Capturing a Magical Beast

Chapter 6 Capturing a Magical Beast

Author: M_W Cancer

As the location of the Wind Dimensional Building was very far away from the Territory Editing Hall, it took Wayne nearly an hour to get there. In fact, if only he wasn't the one that puts the building over that location, he would have long thought that he was lost in the forest.

He really regretted now his decision before of putting the Wind Dimensional Building in such a far place.

"Seriously, why did I even think of putting the Wind Dimensional Building at the northwest corner of the Mischievous God Zoo?" Wayne can't help exclaiming.

As soon as he arrived, Wayne immediately saw an enormous 500 square meter circular globe-shaped building.

He quickly realized that the Wind Dimensional Building is even more astonishing than simply looking at its three-dimensional model inside the Storage of the orange panel.

[To continue, please get inside the Wind Dimensional Building.]

Hearing the new instruction from Gaia, Wayne didn't hesitate to push the glass revolving door and walk inside the Wind Dimensional Building.

The moment he arrived inside, Wayne immediately found himself in a place much bigger than what he had initially expected. It even felt like he's inside some kind of a huge laboratory that does experiment on living animals.

What shocked him the most though was the gray-colored portal located right in the middle of the building. It was swirling peacefully in the middle as if it was nothing but just mere decoration.

Suddenly...

Whooosh! Whooosh! Whooosh!

Out of nowhere, a gray-colored light began shinning out from the portal as it shoots straight towards the 10 rooms surrounding it.

Afterwards, the empty rooms shockingly started changing from merely having white walls into some sort of video that is showing a floating island.

The scene then suddenly began zooming in before finally showing the same exact scene, specifically a tall tree with a white bird on top of one of its branches.

This white bird was unlike any bird that he has seen on Earth. It's a 2 feet tall white bird which has really long twin tails, a music tone symbol located at its back, while it was currently singing a song that he doesn't know the title.

[We've found a Wind Song Parrot! It's a level 1 Magical Beasts of both Sound and Wind Element.]

In front of Wayne, an orange panel suddenly appeared with a question and two choices.

[Host, Wayne Anderson, would you like to capture the Wind Song Parrot?]

[Yes] [No]

Seeing the choices, Wayne asked cautiously, "What would happen if I choose 'Yes'?"

[If you choose 'Yes', then you would have to get inside the portal and battle the Wind Song Parrot. You'd be required to bring its health as low as possible enough for the Wind Dimensional Building to successfully capture it.]

So it's almost like how the game Pokemon works? Just lower the Pokemon's health as low as possible and then throw a Pokeball to capture it.

But he strongly doubts that it would be as simple as that...

"Then what if I choose 'No'?" Wayne raised another question.

[If you choose 'No', then we will search for another Magical Beast that you can capture. We will repeat this over and over again until you finally capture a Magical Beast.]

[A friendly reminder though, not all the time would you be able to land upon a Level 1 Magical Beast like the Wind Song Parrot, and there is also a limit of how many chances you can skip before the Wind Dimensional Building itself will automatically choose a Magical Beast for you. At that time, the chances are random, so all I can say to you is Good luck!]

"Good luck?" Wayne furrowed his brows together.

[Good luck in surviving.]

Just like what he had expected.

Wayne's expression turned ugly as he asked, "So what you mean to say is that I would die if I ever encounter a powerful Magical Beast?"

[Yes!]

"No, revive or the likes?"

[Of course, there is a revive!]

Wayne can't help heaving a sigh of relief, knowing that there is a way to at least be able to revive himself after dying. With that, he doesn't need to always worry about his survival.

[According to my analysis in the games you've played before, the most revives I could give you is 3 lives.]

"Thre... three lives?! Don't you think it's a bit too low?" Wayne quickly became nervous. With such amount of lives, he would still need to worry about his survival. In fact, he even feels like he might just die very quickly.

[No, not at all. I've seen you play all of those games before in your memories, and you've survived and won the game despite only having 3 lives.]

"But all of those games also allow me to repeatedly play them over and over again after losing all of my 3 lives," Wayne explained.

[You do know right that this is still a reality and not a mere game? Giving you 3 lives is already a lot of consideration and not to mention it's against the rules of life and death.]

"I..." Wayne was completely speechless at Gaia. Indeed, what Gaia had said was correct. But, they should at least give him more lives in order to let him adapt to this place, right? He believes that giving him such an amount of consideration is just within the limit, considering that they took him here without giving him any choice.

[Actually, we gave you a choice, and that is to pick the Orange Cube that you've found on the ground or not. Since you decided to pick it, that means you have accepted being brought here.]

"..." Wayne felt even more speechless now. This is his first time encountering a choice where there is not even a clear question. Even math problems are considered as very easy compared to this.

[Don't worry that much though, since there is also a way for you to get more lives. One is to simply capture a Magical Beast. Each Level of the Magical Beast you have captured represents the amount of lives that you will get. Like for example, if you get a Level 99 Magical Beast, you will get 99 lives. The other method is by leveling up your Beast Companion. Every Level-up will give you 1 extra life. Are you happy now?]

"Absolutely!" Wayne nodded his head in delight. He quickly added, "So, when do we start!"

[Grrrr!]

"What?" Wayne felt confused. What did he just do wrong for Gaia to get angry at him?

[Answer the question in front of you!]

"Oh..." Wayne finally remembered that there was actually still a panel with a question and two choices right in front of him.

Without wasting any time, Wayne clicked 'Yes'.

Fighting against a Level 1 Wind Song Parrot is a much better choice compared to risk on a chance of looking for another Magical Beast which might just end up landing on a powerful Magical Beast.

If that indeed happened, not to mention having 3 lives, even if he has an infinite amount of lives, he'd still not chose to accept that and would rather choose to just completely kill himself. After all, there's no telling whether he would still experience the pain of death or not after dying even with an additional lives, considering that this is still reality nonetheless.

Honestly, he's even already screaming in pain while only getting an injection. How much more experiencing the pain of dying through a Magical Beast.

He's one hundred percent sure that it would definitely be the most painful experience that he could ever imagine in his entire life.

Author’s note:

The pain of death? Hmmm... I also wonder how it would feel like, HAHAHAHA just kidding though.

HAVE A HAPPY READING!
