Master (2)

The one who might be my future master, was called Nian.

No last name.

Coming from origins that the man declined to answer about, I could infer from past world knowledge that he most likely had an eastern background.

Although it could be different in this world, the only comparison I had was the Ninjas from the eastern part of the world.

Nian, if that was even his real name, was a ninja that was according to this worlds standards was an expert, or in other words an A rank being.

His achievements included destroying an entire force of Demonic Knights by himself, Cutting through an army of soldiers attacking the city he was in and the final one.

Literally slicing through the skies and stopping a typhoon that would decimate the land.

Thus, the man in front of me named Nian was dubbed by people who have been the witnesses of his achievements.

The Sky's Cutter.

Though the man downplayed his achievements, the Elf.

Who I now found out was called Exyl.

Refuted the man while dismissing the downplaying of events.

I wasn't sure whether Exyl exaggerated things or not or Nian underestimated his own prowess.

But I was sure of one thing.

This man.

Was strong.

So I was ok with this guy being my master.

And just like that.

I was his student.

---

I found out a few things today.

After making a promise to come to meet him later on in the day so that he could set up the training grounds.

I returned to the city and made a promise to meet with the people who were the ones who literally pulled me out of the darkness.

"We'll see you again later!"

Waving goodbye to the three women.

I left the city.

But I couldn't help but feel a tingle in my neck that I was missing something.

But it wasn't urgent so ignored it.

I probably would return to it later when I had the time, so for now...

Returning to meet the Ninja, he brought me to the training grounds and smiled underneath his mask.

Their eyes turned into upward crescents as they pointed at the pillars.

"The First thing on the Training Regime, get on those pillars and dodge my blows"

"... What?"

That day I learned.

The Ninja who was rather Jovial was...

A Harsh instructor.

Slamming their sheath onto my slightly slumping back and hitting my chest to balance me at the same time.

I hurriedly balanced myself on top of the tall wooden pillar as I tried to make sure I didn't fall off due to the light winds.

"I learnt that to understand the wind! You must become as light as it!"

Sweat poured down my head as I tried to dodge the man's movements on top of the tall wooden pillars where the slightest mistake could lead to a fall.

Jumping in the air to dodge a sweep at my legs I landed at a nearby pillar.

Only for me to lose my footing and nearly topple down the tall pillar where the fall although wouldn't kill me, would most definitely hurt like hell.

The Ninja's training regime was as followed.

"Become like a nimble Fox and Lighten your steps! Make your steps Light and Silent!"

He trained me to become as light as a feather and to run across the ground like the silent fox, one that was unseen and couldn't be touched in the thick brush of the forest.

Ignoring all forms of obstacles to hunt down it's prey, the fox slipped through the woods.

"Become like the wind and fly through the sky! Use the smallest of platforms to propel yourself through the air!"

This training was one that I hated the most.

My feet jumped up from the leaves and pushed me through the air as I basically flew across the air.

Having to practice using the smallest of platforms that basically consisted of one centimeter thick boards as my platform was torture.

I learnt it much faster than both me and the Ninja thought I would, but perhaps my sync rate going up had something to do with it.

[Dead Cells - 30%]

A 10% jump wasn't something I expected in the slightest.

But nevertheless.

All it did was make my training slightly easier as I could now actually double jump in the air.

"To use the Air Cutter! You must learn to cut through air!"

This one...

He said I had to continuously slice the air itself so that your attacks could travel through the air.

And although I think I got it as he was basically saying to make my attack fly through the air by splitting the air.

Theory and application were two very different things.

But at the end of the day under the not so great encouragement of my new master.

I didn't master the art of what the Ninja called the 'Wind Blade'.

Which was akin to the Aura blades that I once saw a man use before to cut apart a group of Goblins during the Goblin Invasion.

But this technique unlike the Aura blade literally only worked with physical strength.

So practicing this technique under the beratement of my master constantly after having mastered the basics of both techniques.

The Double jump being one I completely mastered much to the surprise of the man.

The Silent Steps following in close proximity.

So you could tell that in the middle of the night.

The Waning moon soon became the full moon as it climbed up the sky and tried to reach the skies apex.

The Only company I had in the dead of night was the my surroundings as my master had left to do something while the elves who I presumed to be his students had also left to do their own thing after visiting me once in a while to leave food.

The Wind whistled quietly in the wind as only the slightest of breezes unlike the constant winds which threatened to push me off from my high altitudes caressed my skin.

The sounds of nightlife rang in my ears as my heart pumped the red blood through my veins.

Swinging the shining blade in the night under the moon like an idiot despite the stillness was me.

I don't know why my instinct rang inside my chest and compelled me to move as so, thus making me embark on this perilous training.

But so far...

I didn't regret it.

Enjoyment of the silence rang inside of my mind as I continued to swing the blade.

And right at the edges of my consciousness I felt something.

It was the wall between a normal swing of the blade, to the swing of a blade with the Air Cutter.

On any normal day, I would have tried to break through the wall with force and would increase the strength of my blows.

But today?

I felt no need to do so and just my blade become sharper.

It was a feeling that was hard to explain as I metaphorically made the blade all the stronger instead of making my body scream at the exertion.

And under the moonlight of the night sky.

On the official end of the day where the full moon reached the peak in all of it's glory.

At the end of the 50th day I have spent in this world.

I sliced through the air.

---

"What is this talent that you are so eager to show me to you Black Rabbit?"

The Ninja clothed man rolled their eye from underneath their mask and replied in kind to the towering giant of a man.

"Well, you Dumb Ape if you aren't so impatient I can tell you"

Pointing at the space in front of them in the middle of the woods, the Ninja continued.

"My Disciple is right through this path"
