Development of first area

Both Glitch and Lark started transforming the forest.

Glitch planned to create 10 sub-regions in the forest, each for Shakhans with different traits to live in separate regions.

He knew Shakhans, being one of the most aggressive creatures, it would not be better to leave them together.

He did not want them to fight and die, leading to the extinction of one kind.

For this, he developed a big circular region devoid of any trees right in the center of the forest.

Then he divided the forest into 10 small regions with that empty circular region at the center.

As he created a rough subdivision of forest, he told Lark to work on the border of each division.

Lark started placing many bushes and shifting some trees so that walking from one subregion to another became too hard.

Glitch, on the other hand, focused on creating small water bodies like ponds in each region.

He shifted the tree position in such a way that a big tree line separated one subregion from another. Along with the border, he also created a trail devoid of trees in each region that led to the center region.

Done with the basic structure, Lark started adjusting the fruit trees in the forest and also added different kinds of flowers in each region as a visual marking that separated them from one another.

Glitch started adding the little animals in each subregion in the forest.

Ding!

[Input x 20 Slime]

[Input x 20 white horn rabbits.]

[Input x 20 fox.]

[Input x 10 deer]

[Input x 20 Brown boars.]

He did not drop all these creatures randomly but placed the small groups of animals in different sub-regions.

The great thing about all these creatures was their high reproduction ability. Within a day, all of them would spread through the forest except for boars.

For Boar, he dropped them in pairs in each region.

Thousands of mistakes in his last life taught him different stable cycles for these extra monsters.

In the space village, creating a stable cycle for any creature other than his main species was much harder.

None of the extra creatures get the special boost like the main species.

So one minor mistake could lead to the extinction of these creatures from the forest.

If that happened, then he had to start over once again with the liability that he would have more mouths to feed.

It was a common thing that he faced many times in his last life. From experience, he knew that if any region cycle got disrupted, his only option would be to continue purchasing food for those creatures in the region.

He would enter an endless cycle, where spending big bucks on food would be his only option.

Throughout his past life, he encountered the same problem in every attempt.

Even in his successful run, he wasted lots of resources in purchasing food for the creatures in the space village.

This problem became worse due to the limited number of prey in the system shop. Once all the prey ended in the shop he could only buy things from other rulers.

This was especially true for creatures like Brown boar that were not even available in his system shop. That's why he was extra careful.

He used all his experience and continued to adjust little things from time to time.

Once he was done with the forest setting, he moved down and called Lark.

Lark, covered in mud, rushed to him and asked, "Boss, are we done?"

Glitch shook his head. "No, we still have to create homes for these creatures."

Lark tilted his head in confusion. "Home? Didn't we just do that?"

Glitch clicked his tongue, "Nope, so far this forest is suitable for Shakhans, but we have no control over where the prey creatures will live."

"We need to create a few favorable areas where these prey creatures thrive. We could not let them roam around mindlessly on the sub-regions. That will make it harder for us to keep track of their population."

Lark just looked at Glitch, his eyes full of doubts.

Glitch turned around and started walking toward the water source. "Just follow me. You will understand things slowly."

Both of them walked toward a water source. Here, Glitch started creating grass around the water source. While doing so, he said to Lark, "This long grass will help small creatures to hide, and deer can use them as food."

He turned back and asked, "So, where do you think more creatures live in this sub-region?"

Lark's eyes widened in realization as he said, "More of them will live near the water source compared to other areas."

Glitch smiled and said nothing. He knew it better to let assistants understand things on their own than spoon-feed them everything.

He did not want Lark to be his replica, but some who do things like him, but have a different understanding.

Lark joined him, and they finished adding grass in a few minutes.

Next Glitch started adding enormous stones in the forest.

A little away from the one water source, he created 3 small hidden caves from rocks under 3 massive trees whose roots.

Around these caves, he increased the number of fruit-giving trees. Once done, he explained to Lark, "In this region, these 3 caves will serve for brown boars. The surrounding fruit, and the grass near the water all this will serve as the food source of Boars."

Lark asked, "But boss, why didn't you add grass near the cave? Won't it be much better?"

Glitch shook his head. "Nope, boars are powerful fast creatures on solid ground. Long grass will hinder their movement and this will lead to their easier hunt."

Lark noted these things in his mind. Then both of them walked toward the second sub-region.

In this region, they did the same as the first region, but Glitch also burrowed multiple holes in a few areas, as this was the sub-region of rabbits.

In the third region, instead of holes, they focused on creating different areas full of soft and big bushes. It was suitable for the foxes.

While in the fourth region, they created an area full of dead leaves and hollow half-dead trees for slime.

Then they repeated this in other sub-regions. Along with these changes, they also added a thin layer of grass around the trails that lead to the center area.

After working for almost 4 hours nonstop in the space village, he finally closed the control panel with satisfaction.
