We're not the only one?

Soon the sun rose to its highest point, emitting glorious lights down upon the world indicating the noon time, intending to comfort people's loneliness, Just for it to be completely blocked off by the sea of milky white clouds.

Growl... growl... growl...

Inside the carriage, people's stomachs started to growl rapidly, normally in the orphanage, all of them got to eat three meals a day on time, but from today onward they knew that such things wouldn't happen again, at least not in a long time.

After all, they hadn't even gotten their breakfast yet, and no one dared to ask for it for fear of angering the man, three of them each held their stomachs trying to stop them from making sounds, while continuously swallowing their saliva hoping that it could subdued their hunger down.

He Chin who couldn't hold it any longer asked the other two dispiritedly "Do you think we will be eating anything at all today?"

"Who knows... but we won't starve to death for sure." Pan Kun replied weakly.

Unexpectedly the man stopped the carriage.

Hearing this everyone started to hold their breath in panic while they prayed silently in their mind.

The carriage door was unlocked and opened by the unknown who was responsible for their transportation to wherever they got sold off to.

"Come out, it's time to eat your food." The man said.

Seeing that no one moved, he asked coldly "You're not waiting for me to lift you all down aren't you?"

"No sir. our body was just too stiff to move immediately, but we will get down now." Seeing that the man had no intention of taking off their blindfold Pan Kun replied in fear.

Three of them got out of the carriage one by one, Zheng Lin being the first one while He Chin being the last one to be out.

"Kids come and sit down here." Another man's voice sounded out in front of them.

They walked tremblingly to where the man's sound came from slowly while trying not to trip down.

"Stop, just sit down and wait here, we will be giving you guys food soon" He ordered them in a low voice and walked off somewhere.

Three of them sat down instantly without hesitation happily while waiting for their food.

"So you guys also got sold off too..." Said a kid sitting on the other side of them.

"Huh, who are you?" Zheng Lin questioned him.

"We're just like you, we got sold off by our orphanage to this organization, and not just us but another group too." He replied depressingly

"Another group too? how many people are there in total?"

"Total? it will be around 9 if we don't count your group..."

So there are 9 other kids beside us who also got sold off by their orphanage...

Putting that aside, this guy seemed to be the leader of these 2 groups, he might know something about where we're being taken to...

It's better if I ask him so that I can decide whether or not to take the risks to escape from these people...

"Do you know where we are being taken to?"

"Dead Corps, this is the name of the organization that we are being taken to."

"Dead Corps? why does it sound so evil?"

"Because it is an evil organization, they practice the art of puppets there."

"Art of puppet... what is that?"

"That, I don't know too... I just happened to hear them talking about it."

Just when Zheng Lin was about to ask him another question, the sound of footsteps walking from behind him sounded out, so he could only swallow his next words and kept them until the next opportunity came.

The man walked closer to them and handed out bread to everybody presented without saying anything as if he hadn't overheard them talking and sharing information with each other.

Holding the bread in his hand, Zheng Lin couldn't wait any longer and took a bite out of it, when the bread reached his tongue, he instantly closed his mouth forcefully to not spit it out subconsciously because the food tasted so bad that one would rather starve to death instead of eating this.

It was hard, cold, and tasted like spoiled food, he swore that he had never eaten anything that tasted this badly, but without a choice, he could only force himself to swallow it for the sake of living to figure out why the orphanage had sold him off to this evil organization.

Who would eat this type of thing... and do we have to eat this every day?

Sight... but seemed like the people from other groups had gotten used to this...

Wait, how about He Chin?

He Chin who liked eating food, felt that the food was gonna taste so bad the moment he touched it, so he was a bit hesitant to eat it, yet his stomach kept making a sound nonstop as it sensed the presence of food telling him to devour it.

Finally, he gave in to his hunger and became the last person to eat his portion, he took a small bite out of it with a very low expectation of its taste, little did he know that he still overestimated the taste of it.

"Pauff... ARGHH!" He Chin couldn't help spitting out the food that he just consumed, he couldn't bring himself to swallow it no matter what, because his body just refused it subconsciously.

It requires one to have great willpower to eat such food, either you get used to it with the passage of time like the other groups of kids who got sold off to these men earlier than them or you force yourself to get used to it as to avoid the chance of conflicts with the people from the Dead Corps Organization.

Everybody stopped eating their food and just sat still waiting for the man to punish He Chin with no intention of getting involved or helping him, the other groups of kids didn't know this guy so naturally they won't help him.

As for Zheng Lin, he was too fed up with this guy's childishness, besides there was nothing that he could do even if he wanna offered a helping hand to He Chin, things seemed to be the same for Pan Kun.
