84 Julia Collapsed!

At this moment, Lucas felt that something went wrong. The girl's slender fingertips were still holding his sleeve. Her face was very pale. The corners of her eyes were scarlet red, and her eyelashes were wet. She was so fragile as a feather that scratched his heart.

He frowned and asked, "Are you alright?"

Julia was a little uncomfortable, and she put her other hand on Lucas's wrist and whispered, "I'm not feeling well."

Her cold and wet palm held his wrist bone. The coldness seemed to be mixed with a fire. As his Adam's apple unconsciously moved, Lucas felt the fire was spreading from his wrist bone with a slightly numb feeling, to the bottom of his heart.

In the next second, Julia collapsed onto him.

It was as if a pitch—black grassland had been ignited, and the blazing flames instantly spread out, burning into the limbs and bones.

Lucas hugged her back tightly. His mind went blank as if a lightning had flashed past his ears. There remained only a buzzing sound. Beside him, the assistant cried out in panic, "911, call 911."

However, he felt as if the voice came from outer space, a million miles away.

Only the tender girl in his arms was real.

He remembered that when the woman whom he had always admired, cried in front of him, he immediately imposed the false on this stubborn girl. But she didn't say anything for herself.

He didn't know why.

Perhaps it was because when he first saw her, her eyes that reflected the strong determination impressed him deeply. The light in her clear eyes was so different that he had never seen it before.

He tried to make his strange thoughts clear, but it felt too strange.

He didn't understand.

....

Outside the ward, Lucas took out his phone and thought for a moment before dialing the number, although he didn't know if his brother would come or not.

But thinking of Julia's pale face, he felt that it was better to tell him. They were still married, anyway.

The man on the other end of the phone said coldly, "What's the matter?"

"It's fine. The doctor said that it should be caused by hypoglycemia. Ford do not bother if you're busy. I just let you know..."

"I see." Beeping sounds of busy lines could be heard from over there.

Lucas looked at his phone and remained silent for a second, not knowing how to describe his mood.

It would be better if he just won't come.

"Lucas, the crew is asking when we will be back.…" The assistant asked cautiously.

"I won't go." Lucas replied three words. There was no one to take care of Julia. At the very least, he had to wait for someone to take care of her before he could leave.

The assistant said nothing and he knew that his boss cared nothing but love.

Damn, serving a boss who doesn't care money is scary.

The assistant thought for a while and then advised, "Why don't you hire a nursing worker for Julia? You should go to the crew first. I know you are anxious for your sweetheart's illness, which is understandable. But the doctor has said she is ok, just having a little hypoglycemia...."

Lucas looked at him and asked, "What did you say?"

The assistant was stunned, "Hypoglycemia?"

"And?"

"You should go to the crew first?"

"And?"

"You are anxious for your sweetheart 's illness?"

Lucas was impatient and cursed, "Are you crazy? When did I fucking say she was my sweetheart?"

The assistant was stunned and involuntarily said, "Last time...."

"What happened last time?" Lucas's beautiful face twisted angrily.

The assistant opened his small eyes wider with astonishment. Who almost kissed her in the car last time?

"Nothing." In the end, the assistant's desire to survive triumphed over reason, and he finally came to his senses. It turned out that his boss didn't want to disclose their relationship.

Julia was little—known, so she just wanted to take advantage of his boss's popularity. He heard that they knew each other long before....

Great! There is no need to worry about that.

After the assistant left, Lucas looked at his palm again. His heart still felt numb.

He raised his eyebrows and scolded, "F*ck!"

....

Deep into the night, Julia frowned tightly. There were some twisted hair and sweat on her smooth forehead.

Within the pitch—black room, the aura was gloomy and oppressive, and her hands and feet seemed to be bound, unable to move.

Shattered fragments of memory flashed through her head. The sky darkened, and the rain poured down.

A youth propped himself up on one knee in humiliation. Blood gushed out from his body and legs, mixed with endless muddy water.

In the rainstorm, the youth slowly raised his head to look at her. He had a pair of bloody beast—like eyes on his filthy face.

"Julia.....Run!"

A desperate voice squeezed out from his throat. She didn't know what to do and where to go. She was extremely panicked and wanted to ask for help.

Then she heard the sound of footsteps, but she was too frightened to move her feet.

A strange fragrance assailed her nose, and an ice—cold hand was stretched out to slowly stroked her face, her eyebrows, her nose, and finally her lips….

Julia bit her lips tightly. The youth let out an extremely low chuckle as he slowly approached her. His breath swallowed her ear bones.

Before the darkness turned into a twisted monster and devoured her, he whispered, "Escape?"

Julia felt extremely scary. There only remained the sound of lightning and thunder in her mind, and endless pain assaulted her.

.....

A luxury car stopped at the private hospital. A tall man wearing expensive black leather shoes got off and stepped on the tiles, which made a slight sound. Because of the long journey, the man looked a little weary, but it did not affect his noble temperament.

Lucas was sitting on a bench outside. It was the late night. He originally half—narrowed his eyes, but the little sound of footsteps made him wake up.

He opened his eyes and stood up, calling out, "Brother!"

Ford glanced at him, and his face was perfect from his eyebrows to his thin lips. He asked calmly, "How is she?"

Lucas did not expect that Ford could arrive here so quickly. He must have rushed over here without hesitation after his phone call. He had a strange feeling, and felt that something was wrong.

After a pause, when he was just about to speak, the sound of tables and chairs being knocked over came from behind him.

Ford's pupils shrank slightly. He went past Lucas and kicked the door open. The dim light outside came in. Seeing the scene inside, his entire handsome face darkened.

The girl hugged herself and huddled in the corner. Her body trembled, and her lips were bitten tightly. She was very scared, but she did not make a sound.

Lucas came in and was stunned. He didn't know what to do next. He found a strange feeling seemed to be torturing his heart.

Was this really.....Julia?

That sharp—tongued Julia who was not afraid of anything?

Ford walked a few steps to Julia and slowly squatted down. He held her shoulder with both hands, and his voice carried a restrained softness, "...Julia."
