Species

Not one, but all 5 of the species had traits. It was now he realized the true worth of SS rank.

SS rank was not only about the species' talent but also about the species being powerful.

The trait was a hidden power that few species were born with. Unlike the talent that the system gave to the species, each individual could have a variation in how they used traits.

His first species was Dragons. In the second, he had the marine beast Cikania. Then there was his only humanoid option, Shakhans. He even got super rare insect-type Golden termites as his fourth. And then the Ghost that he did not even know players could get as a starting species.

He grabbed his head and just continued to look at them.

After taking some deep breaths to calm himself, he clicked on the first species to see its details.

The moment he saw the new information, he got another surprise. It was a 5 egg dragon species.

In Universal Online, a ruler started the game with 100 members of a species, but every member of that species didn't start on equal footing.

There were 2 core systems that the starting 100 members could have. First was the pack system, where every creature in the pack was equal. Most creatures start with this system, especially humanoid creatures.

The second system was the structure system. This happened when few in the species had extra power over others.

A species like dragons started with a 3-level structure where at the top were dragon eggs. Then, on the middle level, each dragon egg would have a couple of dragon warriors that ensure the protection of the egg.

At the lowest level were dragon worshipers, who treated dragons as their deities. These guys were responsible for all the chores.

Now 5 egg species means he would get 5 different sets of dragon warriors and dragon worshipers.

From what he knew, a player could get a dragon species from a B passing grade, but in that case, they would only get one egg species or at max two eggs.

Those with A and S could get 2 egg species where both eggs were of different kinds, but the species in front of him had 5 separate kinds of eggs.

This was a big thing, as hatching even a single egg gave many advantages to the player. In the first place, dragon rulers face the most difficulties in creating various sets of dragon warriors and worshipers.

The new dragon egg would only be born if some dragon warriors and worshipers refused to serve the existing dragons. Because of this, those who start with 1 and 2 eggs of the same kind face immense problems.

But that would not be a problem with 5 starting sets. Everyone in the dragon species also had the trait of dragon breaths. It was a super powerful attacking trait, but Glitch did not want to choose this species.

Dragons were powerhouses, but they also required a massive amount of resources. He knew that a single player could not meet their requirements. That's why rulers with dragons only thrive in big guilds.

The second problem was any kind of dragon species was super catchy. If his gang found out about him, then sure they would support him, but that support would come with many restrictions and his freedom, which he did not want to trade in.

Last, the third reason was his path. Dragons were tailor-made for the study path. He could use them in the evolution path, but that would increase the resource requirement to an extreme level.

It would get so absurd that he could count successful Evolution Path Dragon players on his one hand.

He stopped thinking about dragons and moved to the Cikania beast.

Players also called these beasts giants of water. Like dragons, they also had a structured system where multiple parasites served one beast.

These beasts had symbiotic traits that let them give some power to the parasites that work for them.

As he checked the number, he saw 5 massive beasts, each having their set of parasites. These beasts could be a great addition for a guild to engage in large-scale wars, but at the individual level, they were just burdens.

He also skipped past it and looked at the next species. His only humanoid species, Shakhans.

Shakhan had gray skin, as they had two small tentacles attached to the side of their neck. Out of 5, he was most familiar with this species, as they often appeared for low-grade players.

Shakhans were a part of a few species that have primordial lineage.

There were multiple archives present online that rate this species as one of the most violent humanoid species. He even saw multiple videos where the species attacked their ruler.

He felt surprised to see Shakhans as his species, like one bad species standing out among others.

The only interesting this about them was their primordial traits. Still, out of all the species that had primordial lineage, Shakhans were more tamed among them.

It was a tricky choice in his mind, but then he checked all the available traits, and instantly his mind changed.

This was his first time seeing 10 primal traits within one species. He saw 10 packs of Shakhans, each pack having a unique trait.

He stopped caring about their aggressive nature and just focused on each of the traits.

It was his first time seeing 3 new traits, while the other seven were also the best possible traits they could have.

There was one reason players wanted to use species with ancient primordial lineage, as many believed that it could lead to knowing more about those ancient beasts.

He did not believe in that as even in his past life till he died, no one finds much about them.

He carefully read each trait, and so far, this species fits perfectly for his evolution path. Being humanoid creatures, Shakhans had a decent birth rate, and these Shakhans were relatively common compared to others.

He just had to hide those few rare traits. For now, he believed Shakhans were best for him. Still, he turned to check the other 2 species.
