109 Rage

I use my magic to put the orb away before using my magic to fix the room. The blood gets cleaned up as everything rights itself. Broken furniture is put back together as books slip back into their original places. When it's all done, nothing looks out of place.

Bolin's deep but soft voice soothes me as he asks, "Are we going to find them now?" I shake my head, looking around the room one last time before turning back to the door and saying, "No, I know who it is so there's no rush. I want to make sure I repay them accordingly."

I push my magic into the door and open it. I step through with Bolin and head straight for the bathroom, picking up the clothes that I dropped earlier. Mago silently watches in the mirror but doesn't say a word.

I head straight for the shower and shut the door before locking it. I feel a bit bad about locking Bolin out, but I was barely holding myself together. I wanted to be alone. I turn the water on and immediately start stripping.

As soon as I have my nasty clothes off, I step into the shower and close the glass door. The warm water washes over me, soaking my salt-filled hair as my tears begin to fall again. I cover my mouth to keep from making a noise as I break down crying.

I'm unsure of how long I'm in here for but after a while, the tears dry, and I'm only left with a hallow rage.

Balcom...

I will kill him and make him regret ever touching Vanir. I want to instantly kill him, to kill him violently and quickly but that would be a mercy to him. Instead, I try to calm myself so that when I come face to face with the bastard... I don't snap and do something I'll regret later.

As soon as I'm done washing up, I get dressed and open the door. Bolin glances up and looks me over in concern before giving me a small smile. I try to return it as I ask, "Why are you standing here? You should sit down and rest."

He doesn't say anything as he silently opens his arms. I walk over to him and bury my face in his chest as I wrap my arms around him. He holds me close, gently rubbing my back as he says, "How can I sit down and rest when you're in this state?"

I remain silent as I take a deep breath, taking solace in his strength. It's strange, I've never had someone like this before... never been in a serious relationship, and yet, I find everything I do with him familiar and comforting.

He leads us over to the bed and pulls back the covers. We both silently slip in, and I snuggle up close to him. He pulls me close, wrapping me in his strong arms as the rain outside continues to fall. I'm not blind, I can see that he's curious about this world and the strange objects in it, but he hasn't asked a single question.

His focus has been on me the entire time. Worried about me and wanting to comfort me. It makes me sad but also warms my heart. I think I've found someone who genuinely loves and cares about me.

Even when I feel as if I've lost everyone and everything, he stands in the darkness like a solid reminder that I'll never be alone. Yes, my very own nightmare.

When I wake up the next day, I quickly get cleaned up and changed. I help Bolin figure out the bathroom and get us both something to eat before saying, "I'll be heading back to the council's office today."

Bolin nods and says, "I will come with you. Once you're done with this... can we return home?" I blink in surprise. Surprised that he would call it home for me too but in a way, he was right. His world... his place was more like home to me than this was.

Sure, I love the modern conveniences of this world but I'm sure I can cook something up similar to the things in this world with my magic in the other world. I could probably even capitalize on it if I wanted to.

Being that I didn't really need gold, I could use it to build relations and in return, build power. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that if you want to protect yourself and those you care about, you need the power to do so.

I tie up my other pair of leather boots as Bolin silently watches me with a frown. I frown back at him as I ask, "What? What's wrong?" He hesitates for a moment before asking, "I really don't like the way women dress here."

I blink in surprise as I look down at myself. I was in my all-black outfit. It was fitted and convenient. I stand up and slowly turn for him as I ask, "Do I look that bad?" His frown deepens as he says, "No, that's the problem. You look really good in it... I just don't like that other men can see it as well."

I blink in surprise before giggling. I look up at him with mischief dancing in my eyes as I ask, "Is someone jealous?" He doesn't try to hide it or even bother looking embarrassed as he says, "Yes, very much so. It makes me want to rip out all their eyes."

I chuckle again as I say, "Well, no ripping eyes out for the time being. This is normal here and the guys hardly even notice anymore. Trust me. Plus, where I'm going... my outfit will be the last thing on anyone's mind."

Bolin gives me a dark smirk as he steps closer and says, "I like it when you talk like that. I can't wait to see what you have in store for them." I return the dark smirk as I say, "Don't worry, I'll make sure it's a bloody good show."
