Miss-Understanding

What would you do if you were forced into marriage? Amelia chose the least sane option and ran away from home. “Getting married before 25 is like leaving a party at 8pm, NOT FUN, take it from me.”- Amelia the “wise” person. Amelia Smith, heiress of the Smith family, daughter of the CEO of Oasis and granddaughter to the Chairman of the largest jewellery company in the country, had to marry some dude she never met. The “dude” whom she had to marry was Jason Wilson, a very famous actor with the prestigious title “Movie King”, the second son of the Wilson family. “Can you guys believe that he literally begged to marry me?”- Amelia Author: I can’t, and you are literally my creation. Amelia: “And because of that, I’m being forced to marry him! I know I’m pretty and that many people want to marry me, but what I want is to find my own true love!” Author: Tone it down, you’re being cringy. Amelia: -_- “Okay, so you ran away. How’s that going on for you?” you may ask. Amelia: In a very weird- Author: But completely believable way! Amelia: LET ME SPEAK! Ahem, where was I? Oh right! I ended up working for my “fiance’s” brother. -_-||| *Scene* “Wait! You’re the CEO of this company?!” Amelia almost shouted. “Yes, Ms Luna Brown, I am the CEO of this company. And from now onwards, you are my servant” *cue an evil smirk followed by malicious laughter* Chris Wilson, the heir of the Wilson family, is the type to hold grudges, poor Amelia should not have offended him, especially since he is her boss. “I think you meant ‘secretary’, I am not your servant” Amelia (fake name- Luna Brown) nervously laughed. "…..same difference.” Chris Wilson said with a straight face. *cut* No big misunderstandings (I noticed the irony in the title, what I meant is that the misunderstanding won’t make you all frustrated), no snake like step-mothers or step-sisters. A slow romance between the protagonists, and there is no extreme OPness, so the characters are believable. Sorry, but no smutty or steamy scenes. This is a clean, slow romance and comedy novel :)

The Whole Damn Night

"Mr Wilson, please come back fast. I'd rather get into a petty fight with you than be alone in this eerily silent room." I whispered. I turned on the TV because I did not want to feel alone.

Meanwhile....

"You heard me right, Chris. You are weird. Putting all this aside, I'm inviting you to my house tomorrow, be sure to bring Luna with you. If I don't see her, I'm not letting you in." Charlie warned. Charlie got reminded of his youthful days when he was his friends' wingman. He thought, yeah I'm old so what? I still haven't lost my touch. He smirked while formulating a plan. Mr Wilson accompanied Charlie until he boarded his car and left.

For now, the only thing in his mind is that Charlie called him weird. 'Am I really weird? I thought I was perfect. Humph, they say I'm weird because they don't understand how a perfect man looks like. But... What if it's true and what if that's the reason why all my secretaries could not last? I assumed that they could not take criticism, or they felt that working with me made them feel low because they knew they could never exceed me in terms of.... well, everything.'

Ugh, Mr Wilson is Mr Wilson, he'll never change.

As he walked to through the hall, many thoughts invaded his mind. It went from 'why am I weird?' to 'Luna and I make a good pair?' to 'Why is Charlie insisting that I bring Luna to his house?'.

He stood in front of the door for five whole minutes because he forgot to knock and he has the audacity to scold me, "Ms Brown, how long does it take for you to open the door? You made me wait for five minutes."

"You never knocked the door, why are you blaming me for your forgetfulness?" I argued back. This time I was not annoyed by him. I was smiling on the inside because I like these petty fights. It makes life less boring.

"Oh, so you're saying that I, a genius of this generation, forgot to knock the door?" He glared. I mean, when he puts it that way, it only highlights how dumb he is.

He ignored me and walked forward while he took off his coat and threw it on the sofa. MY SOFA, I took the coat and threw it on him again. He turned around and gave me a look. And thus began a staring contest.

"Yeah, you forgot to knock the door you weirdo." I shook my head out of exhaustion. We were fighting over a knock. *facepalm*

"Ms Brown!!!" He yelled. What the hell? ( |||-_-) Why did he get so offended? I just called him a weirdo. If he is this sensitive, then when I really start roasting him, he'd completely break down.

"?"

He took a deep breath and placed his hands on his hips. He looked at me seriously. On a side note may just add how good he looks, ahem. Anyway, he looked at me seriously and asked me, "Ms Brown, please be gentle and truthful and tell me, Am I weird?"

Oh, you have got to be kidding me. I sighed to myself. What kind of question is this? Of course he's weird, but I don't wanna be the one who faces his wrath and deals with his tantrums after he learns the truth.

"Okay Mr Wilson, I can clarify this but tell me this one thing first. Should I be gentle or truthful, I can't be both." Well, I thought that anyone would be able to understand what I meant. I literally just told him indirectly. If he did not understand this, then he brings shame to his self-proclaimed intelligence.

"Umm, I'd like for you to be.... truthful then, wait no, gentle."

Okay so how do I work this into the conversation, how about like this: Oh hey Mr Wilson how was your day? Mine was great. I bought a new dress and got a new haircut. Oh, and have I ever mentioned that you're very weird?

Yeah this won't do.

"Um, Mr Wilson, you might want to sit down for this."

"No, no. I can take it, I'm a grown man." I wanted to add, 'and a bloodsucking devil' to it. :D

"Sigh, fine suit yourself. Who told you this, Mr Wilson?"

"Oh, it was Mr C- Wait a minute, what does that have to do with any of this?"

I grinned at him like a fool to avoid answering that.

"Mr Wilson, I am a very truthful person (lol no) so believe me when I say this, yes, you are weird but it's a good weird. Your weirdness makes you unique." I smiled genuinely at him. Kind of like a reassuring smile.

"Ms Brown, your words don't seem convincing enough." He said in a low voice.

"Hahahaa" and in my mind I said, 'Screw you'.

Mr Wilson 'pushed' the pillow aside and sat on the sofa. Dude! I want to sleep, not discuss your weirdness with you. You did not even ask my permission before sitting on the sofa.

"You see, Ms Brown, it's like this...."

All I heard after this is 'bla bla bla bla bla'

It was definitely a one sided conversation. Mr Wilson kept talking, and I acted like I paiud attention, I threw in a 'I understand' along with 'I see' and a few nods.

Mr Wilson kept talking till it was two in the morning, that means, four whole hours! "Mr Wilson! I get it! Now stop talking! I want to sleep!"

"... Sorry, Ms Brown."

Finally, some peace! He has zero respect for sleep and because of that I have zero respect for him.

The next morning I woke up to Mr Wilson calling my name. I see, he finally understood how to wake me up after that punch on our flight.

"Ms Brown, since you're awake now, you should get ready. We are going out."

"Where?" I rubbed my eyes. Ugh, I need SLEEP.

Before Mr Wilson could walk away and leave without answering my question- something he does every damn time, I shouted, "If you dont tell me then I won't get ready, you can go there by yourself."

He stopped and grunted as if to say, 'you ruined my dramatic exit', "We're going to Mr Carlson's house."

"Ugh Mr Wilson, do I have to come? You can go by yourself." No seriously, we both slept at the same time yet I look like a panda while he looks like a prince.

"No, you have to come, they specifically asked for you."

Oh~ I'm quite famous eh? I'm very flattered by this. I got up and tried to cover my panda eyes.

I got dressed in a white T-shirt and jeans; Ya, I did not have the mood to wear something fancy, plus it's early in the morning, so ya. Mr Wilson was in a suit as always, this guy, I swear, he really needs my help, I should pick out clothes for him.

"You're wearing that, Ms Brown?"

"Any problem?" I asked with a challenging tone.

"Nope, no problem at all." He opened the door for me.

Okay, now this is weird, Mr Wilson is being all chivalrous. That is so not like him. What has got into him?

"Mr Wilson, you okay." I asked.

His eyes remained glued to the road ahead while he nodded. He turned towards me and asked, "Why the question?"

"No reason, just making sure my boss is okay so I get my salary on time, haha."

"Ms Brown, you have to stop being money minded and enjoy life."

Really? Really Mr Wilson? You're telling me this? You're the one who throws money like its confetti and you're telling me to experience simple joys in life while you're out here signing contracts worth millions.

I shook my head, why bother. We soon reached this incredible-looking mansion. I for one would love to buy a house like this with my own money.

"You're drooling Ms Brown. Wipe your mouth." Mr Wilson mocked me. -_-

Okay, my turn. "Oh, was I? You're probably jealous because this house gets more action than you have in your entire life."

"..."

Mwuahahaha, oh ya. Serves you right Mr Wilson.

Charlie and his wife Elizabeth warmly welcomed us.

"Oh, you must be Luna! Charlie has spoken great things about you.!" Elizabeth gave me a warm hug.

"Good morning, Mrs Carlson." Mr Wilson greeted her.

"Oh, hi." She did not even look at him before dragging me away. LOL Mr Wilson got completely ignored. You should have seen the look on his face. I wanted to laugh so bad!

"Luna darling-" She pushed me down onto the chair while she grabbed a chair and sat across me.

Elizabeth is quite lively, haha- laughs awkwardly.

"Um, Mrs Carlson-"

"Oh please, just call me Lizzie. Now, tell me, I hear Chris Wilson is quite the catch, is it true that you two are together? Ah young love, so beautiful. It reminds me of my days of youth. Charlie might not look like it now but back then he was had over heels for me. Followed me every day but never had the courage to talk to me until one day I went over and talked to him, completely taking him by surprise."

Lizzie kept talking about her romantic story with Charlie. And honestly, it was the cutest! When they became a couple, it became the newspaper's headlines because both were from rival businesses. Like a Romeo and Juliet story but with a happy ending. They ended up eloping and getting married. He was driven out of the family and he had to fend for himself, Lizzie never left his side then. That's why Charlie treats his wife like a treasure he gained. Maybe because he himself could not believe that he got such a wonderful woman as his wife.

"Tell me Luna, what do you like about Chris. I know him since he was a child, he never showed any feelings towards women which made me suspect that he's into men. Now that he brought you here, I will believe him when he tries to convince me he's 'straight'. So tell me, what do you like about him?"

She knew him since he was a child, one small slip and she can figure out that this is all an act.

I used the word 'weird' too much lol. But what to do, the situation demanded it.

Also, SLEEP is important, get a good night's sleep people!
