3 Of Dreams and Reality pt.1

Now we're back to the start of this again. The blindingly bright light.

I think it was a flash bang that went off next to me, the ringing in my ears told me that. I wasn't sure what hit me in the back of the head, perhaps it was the same thing that had hit that persons arm. I don't remember anything happening after that.

I fell down, but I didn't hit pavement. In fact I still feel like I'm falling, or am I floating? I can only assume I got knocked out, and now I'm in some brain damage induced dream. I'm not very surprised, head trauma is no joke. As I float body-less, I hear a loud voice above me, or in front of me, all around me?

"Hello Child of Man" the voice sounded like a deep rumble, I could feel it reverberate in my non-body.

"Who's there? Who are you? Why is it so damn bright?!" I'm yelling at voices in the great shiny beyond now. This is fine since it's a dream though right? The voice made a grunting sound, most likely a comment on my attitude.

"Yes, of course introductions are in order, but first. it may be more comfortable to speak in physical form."

There was a pause and I felt an odd sensation. The odd part, came from being able to feel sensations. I felt my body hit solid ground, and air come back to my lungs. I gasped and realized I could hear and make sounds again instead of just mentally shouting into the void. I looked at my hands, yep, they were hands. Distracted by my own hands, I was abruptly brought back to attention by the sensation of hot air being blown in my direction. I looked up and fell back yelling.

"Holy SHIT!"

The thing blowing hot air at me was the snout of a massive dragon. It's head on it's own was the size of a jet fighter, it's neck stretched down like the largest roller coaster, and it's body was bigger than a condominium. It turned it's massive head and focused one shining blue eye on me. I could see my own reflection in it's irises.

"Do not fear child, I will not harm you."

The dragon didn't open its mouth when it talked, so I assume it was talking through my mind somehow. I wasn't scared, I was amazed. I mean, I knew I had hyper realistic dreams that bordered the limits of the human mind, but this really took the cake.

I have to elaborate that I have always had very, very, vivid dreams ever since I was young. This is the first time I've ever conjured up a fully animated dragon, so it was very exciting. There was just one problem.

"Too big...." I stated flatly crossing my arms. I had to strain my neck just to look up at it, this was very inconvenient, so I wanted it to be smaller.

"Excuse me?"

"You're too big damnit'! Get smaller, like horse sized."

The dragon was taken aback by my command, but it complied regardless, shrinking down to the size of a large horse. Now that it was smaller it was so much easier for me to get a better look at it in detail.

I didn't know when I would wake up so I wanted to imprint this image into my mind. I walked right up to it and trailed my hand over the platinum white scales. I was so engrossed in the smoothness of its body that I didn't even notice its flustered expression.

"So then, child of man-"

"Mar.."

"Mar?"

"That's my name."

Once again the dragon let out an exasperated sigh, but it could see that I was dead set on being called Mar, and nothing else.

I never cared for my birth name so I found this to be a good opportunity to change it to something else.

"Very well... Mar... I suppose formalities should be pushed aside, after all I was the one who brought you here. I am what you would call a 'god'."

I'm sorry what?

I stopped caressing the dragons wings and looked up at its face.

" A god? Like, what kind of god?"

This is an interesting plot that my dream had taken. I wonder if this is like one of those 'isekai' things I'm always reading about.

"Yes, in your world I am known as Bahamut."
