105 Justice Isn't Always Satisfying

I stare up at them as they both continue screaming curses at me, but their toxic words fade away as I realize that most of my life was a lie. Had I truly been that blind to their deceit? Or was I unknowingly blinding myself because they were the closest thing to 'family' that I had?

I had been a fool and I paid for it.

I lift my hand and say, "Snakes without fangs, are nothing but worms." I use my magic to cripple their own. It was so easy for me; it was almost scary. They both go eerie silent, no doubt feeling the absence of their magic.

I had felt it one too many times, so I know the feeling all too well. They look at me in horror as David whispers, "What have you done?" I stare at them without an ounce of pity but before I can say anything, Beatrice starts screeching again.

"I told you she was a freak! It doesn't matter what bloodline she's come from; no Witch should be able to do that!! What are you, huh!? You're actually a demon disguised as a witch, aren't you!? Are you even your parent's child!? What filthy hole did you crawl out of!?!??"

Suddenly, blood goes flying as Bolin pulls me back. Beatrice is screaming again but this time it sounds all wrong. The blood falls all over Vance but he doesn't seem to mind. He licks the back of his hand and nods with approval before saying, "A sample is always in order."

A piece of flesh lands on the ground and when my eyes fall on it, I realize that it was her tongue. Bolin had cut it off! When I turn to look up at him, he lightly pushes my messy hair away from my face as he says, "I would have killed her but she's part of your payment. I won't be the cause of you going into debt with him because of my actions."

I give him a small smile as I say, "You always know how to sweep a girl off her feet." Aston watches us with mild horror. Sure, I guess cutting someone's tongue off isn't the typical way to sweep a girl off her feet, but I wasn't a typical girl.

Bolin releases them and they fall to the floor with grunts of pain. Vance pulls out his cell phone, but it was dead. He tosses it over his shoulder and asks, "Does anyone have a working phone?"

He waits a split second before saying, "No? Oh well..." He walks over to one of the dead werewolves and start searching his pockets. When he finally finds it, he lifts it up with a triumphant smile and says, "Ah hah!"

He tries to use it but frowns when he finds it locked. Aston sighs and says, "Try his finger." Vance looks down and grabs the dead werewolf's hand and tries several different fingers, but nothing was working. This time I sigh as I say, "Try his face."

Vance slowly looks up to be before snorting in laughter and saying, "Sure, where's his head? You came flying in here like the grim reaper, taking heads off in every direction." I grumble, "Always bitching...."

Vance grits his teeth in anger, standing up to glare at me as he says, "At least give me a direction!" I snap back, "Does it look like I was paying attention to where the heads were flying? You're a Vampire, can't you smell which one is his!?"

He scoffs at me and says, "Bloody hell... With all the blood in this room, I'd have to be a damn bloodhound to sniff this one's head out!" As he says this, he kicks the body like he was kicking a pillow and not a dead body.

Aston suddenly says, "Is this the right one?" He holds a head up by the hair with a grossed-out look on his face. Bolin watches everything with amusement but stays extremely close to me. Vance walks over and holds the phone up and says, "Yup, this looks like the right one. Hold him still."

I guess the phone's locked screen had a picture of the guy.

Aston holds the head up and says, "Hurry up!" Vance sighs with annoyance and says, "Hold it still!! You keep moving it!" Aston grits his teeth as he says, "If it's moving, hold it still yourself! Do you ever have the angle right?"

A slow smirk pulls at my lips as I watch the two try and maneuver the dead guy's head. Vance curses and says, "I think his eyes have to be open." My smirk grows into a full-blown smile as I watch them in amusement.

Aston says, "Oh hell no, I'm not opening the dude's eyes too." Vance rolls his eyes as he tosses the phone to Aston and says, "Fine, switch." Aston catches the phone in his free hand and hands the head over.

Unlike Aston, Vance has no qualms about grabbing the head and forcing the eyes open. Aston leans in, trying to get the phone to unlock but it still doesn't work. Aston frowns and says, "No, no, you have his eyes too far open. Lower the lids."

Vance uses the utmost concentration to slowly lower the eyelids and even tries to give the guy a cocky smirk. Suddenly, the phone unlocks. Vance instantly tosses the head to the side as he laughs with joy.

He grabs the phone and smacks Aston's back before saying, "Great teamwork. Almost dying together has really brought us together." Aston glares at him before shrugging his hand off and walking over to me.

When he sees me struggling not to laugh, his face falls as he bites out, "Not a word..." Bolin watches everything but remains silent. Even though he's silent, I can tell he has a million questions.

As Vance calls Ambrose and tells him where we are, I go to the other room with the other witches. They were all close friends and family to Aiya and her parents. I reach out and crush their magic, much like I had done before.

I ignore their screams of anger and their cries of mercy. If anything, they brought this upon themselves. I don't show my enemies mercy, I'm not that cruel to myself.
