Chapter 6: Kanna Kamui

It's another normal day at Kobayashi's place, Aito, is always on his video games, Kobayashi is out for work, and Thoru as usual is doing the dishes, cooking, and the laundry, except that...they did not know that today is going be full of surprises.

Since Kobayashi was working, she obviously could not get the time to get the groceries, so it was decided that Thoru, or better said Thoru asked if she could help with the stuff that Kobayashi needed at home, A list was provided each week so that nothing is missing at home.

Except that this was gonna be a particular day, Kobayashi called 15 minutes before her official schedule was finished.

The call came as follows:

Kobayashi: "Hello? Thoru?"

Thoru: "Yes Miss Kobayashi? It's unusual for you to call before getting out of work, are you okay"?

Kobayashi: "Yes, yes, I'm fine Thoru, thanks for asking."

Thoru: "So what's going on Miss Kobayashi?"

Kobayashi: "Well I will get back home later than expected."

Thoru: "Why is that? Did something happen to your workplace? I'm starting to get worried Miss Kobayashi."

Kobayashi: "Oh, no, don't worry about that, nothing serious, It is just that we got a big client, and my boss wants our team to finish that project."

Thoru: "I hate your boss!"

Kobayashi: "I can't do anything about Thoru...sometimes I hate him too, but that's life, and I need to finish that work."

Thoru: "Oww, unfair. Maybe I can burn your boss or the entire building, Hahahaha!!"

Kobayashi: "Think about idiot, if you do that, how am I going to work?"

Thoru: "Oh yeah...that's true...sorry Miss Kobayashi."

Kobayashi: "It's fine. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Don't wait for me to eat, If you get hungry, I will eat what you prepared when I get home, and please, do not destroy my house."

Thoru: "Okie dokie Miss Kobayashi."

Kobayashi: "Thanks Thoru. hang up please I need to get back to work, See ya."

Thoru: "Okay Miss Kobayashi."

And that's it she hung up.

Aito who was still stuck on his video games pressing all sorts kind of buttons, asked a question:

"Who was it?"

"It was Miss Kobayashi" replied Thoru disappointed.

Aito stopped paused his game, as he heard the disappointed tone of Thoru and replied:

"Is something the matter? You seem sad."

"No, I'm fine, it is just that Miss Kobayashi is going to get back home late today" replied thou

"Did something happen to her?" Replied directly Aito starting to be worried.

"No...no don't worry, everything is fine, She's just going to be late tonight" Replied Thoru

"Ah...ok. Are you sure you will be fine? Thoru?" Answered Aito still worried about her.

"Yea don't worry about me." Thoru was expressing a large smile on her face, but Aito could still see the disappointment on her face.

"You know what?" replied Aito...

"What?" Thoru was looking at him puzzled.

"Let's go do the groceries for that human together. What do you think?" Replied Aito.

"Sure!" Replied Thoru.

~In the working place of Kobayashi~

The office was full of noise, typing noises, People asking for documents, and of course, the boss who was yelling on each occasion when he saw someone typing slower than they were supposed to do.

"Hey Kobayashi tell me after work want to get some alcohol to get off the pressure of the work of today?" Asked a young man...

"Oh, I'm sorry I can't today Tayika. I have to get home as soon as possible, they are waiting for me," replied Kobayashi under the pressure of work while managing to reply so that her boss could not hear.

"They?" Replied Tayika confused and then added "I thought you were living alone"

Kobayashi realized that Tayika was still not aware of the situation Kobayashi was in.

"I will explain to you next time, I promise" replied Kobayashi who this time was heard

"KOBAYASHI, TAYIKA, you will have the time of the world to talk to each other after the work is finished!! Or do I need to cut your pay if the work is not completed in due time??" Replied their boss.

So they got back to the speed of work they were supposed to maintain

~At the local market~

Thoru and Aito were walking down the little market to get the groceries asked on the list earlier this morning.

"So what do we need to get for the human" asked Aito.

"Can you stop calling Miss Kobayashi Human? She has a name just like you and me" Retorted Thoru.

"Yea yea...sure," replied Aito annoyed by that remark.

~After getting their groceries on their way back home~

"Something is odd," said Aito out of the blue.

"What is your problem now?" replied Thoru

"I have that strange sensation that we are being followed," said Aito while being on his guard.

*Snif...Snif* "Now that you say that, I got to like some familiar smell" Added Thoru

Suddenly out of nowhere, a little figure that looked like a little girl fell out of the sky directly crashing into Thoru, while screaming out her lungs:

"Miss I finally found you!!"

Without thinking Thoru threw the bag of groceries on Aito's face and caught the little girl.

She was really small, Some hornes on her head, Blue-green water eyes, with some bangs on the sides from white to the top and degrade to a light violet tone. She was in a cute little pink and white dress somehow looking as a poncho.

A few second passed before Thoru could recognise the small little girl in the arms, she then asked to the little one:

"Kanna? What are you doing here?"

"It is not important Miss Thoru, i am here and that is all that count" Kanna then added a large smile, But then added as she was pointing in Aito's direction:

"Miss Thoru, Who is that little boy?"

"Who are you anyway to give me that stupid title? Did you even saw your height? Huh?" Added Aito after feeling apparently offensed by the 'Title' Kanna gave him.

"C'mon please you two here is not the time to actually discuss such matter, let's go home first" Thoru felt kind of ashamed by their behaviour in the neighbourhood as some of the neighbours we watching them.

After getting home, Thoru explained the whole situation to Kanna and also who kanna was to Aito, but it does not to have work so much as he was holding a little grudge toward her from earlier.

"Okay nice, i know who she is but why is she even here to begin with? Isn't she supposed to stay where she belongs?" Aito added

"So is you little boy!" kanma started to grimace at him which did not failed to annoy him.

"Kanna please...You are more mature than this, plus he is right, why are you here anyway? Did something happened?"

As her look seems to indicate, she had something to hide...

"Oh nothing, i just wanted to stay for sometimes in the human world Miss Thoru" She made soft eyes with her while justifying herself.

"Umm, i see, i still have doubt but i will give the benefits of the doubt on this Kanna" Said Thoru perplexed.

"Anyway...i'm going back to that machine to play a little bit while you cook Thoru." Said Aito

"See? I knew you were a little boy, boys always play and do nothing else of their day, some kind of lazy creatures" Added Kanna

"OHHHH, Shut up you baby!" Replied Aito.

"Well, Kanna if you really think that, why don't you proove to me that you are not like him and come to help me" Said Thoru hapilly

"YEA! I am coming right away Miss Thoru" Kanna Trotted hapilly towards her.

A few hours passed, and it was already late, pitched black outside and there was still no sign of Kobayashi anywhere, nor a call to tell if she was coming home. A thing that surely made Thoru worried, but resisted against her urge to call Kobayashi.

Half an hour passed, and still no sign of her, and as she was about crack and call her, she came home.

"Good evening you two hope your day was nice and hope you did not destroyed anything." Asked Kobayashi, but she noticed the little figure standing aside of Thoru.

"Hello Miss Kobay-" wanted to say Thoru but did not got the time to finish her phrase that kobayshi already asked another question:

"Thoru tell me, is she one of your friends? Is she a dragon too?"

"Uhh, yes she is, Miss Kobayashi, this is Kanna Kamui, but you can call her Kanna, and this Miss Kobayashi Kanna" Smiling as she was happy to introduce one of her friends to Kobayashi.

"Can...can i stay here please?" Asked Kanna gently.

"Um, i see no problem to actually let you live in my house for sometimes, but don't you have a place to rest?" Asked Kobayashi curiously.

"I don't want to go back!" She took a frustrated tone.

Thoru and Aito as well as Kobayashi was suprised by the response Kanna Gave.

"Is something the matter Kanna?" Asked Thoru worried.

Kanna Replied simply:

"I...i just don't want...to go back there...They-"

She seemed to be sad about her situation, and quite affraid too. Thoru was trying as hard as she could to try to understand why Kanna did not wanted to go back.

Miss Kobayashi approached Kanna Slowly, putted herself at her height and pats her head gently. Kanna's seemed to have a quite positive response to it

And begin to talk to her:

"Well, i don't know what happened up there or down there, depending from where you come from, but i can see you are suffering and that you are affraid of that current situation. It may be somehow odd to you, but i am ready to welcome you home, and feed you as much as you need. You probably don't have any reason to trust me at all and i totally understand this, you probably on your guard just like Aito is."

While listening to those words Thoru's heart melt once again she was really emotional while earing all those things for Kanna

Aito was listening to every words Kobayashi was saying carefully

Kanna started to feel more secure and calmer while still listening to Kobayashi's Words

"I am not asking you to give me your full trust at once to me, or at all, but let me tell you, Thoru's and Aito's friends are also my friends, plus there is no way i am not gonna let you sleep outside, not a kid like you nor anyone to be honest, i still have feelings and emphathy after all."

Kanna stared directly into kobayashi's eyes, she was crying, she probably never heard someone saying that to her with delicacy and respect. Thinking that those words really touched her heart which sent a strong signal to kobayshi, She continue to say what she had to say, smoothly and gently.

"What i am trying to say is that, you can go to your own pace with me, i will never blame you for this. And with time we will be able to know each others and do things together.

I promise i am not going to reject you Kanna"

a while smile appeared on Kobayashi's face as she finished the sentence.

Kanna directly without hesitation hugged Kobayashi and thanked her, meanwhile Aito was very septic about all of this, his trust level did not have rised at all apparently even after seeing that display of kindness.

Well it is only the start of this journey, there is still plenty of time for him to trust Kobayashi.

"Well i think it is settled then" Added Thoru.

"Yes it is, thank you Miss Kobayashi" replied Kanna

"Well i am going to bath, eat and head to bed becauase i still have a load of work tommorow, unfortunately."

"Maybe i should actually destroy that building" added Thoru irritated

"Thoru? What did i told earlier?" Replied Kobayashi

"Arghh, i know...but i REALLY hate your boss Miss Kobayashi" added Thoru

Kobayashi Added:

"Trust me Thoru, i hate him more than you do, more than you can imagine, but i have no choice this is how human Soceiety is"

"Umm" added Thoru still frustrated while pouting.

"Anyway, it is time to go sleeping everyone" added Kobayashi.

"Miss Kobayashi?" Asked Thoru with a playful smile.

"Yes Thoru?" Replied

She suddenly jumped on Kobayashi.

"LET ME SLEEP WITH YOU TONIGHT MISS KOBAYASHI"

Kanna saw that and immediately jumped too thinking it was a game.

"I am coming too Miss Kobayashi."

"AH, NO PLEASE, THOURU STOP, OW, Arghh, NO PLEASE DON'T KANNA...AHHHH!!" Added Kobayashi.

This went for a few hours before Kobayashi could get some sleep...

She finally putted them in their bed, and head on her's

"Arhhhh what a night, i never imagined dragon could have such enegry playing for so long but it is fun to have them around, i wonder what surprise they are going to show me..."

She then switched off her light, covered helself with her blanket and slept to end the day.
