Chapter 4: A New Home

The day after that followed the last night, Aito and Thoru, were in that human's house, Aito, who hasn't been drunk last night, was still uncomfortable about the idea of living here. But Thoru, was excited, you could see her beautiful smile as she woke up, it lightens up the entire room, it has been a long time since Aito saw Thoru that happy.

After a while, they finally walked out of the room they were sleeping, when entering the common space, they could see, the young woman preparing some coffee, for herself.

Thoru, suddenly, called the young woman.

"Hey, there, here, miss."

The young woman turned to face Thoru and Aito. She had a very puzzled expression.

"Uhh...Who...W-who are you?? And why are you here?"

Aito and Thoru were confused at that moment, but Aito broke the silence.

"You are the one who told us, that we could come here, even though I don't even wanted to."

Thoru added:

"That's true miss, you....y-you...you were drunk when you said that."

The young woman was standing still, trying to think about a response. Then she added:

"Oh, I do things like that every time, but as a human, I don't think it would be right to abandon two children. So where are your belongings?"

Thoru's face turned so bright once again...Both Aito and the young woman could see, Thoru crying with happiness  Aito, was blank while the young lady was worried, and did not understand why she was crying.

Thoru, while still crying and sobbing from happiness said:

"Thank you, Miss, thank you so much."

Aito added once again:

"We don't have any belongings, we came here with nothing but our body and soul."

The young lady noticed the answer and then replied to Aito:

"So then I should provide you with some clothes, let's go to the clothing store."

Thoru was excited but asked a question:

"What is your name, Miss?"

The young lady realized that she has never introduced herself, and immediately did it:

"I'm sorry, where are my manners, I'm Kobayashi."

With enjoyment Thoru replied:

"Nice to meet you, Miss, Kobayashi. My name is Thoru."

She also added:

"Aito...Be respectful, Idiot."

Aito while complaining, finally decided to introduce himself too:

"Name's Aito, but don't expect me to trust you at all, you are a human, after all, humans are manipulators."

The expression of Thoru changed and apologized:

"Miss, Kobayashi, please forgive him, he is young and he doesn't know what he is talking about."

Aito replied with anger:

"Arhhhhh, Shut up!! I don't think there is a need to remind you what humans did to us, you are always being happy around humans as if you were one of them, when I see you, you look like you don't care about your family, always having a hope of living with these stupid humans, sometimes I even ask myself, if you were not happy when you family got killed by the humans.

Suddenly Thoru, with all her frustration, slapped Aito's face and replied with sorrow and sadness:

" Now stop! I prohibited you to talk about this thing, I'm sorry that you are thinking like this Aito, you have no idea how much I'm hurt right now, I care about my family, I miss them so much."

Thoru was sobbing but tried to retain her tears, while still replying to Aito...full of anger this time.

"But, I had human friends too, you can't put every single human in the same bag Aito, and don't tell me that you haven't any human friends, because I know you did. You don't even try to understand them, Humanity is a beautiful thing, full of unknown barriers to us, we still have a lot to know about them, humans, have a great capacity to show empathy towards each other, but they can be dumb sometimes, it's true, but not all of them. Here is an example Aito."

Thoru was pointing toward Kobayashi while still explaining her thoughts to Aito. But this time her voice was sweet and sorrowful

"If I took you here Aito, it's to, first of all, show you that not every human is the same Aito, I want you to appreciate humans like you did, in the past."

She approached Aito, and kneel to match his height:

"I'm sorry if I slapped you just now, I know that you miss your parents so much, Aito, but you can't do anything right now, they are gone."

As she finished her phrase, she started to cry on Aito's shoulder and then added again:

"We are perhaps not blood-related, but I highly consider you as my little brother, you...you...you...Y-You are the only family I have left, I don't want to lose you, I love you Aito."

As Aito heard those words, he broke down in tears, Hugged Thoru, tightly, and replied to Thoru with a broken voice.

"I'm sorry Thoru, I love you too, I...I did not mean to hurt you, it's just that they are missing me so much."

Thoru added while continuing to comfort Aito.

"It's okay, I know, you can cry, I'm here for you, I'm so-so sorry"

Kobayashi was all this time watching Aito and Thoru exchanging embraces, Arguments, and feelings, which made her thinking

[Poor them, and at the same time, my parents miss me too, even if they are still alive, I didn't get the occasion to visit them since I established myself here in this apartment]

Kobayashi hesitated to approach them for fear that Aito could reject her, but finally decide to join both of them in their embrace and added with a sweet and gentle voice.

"I don't know anything about you two, nor about what happened to you, but I just want you both to know that whatever the matter, I will do my best to help you both, I promise."

She stared at Aito and then asked Thoru with a head sign to withdraw so that she could talk to him. Thoru accepted. Aito was still quite wary but stayed put with a calm expression, listening carefully to each word that would come out of her mouth. Then she Started:

"Aito, please look at me"

Kobayashi's tone and expression were so relaxed that it was making Thoru comfortable and happy. Aito took some time but accepted to look at Kobayashi.

"Thank you. Well, I know that right now, you don't trust me at all, and I perfectly understand it, you have your reason and I accept it. I don't know what happened to you and Thoru, but if I can help you in whatever way, please tell me. I'm not asking you to trust me at all, nor Thoru by the way, I know it will take time, I'm not expecting a miracle or anything else in return for the service I will give you. If I'm helping you, it's because I want to do so, I have no back thoughts when I do it."

As Kobayashi was talking, the expression of Aito became softer, Thoru could see that Aito was relaxed and focused on what Kobashi was saying.

Kobayashi was continuing her speech:

"As I have heard just now, you don't seem to like humans because they betrayed you, let me tell you something Aito, Betrayal is a part of life, it is a lesson that is making aware of not giving your trust too fast, and it also makes you better at scanning and decerning the true nature of people. I know that life can be harsh sometimes, but it's not a reason, to turn your back on the one who loves you Aito, do you understand Aito?"

Aito replied:

"Yes, Miss, Kobayashi, I understand."

Happily, Kobayashi replied:

"That's great Aito. I just want to add one last thing, can I?"

Aito nodded to say yes. Then Kobayashi added with a sweet and delicate voice:

"What I'm about to say is something you will live with, your entire life. So listen to me carefully."

Aito Nodded to say again. Then Kobayashi added:

"Life is something beautiful, it allows you to discover a lot of things, cherish a lot of happy moments, and meet a lot of people, but life is also about sadness, Sorrow, regrets, Betrayal, and a lot of other bad things, you can't remove them even if you don't like them it forms part of everyone's life. What I want you to remember, is that whatever life throws at you, you should never forget that there are a lot of people that love you whether they are alive or not, so don't keep things that hurt you to yourself, it will make them stronger, and they are going to hurt you more. Don't forget that Aito."

After she finished her speech, she opened her arms to hug Aito, but she did not moved, she wanted Aito to make the move.

Aito was still staring into Kobayashi's eyes to see if she was lying or had back thoughts, but Kobayashi was still smiling even though she knew that it would be difficult.

Thoru was worried, she thought that even after all of this, Aito will still not want to make a contact with a human.

Aito, after a while, decided to hug Kobayashi tightly and whispered something into Kobayashi's ear.

"Thank you, Miss, Kobayashi, but I still can't trust you just yet, you are a good person for sure, but I'm sorry, it will take time."

Kobayashi Replied while still whispering to Aito:

"Don't worry, I understand, I will wait."

Thoru suddenly added:

"Ehhhh what are all those low maize, are you ignoring me!?"

Both of Kobayashi and Aito started to burts into laugh. Thoru was pouting as she did not liked the 2 of them laughing at her.

"Anyway, i think we have to buy you some clothes for you both no?" Added Kobayashi

"Yaayyyy!!!! Let's goo!!" Replied Thoru

And this is how Aito and Thoru got a A New Home.
