson.

"me? Of course not, I'm not that incompetent." Jetson said with a wronged look on his face.

"Hm," Wilder nodded. Since Jetson was a sly businessman and Wilder was his biggest consumer, he would be very careful not to get followed least he lose a good friend and a great consumer.

But that wasn't the only reason wilder had for not suspecting Jetson, in all honesty Jetson Was a coward and he knew the consequences of betraying Wilder

Wilder was well aware of how powerful the Fate group was, and they had repeatedly ordered him to turn in the shard, but he refused.

He knew that they would come for him one day.

Wilder stood up from the middle of the shack and walked towards the door.

There was no longer a need to keep hiding at this point.

.

.

.

.

"click"

The door opened, and Wilder stepped out.

In front of him were five men in robes of different colors floating in midair they looked like they were prepared for battle.

"So which one of you wants to go first?" Wilder's voice echoed as soon as his leg touched the ground.

"The great Immortal Wilder, you have always been good at running and hiding." One of the five men landed in front of Wilder and said,

"And you have always been good at kissing the ass of the fate lord," Wilder replied with a snappy response to the person who had just spoken.

"You!….." the immortal's look became ugly when he heard that.

He was born in the immortal world, so of course he didn't really know earth slang. he thought that Wilder was insinuating that he and the fate lord were having an illicit affair.

It made him burn red and he was about to blow his top when

"There's no need for all this squabbling, Wilder. Why don't you hand over the shard? You must understand by now that it is not something you can keep." Another one of the immortals cut in to prevent a nonsensical argument between Wilder and them.

"Hmp!" The immortal that Wilder threw the insult at harrumphed.

He and Wilder had a score to settle, so they hated each other intensely.

The rest just wanted the shard.

"What do you say, Wilder? We have given you enough time already, haven't we?" The Immortal asked

"For the 1000th time, and yes, I've been keeping track, No means No; I won't be your boyfriend. Who would think that after a thousand years of living, you old monsters still can't handle rejections?" Wilder said with a tinge of mockery in his voice.

The immortals couldn't help but boil with anger as they heard that.

But then Wilder slowly pulled a walking cane from inside his robes.

This cane was decorated with pure gold and jade, and it had beautiful inscriptions all over it. These inscriptions were enough to make one stare at the cane for hours, as they were so skilfully inscribed.

"Are we dancing or not?" Wilder asked.

"Sure why not? three of you take him out," the immortal in the lead said as he turned around and sat down on a rock not too far away.

"With pleasure," the three immortals said, their faces evilly smirking.

"I will take long range," one of the immortals said as he magically made a long chain appear in his hands.

The other two took off, rushing Wilder.

"shhhh"

On the other side, Wilder unsheathed a blade that was enclosed by his walking cane-

"clang"

The assailants and Wilders collided.

"Damn!" exclaimed one of the two immortals.

And in the next moment-

"whoosh"

Wilder used that opportunity to dash behind the second one and slash downwards.

He was overpowering them.

He had been in hiding for a long time, but that didn't mean his power would stagnate; in fact, he grew stronger by the day.

That was why they applied so much pressure on him.

They were afraid that a day would come when they wouldn't be able to match him anymore.

,,,,,,,,,,,

Watching the battle from the back, the other two immortals couldn't help but frown.

Their people were slowly being pushed to a disadvantage

"Do it," one of them whispered.

"Yes, fate Lord," the other immortal said with a bow

He then turn to Wilder direction and started approaching.

"Wilder, let's end this."

Wilder, who was fighting the three immortals, heard a voice call out to him all of a sudden.

"Finally done hiding?" Wilder sneered

This fight was becoming more difficult; it was now a four-on-one match.

"abyssal slash"

The immortal who had just joined the fight sent a slash towards Wilder.

It was black as the night sky, and it looked like it wanted to tear up the space around it.

" Thousand Weapons Scripture: Shield."

Beside Wilder, a huge shield appeared, stopping the attack from reaching him.

"Oh mighty fate Lord, why don't you join our brawl? I would like for you to taste my thousand weapons Scripture; let's see if I, the Immortal Wilder, can defy fate." Wilder spread his hands outward and laughed maniacally.

The man who chose to hang back was one of the fate lords of the fate group.

They were absolute monsters, and they were the ones that wanted Wilder dead the most.

"Maybe in your next life," the fate lord commented.

"hm?" Wilder felt a stabbing pain in his chest as soon as he heard that.

When he turned around, he discovered that his 'good friend', Jetson, had impaled him with a blade.

"Jetson you..?" Wilder had a look of confusion in his eyes.

Jetson: One of his closest friends had stabbed him in the chest.

"Cough, cough," Wilder coughed as he held onto his chest.

"Hehe, I'm sorry, brother; I can't let you burn your blood and escape. I already told you that it was enough. You should have just handed the shard over to them and been done with it. Now look what you made me do."

However, all of a sudden-

"slash"

Before he could finish his rant, Wilder had cut his head clean off.

Up until the last moment, he didn't think Wilder would ever kill him, but the truth lay bare before his headless corpse.

"You've always been a little bitch," Wilder said with a disgusted look on his face

He then turned around while holding on to the wound in his chest.

"Shall we continue?" Wilder inquired of the fate lord.

"go ahead"

"Blood burn," Wilder whispered, and so the blood in his body began to boil uncontrollably.

He lied to Jetson about his blood-burning technique coming from his heart because he knew Jetson was a hypocrite who wanted to be liked by everyone.

"Thousand Weapon Scripture: Destruction Blade"

He was going all out now.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

But after a drawn-out battle, Wilder was still overwhelmed; his face was bloodied and his arms were completely messed up.

"Hehe, I knew that This would happen, but it was fun, fate Lord, and I will see you next time," Wilder, who was lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood, said as he slowly closed his eyes.

Beside his dying body were four other immortal corpses.

"I'm afraid that our little chase is over," the fate lord shook his head as he announced from where he was seated.

It sounded like a decree from heaven as it resounded through the air.

But would that scare Wilder?

"nice try…" Wilder's eyes went blank.
