Chapter 47 Daddy king

Steve and Peggy look at each other, and whispered quietly as they huddled in, and with nods as they finish the huddle and look at Erskine,

Peggy replied, "A good solution, doc, and I can express my milk for the morning feedings when that time comes.".

Steve then added, "And as Susan has already taken to you, we have decided to name you as godfather.", with a warm smile,

"But only if you'd like to be.", with a nod. "I would be honored.", Erskine smiled as Phillips cleared his throat.

"Yes, well, I suppose that's all we can do for the situation; probably better to have you back safely in England for the time being, Carter. After that, as

Erskine said, the morning/afternoon stuff could work too, but you'd have to be fairly close to have her somewhat close to the frontline.", Phillips reminded.

"Wouldn't be too bad. Certainly can keep out of any long-range artillery and the Luftwaffe is basically non-existent now so we wouldn't need to worry too much about air raids.", Steve said.

Peggy nodded, "That's for sure.", smiling as she is seeing that Susan is, once again, falling asleep in Steve's arms. Erskine smiled, "I will go with

Miss Carter and the dear one to England after I finish with examining Eris's body which I better get on.", with a bow, "Sweet dreams, my goddaughter.".

Susan only snuffled, closing her eyes, and a quiet laugh came around the group as Erskine nodded to Phillips and smiled at Steve and Peggy, "Many congratulations, you two.".

Steve smiled, "Thanks, doc.", and Peggy nodded, "Yes, thank you, Dr. Erskine. And if you excuse my offense, but

I believe that your wife and children would have been proud of you for bringing us together indirectly, and of course, ending up with a goddaughter, due to us.".

Erskine smiled as Phillips looked around and tapped him on the shoulder, "Come on, Doctor, I'll get us a ride to Eris.".

The two of them headed off to find transportation off the beach while the giant parents once more were mostly alone to themselves with the rest of the landings happening around them.

Steve smiled softly as he glanced down at his slumbering daughter,

"I'd never imagined I would be a captain soldier, a giant, and a father, and if you or anyone else told me when I was a teenager or something, I'd think it was a joke."

Especially what with your conditions before?", Peggy chuckled as she leaned against him. "Well, it's in the past now, you're here now, with me, and even better than you probably could've dreamed of."

Steve chuckled, and kissed her on the lips, "You are absolutely right.", as he held her with one arm, with his other arm securing Susan as she kept sleeping on, cozy and content.

Erskine didn't know why he had bought the fragment of empty, black meteorite along with him as it used to contain

Quantonium before it came into the couple of Steve and Peggy, but when he got near to Eris, the fragment shook in his pocket, and he brought it out.

Suddenly, the green energy of Quantonium came out of Eris's body, streaming over and diving straight for the fragment,

as Eris's body shrank, unable to hold the Serum as it contorted her body into ashes and blood and pieces,

and the Serum liquid soaked into the earth, sensing the pollution of the world, and decided to work slowly and steadily to heal the earth.

Phillips blinked in shock as the fragment is now glowing and vibrating of Quantonium, "Well, that blew a gasket in your plan, doc. What are you going to do with that?".

Erskine smiled, "I believe I have a way to help Rogers and Carter resume their normal lives...It was clear that despite being 100ft tall, Eris never changed size, and she didn't have powers...

I have a theory that the Quantonium only seeks worthy people, and I believe Johann Schimdt forced the Quantonium and the Serum to be bad within Eris.".

"You mean to tell me that you think that stuff is alive?", Phillips looked at him strangely as Erskine nodded.

"In some ways, yes... of course, I'd have to do some experiments to be sure.", Erskine explained.

"Well, we need to make sure to keep this stuff out of the Krauts' hands again... or our friends to the east.", Phillips scowled with a nod.

Erskine smiled, "Oh, that I can agree with.", before glancing at the remains of Eris, "Leave her to the vultures.

I've lost count of numerous murders and such she did to all of our people on the Allied side.".

Phillips snorted, "You don't have to convince me there, doc. She would have been served the death sentence either way if she had survived the extraction of the

Quantonium and the Serum on the chance of standing in front of us, alive.".

Erskine nodded, "Indeed. Let's head back to the beach.", heading to the jeep, and Phillips only gave a last glance at Eris,

"I don't know what Schmidt did to convince you to be part of the Nazi, but I pray that God is being fair with his judgment of your life.", before walking away to join Erskine in the jeep.

Meanwhile, back at the beach, Steve noticed Peggy leaning her head back. "Getting sleepy?", he asked her as she nodded. "Yeah, I mean, I've had a busy morning.", Peggy chuckled as Steve joined in.

Steve nodded, "I'm sleepy as well. Fighting so many defenses left and right, clobbering Eris, and helping you give birth, and spent my attention between Susan and helping out the infantry inland.", smiling as they laid down, with

Susan laying on her belly upon Steve's chest, still deeply asleep, not disturbed by the motions, with his hand resting on her back, securing her protectively.

Peggy smiled, kissing Susan on the forehead, and then kissed Steve on the cheek,

"Daddy King.", with a giggle as she intertwined her hand within Steve's hand on Susan's back as she took to sleep on Steve's shoulder.
