Teacher Ron

Inside the meeting room, 50 gangsters sat on the chairs in front of a projector.

A young man in his late 20s stood in front of them with a bunch of paper in his hand.

With a forced smile on his face, he said, "Hello everyone, I am Ron, your instructor."

All the gangsters just nodded their heads while staring at Ron.

Not caring about the response, Ron said, "I believe you know the importance of this session." He pointed to the wall clock on the left wall. "It is already 10 and you guys need to enter the game at 12. It is better for all of us if you guys cooperate."

As Ron mentioned, everyone in the room sat straight, like attentive kids. The boss said in a respectful tone, "Sir, you don't have to worry about anything. Just teach us fast."

Teacher Ron nodded his head. "Let's start with the very basics of the game." Ron tapped on the projector, and a massive black sphere with white dots and a purple DNA structure wrapped around it appeared on the screen.

Jules knew this was the logo of Universal Online.

Ron pointed to the logo. "Universal Online is a vast game. A player will start with one planet, and then as they gain power, they can even explore space."

As Ron said, a universal map of the game appeared on the screen.

Jules saw that, except for 5 galaxies in this map, all others were gray right now. All colored galaxies represent the explored region.

Ron pointed to the 5 galaxies: "At the start, the game player has to select one planet, but each planet in the game has a 3-month cycle of limited slots."

All the gangsters started scratching their heads at this.

Ron zoomed the map, and now only one shiny planet remained on the screen. "This is planet Nex, a magic base planet. You all have to select this planet to start your game. Let me tell you that only 1000 players can choose this planet. If you miss it, you can only select this planet after 3 months."

At this, the vice leader asked, "Ah, sir, is there a way to ensure that everyone gets one slot on the planet?"

Ron shook his head. "Nope, that's why I told you that you need to start at 12. You 50 need to choose the planet before everybody."

Everyone nodded their heads.

Ron said, "Now let's talk about players. After the planet selection, all 1000 players will enter the trial grounds. You will have one game day on the trial. Based on your performance in the trial, you will get to choose your initial species and some other reward."

One goon asked, "Sir, what if 1000 people did not enter the planet? After all, there must be multiple other planets to choose from."

Ron shook his head. "You don't have to worry about that; there will always be 1000 rulers on your planet."

Jules clicked his tongue. This guy was skipping so much important information.

Ron continued, "Along with the selection of species, you also have to choose your path and your first source of power."

The vice leader asked Ron, "Sir, what are these?"

Ron waved the paper in his hand. "Well, I don't have enough time to teach you everything. To make it easy for you guys, I have created this list of all the important selections."

Ron distributed all these papers to them.

The moment Jules got the paper in his hand, he stopped caring about Ron and focused on the paper in his hand.

On the paper, there was a long list of species with their suitable paths and sources.

In his last life, this list was his only source of information about the game and his hopes.

But now that he knew more about the game, it was crystal clear to him that all these combinations present on the list were mediocre or bad.

If he chose any given combination, he would have to depend on the gang for survival.

From his past life failures, he knew that there was no correct way to start Universal Online.

Every selection could work in the hands of knowledgeable players, but that was not the case here.

All the choices on the list had high resource requirements and a higher chance of messing them up.

Few of these choices could be so bad that gang members might not even survive 3 months, even with gang support.

After two years of struggle in his last life, he always had this doubt in the back of his mind that the Eagle gang never wanted them to progress in these initial rounds.

This cleared some of those doubts. But the big problem was why the gang wanted 50 rulers on the planet.

He had no information about why the gang needed them on the planet. From what he remembers, he never even met the kingdom or higher ruler in his first attempt.

He just followed the order while learning as much about survival as possible.

Still, as the past kingdom-level ruler, he guessed that there could be two possibilities. First, their group would not be the only group entering this planet from the gang.

There was a higher chance that a different group of experienced players would enter the planet Nex alongside them. Their group was just a meat shield for those guys.

The next possibility was that higher-level rulers must have requested these many shields to complete some kind of advanced quest.

Or there was a low possibility that the gang wanted both things.

No matter what it was, he was clear that the gang did not want things to get out of their hands. That was why they chose noobs for the task.

He clicked his tongue, and all of this became quite troublesome for him.

He could not stand out, but if he followed the gang arrangement, then he would lose everything in 3 months.

He stopped thinking and closed his eyes to take some rest. He knew that with a 1:2 ratio time difference, the trial day inside the game would take 12 hours of real life.

After such a messy day, it was better to get as much rest as possible. He closed his eyes and blacked out.

None in the meeting room noticed Jules, as all of them were busy listing Ron's bullshit.

Time continued to pass, and soon it was time for all of them to enter the game.
