18 Chapter 18: Wake Up Sleepy Head

"Hey! Morning time! Get up!" I hear yelling coming from the living room to my bedroom. I wiped my face and slammed my head to the pillow. "5 MORE MINUTES... I'M STILL TOO TIRED." I shouted, quickly drifting back to sleep.

These beds are not soft and trying to sleep in these is like trying to sleep in solid brick. It's not as fluffy and comfortable as the ones in the castle but what did I really expect by living the commoner life. I don't think commoners sleep in luxurious queen size beds in their houses.

I remained in my bed. Carefully adjusting my body, laying on my stomach to relax me even more so I can drift back to sleep. Completely ignoring the yelling and screaming outside of the door.

"Princess.. you have to wake up. We have a lot of things to do today. You know that tomorrow is the first day of schooling at Tomoki High school. So please stop dragging your feet and get out of bed."

I put the pillows over my head to cover the noise. I just want to rest for a while. It's not like Lawrence can enter this room anyway.

Moments later... I hear footsteps coming to my room. The stomps come closer as I try to wake up.

"BOOM SHACALAKA!" Lawrence suddenly JUST KICKS MY DOOR OPEN like some kind of martial artist.

"WHY DID YOU JUST KICK MY DOOR OPEN LIKE THAT! It's rude to just enter a lady's quarters you know?" I said giving him a pouty face. "Besides I'm pretty sure it's still too early. Why could we possibly be doing right now."

"Are you just blind or stupid?" He crosses his arms. Giving me attitude.

"I don't appreciate that tone.. why are you being a bit sour today?"

"It's 11 PM. It's almost lunchtime and you still haven't even eaten breakfast!" He shouted, showing me a clock.

"OH MY GOD! IT IS... WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP?!"

"Trying to wake you up is like trying to wake up a slug, I've been trying all morning to wake you up. You already know about how you are so hard to wake up even water is not enough to get you out of your bed." He sighs, shoving me out of the bed.

"I'll go ahead and fix your bed. Although I expect you to fix it in the following days, considering that this bed is not really like the queen-sized beds where you need multiple maids to clean everything." He grabs the sheets and aligns them perfectly. He made the bed neat and tidy as I stood at the distance.

"What are we going to have for lunch?" I asked him. I wiped my eyes and stretched a little as I can feel this sore at the back of my neck.

"You know. For being the princess of an entire country. You could have at least placed us in good living quarters.." He turned his head around squinting at me. "Trying to sleep in these dorm room beds is not a very comfortable experience."

"LIKE SERIOUSLY! THERE ARE OTHER DORM ROOMS WITH BUILT-IN SAUNAS AND BATHS PLUS MAIDS AND BUTLERS. WHY DO WE HAVE TO LIVE IN THE SLUMS WITH THIS PEOPLE!"

"I guess it's part of the commoner life. I kind of want the whole experience so like that's why I chose to live in the normal dorm rooms. You know. We are here to experience how to live like a commoner so I can better help my people got it." I giggled, giving him a friendly smile.

"Nice try if you think this whole, "I'm a good leader" thing is gonna work then you're surely mistaken. I know you only came here so you could live out your novel fantasies." He glared at me with skepticism. I just giggled never bothering to give him a reply.

"Also if you're gonna ask about lunch. It's a lot of things actually. We have to go to the cafeteria to buy our lunches. So get dressed and take a bath or whatever and then let's head there now." He finished fixing the bed and grabbed the towel, handing it to me.

I nodded and took it from his hands. I opened the bathroom. It was a bit underwhelming than my usual bathrooms... it's so small and compact.. and well... it's kind of mediocre really. I am really starting to regret using my big mouth with this commoner thing.

I sucked it up and proceeded to take a shower by turning on one of the two knobs. They were color-coded, one was red and the other was blue. I try to grab the red knob... IT SUDDENLY JUST WENT OFF...

"What the... the knob.. just broke..." I said, dumbfounded as I lay down the metal knob in the sink.

"Oh! That knob is broken. The school is actually going to send someone to fix a few things in this dorm so. Bear with that one for a while." I hear Lawrence shouting from outside the bathroom.

I INHALED AND EXHALED DEEPLY. Just bear with it... I turned the knob of the blue colored one and water starts to fall down the shower.

I took my shower and washed as I finished. I got dressed with the provided clean clothes outside the shower room. I dried my hair and got neatly dressed up in commoner clothing as to blend in with the students on the school grounds. After I got dressed I got out and brushed my teeth in the sink.

A few minutes later and I'm finally done with all the things I needed to do and I'm finally ready to head outside!

"Alright, I'm finished! Let's go to the cafeteria!" I shouted at Lawrence who is preparing our bags.

"Sure! I've gathered a bag for the both of us since we are going to be doing a lot of things today after eat lunch so please be in your best behavior." He said to me like a chaperone.

Oh boy.. well! Time to head outside and see the world! Wish me luck!
