153 Carried Her On His Back....

As they were close, Lucas found the skin behind her ears was red with goose bumps. In his trance, his finger tips touched her soft skin. He shuddered and drew back his hand, whispering, "Hurry in."

Then, he got on his car without turning his head.

Julia was puzzled. Why did he leave so abruptly?

She turned around to press the elevator button, finding that the LCD screen was dark. This was a high—end residential area where the facilities seldom went wrong, so it would be fixed in no time.

There was no signal in the underground parking lot, so Julia had to turn around and headed to the elevator on the other side.

The parking lot was very large and spacious. The wind was blowing, occasionally producing some mechanical sounds. It was creepy in the silence of night.

Julia clenched her purse tightly and walked forward. Suddenly a hand reached her from her back. Without thinking, she knocked it off with her purse, and turned back kicking the person between the legs. She staggered a little when she lost her balance.

The man was wearing a black baseball cap, which covered half of his face. He nimbly moved to the side, and his palm grabbed Julia's wrist. She panicked and bit the man's elbow, kicking him in the knee.

The man obviously bent his knee, but he did not fall. Julia leaned back and got her foot stuck in the creek of the drainage grid, falling to the ground.

The man was surprised and reached out his arm to steady her balance. He took off his cap, revealing his handsome face. He said crisply, "Julia....."

He was dressed in a black suit, wearing a costly watch. His black hair was combed back, looking more dignified and elegant than before.

Julia was stunned by the handsome face for a few seconds, and then found her voice, "Mark? Aren't you abroad?"

Mark raised his eyebrows slightly, replying with joy, "I just came back today."

He just came back, and he couldn't wait to see her the moment he got off the plane.

Unexpectedly he saw Lucas making his move to chase Julia, which upset him terribly.

"Why didn't you say anything just now? You scared me!" Julia was relieved, and she started to worry about his knee, "Is your knee alright?"

Mark leaned forward slightly, his jaw was sharp and elegant. He smiled, "Julia, do you care about me?"

"I'm so happy." He added.

His voice was typical of a boy, crisp and gentle, carrying some unknown emotions.

Julia was taken back. She found it improper to get so close with him.

The boy leaned forward, his arms were on her back. He gazed at her eagerly with smiling eyes, which made Julia feel embarrassed.

The boy had grown up, and it was not proper to be so intimate with him.

Dodging his arm, she got slowly to her feet.

Mark clearly felt her rejection, which upset him. But he extended his hand and said sweetly, "Julia, let me help you..."

Julia refused involuntarily, "It's fine, I can do it."

She drew her foot out, and pain took her. She groaned softly.

Unfortunately, she had sprained her ankle.

Mark reached out and grabbed Julia's arm. Looking at her with burning eyes, he said with grievance, "Julia, I have been abroad for a long time and you are growing apart from me."

"..." Julia didn't know what to say.

Before she could replied, Mark sighed softly, "Don't hate me, okay?"

"I had been excluded by everyone except you when I was young."

"If it weren't for you, I would have lived in darkness for the rest of my life … You brought me light and hope."

"In my heart, you are always my elder sister. Now I'm a grownup, and I want to guard you. So, please, let's get along like we used to be."

Julia was stunned.

She knew about Mark's past. It was said that his abnormal mother often abused him. Julia had seen the wounds on his arm a few times, so she's the one who took care of Mark at that time.

He was weak and unsociable, and she found it difficult to integrate into the new family, so they felt sympathetic for each other. She looked after him like a real sister.

Now that Mark talked about the past lightly, exposing his old wound, Julia felt ashamed. She shouldn't have got him wrong.

While she was thinking, Mark squatted down to check her foot, gently pressing his fingers on her fair ankle. Seeing her frowned, he asked, "Does it hurt?"

Julia nodded. It hurt. She was unlucky. Next time she'd better not fight if she had no marital skills.

Mark turned his back to her, bent his knee, and said naturally, "Julia, climb up."

She hesitated.

"You can't walk now, otherwise it will get swollen." Mark turned to gaze at her saying, "Or... you want to stay home for a few days, otherwise you have to listen to me."

That hit home. Julia had no time to stay home for a few days, as her schedule for the coming days was tight.

She got down on his back, putting her hands in front of Mark, who grabbed her legs naturally and walked steadily.

There was a faint pleasant fragrance from Mark, clean and crisp.

When they entered the elevator, he suddenly turned around his face asking, "Which floor?"

Being too abrupt, Julia's lips almost scraped his cheeks. She got very embarrassed, leaning backward to a safe distance, and replied, "The sixth floor."

Mark turned back his head naturally without any expression, as if he did not notice how close they had got.

Only then did Julia let out a sigh of relief and got annoyed with herself. She thought too much.

"Julia, Ford and you…" Mark paused for a moment. "Is it completely over?"

Words had failed Julia. She paused for a while, and replied, "Yes."

"I want you to be happy." Mark continued, "However, if you feel unhappy, it's fine. Don't stress yourself."

"..." Having lost for words. She find it funny.

In fact, Ford had been with her in her youth, just like Mark and Lucas. Having suddenly separated from the person who you've been chasing for six years, It was normal that she felt a bit sad.

After all, Ford was her first love.

But all of this was hidden in her heart, and she didn't want anyone to know about it. Besides, she's moving on.

And those things belong in the past.

She could tell that Mark was concerned about her and wished the best for her. Such consolation was precious at a time like this.

The elevator opened, but Mark stood still, staring ahead.

Julia looked up, stunned by the figure outside the elevator.

Mark regained his calmness in no time. Stepping out of the elevator, he address the person before him softly, "Hello brother."
