8 Apparently I am Immortal?

"Woah!"

Gasping for air I immediately sprung up from the ground.

Instinctively groped my head and felt my head for any wounds.

I let out a gasp of relief upon feeling none of the wounds I expected to have.

Shivering on the ground, I faintly recalled the chilling coldness of death that I briefly greeted.

And after huddling on the ground and shivering like a newborn fawn, I slowly gathered my bearings and realized what had happened.

I had respawned.

Maybe

As someone who came in contact with videogames, a respawn function which was found in a majority of games was needed to continue the games otherwise all the progress would have to be reset.

And although I felt the phantom pain linger on my body, all it did was tell me was that I was indeed alive.

But the question right now was...

Where the hell was I?

I was still in the same attire but my hair was now burning a solid black.

Which was a very confusing feeling as when I touched the flames with my hands they didn't harm me.

Touching the walls of the cave which were lit by my hair I felt them over.

Feeling the cold damp touch of stone on my skin I utilized my numerous adventuring experience and looked upwards.

Somehow I had found myself in an underwater cave most probably...

Tasting the salty water which slowly dripped from the cave walls I concluded.

The ocean somehow???

Blinking at how I somehow arrived in undeterminable terrain most definitely Inaccessible for the normal human being.

I got up from the ground and acknowledged that I was now somewhat inhuman due to the blessing of the God of fun and games.

From what I recall Minecraft players were from a race called Builders, Terraria players had the Chosen one, Dead cells had a homunculus.

Dragging my fingers across the wall I separated from it and began practicing my movements to get rid of the awkwardness.

A glaring flaw I found out when I was in the middle of a fight.

I was wholly unprepared for bloody battle.

Because to no one 's surprise I had no weapons but a pickaxe, sword and axe, the basic terrarian... starter pack.

Pausing as things clicked in my mind I popped my mouth and grabbed my pickaxe.

If I'm going to get used to my new body vastly different from my own, I might as well make some progress and just keep whatever I may find inside of my inventory.

So I began to mine.

Slamming the pickaxe into the wall repeatedly did wonders for my awkwardness and the phantom pain.

And since there was no outward stimulation to be had for my mind.

I slowly acclimated myself to the only thing that there was to do.

Mine.

And before I knew it.

The initial awkwardness of the new highly capable physical body I had been granted slowly seeped away and I felt that I was now... better at using my body if that even made sense.

And just like that I only returned from my trance when I broke through a wall.

Honestly surprised I hadn't been buried by now.

Splatch splatch splatch.

Perking up at the sounds which sounded like someone was throwing slime onto the ground and picking it up only to throw it the ground again.

I quickly collected all the stone and put it into my incredibly filled inventory which had three stacks of 999 and one nearly reaching it.

Hurrying forwards I saw several slimes bouncing up and down in front of me through the cracks of stalagmites and stalactites.

"Well then"

Peeking out from the rocky outcropping I just as quickly disappeared behind it.

Letting the slime heading my way smash through the wall.

Dodging it I quickly brought out my sword.

And maybe the slime sensed my intentions.

But the several kilo'd monstrosity jumped upwards and slammed into the ground bouncing it's way towards me.

Which All I did was smirk in response and think outside of the box of game limits.

Using my mental strength I brought out blocks of stone before trapping the little cretin within.

Using the time when the slime was in the midst of falling I just made three walls where the slime was.

When the slime inevitably slammed into the wall and cracked a bit of the wall causing a sweat drop to fall.

I went to the other side and trapped it.

Smiling at how well it worked I used my pickaxe and dug a small hole.

Holding my sword I stabbed forwards several times at the small hole poking at the giant slime which was maybe half my size.

Crouching I just stabbed the poor slime violating it with a poky stick.

Although the slime tried to retaliate.

When you are literally a slime in the shape of a blob of... goo that is round.

There is really no way to retaliate unless you have space.

So besides jumping and creating trembles in the ground it could do nothing but make noise...

Hearing the cracking noise and the slimy noise I realized.

There was indeed one thing that the slime could do.

Call its buddies.

Seeing the army of slimes which consisted of several of dozen tons (1000 kilograms) weighted slimes and large cubic slimes double my height.

I decided to become smart once again and used my stone sitting inside my inventory.

Make a wall several blocks thick that reached the ceiling.

Hearing them thump at the wall even from the other side I made a few holes and stared at them throw the wall.

And only seeing a bunch of gooey colors slam into the wall I was very concerned.

With good reason.

Holding my copper sword which had dulled considerably since its use I sat down and stared at the wall with several loud thumping noises.

"So how do I do this?"

With my only source of light being the flames on my head I scratched my chin.

And after a while where things weren't connecting I just sighed.

"If there is no point in fighting the slimes I might as well..."

Turning around with the desire to explore I turned around again.

"I should kill the little bastard that called his friends here"

---

Walking away with light steps and peering into my inventory that showed the handful of slime in it which was much more than I thought.

Exploring the cave took little time as in the first place it was made with an artificial connection in the first place.

And I wasn't walking down the incredibly long hallway.

Sitting down I just placed the gel onto the ground and stared at it.

Before thinking for a bit.

As something clicked in my brain I just grabbed my copper sword and began to stop thinking about only terrarian functions and dead cells functions.

Opening my crafting menu and seeing the nostalgic screen appear I realized what I was thinking wouldn't work.

Because I needed wood for any of them to work.

And sadly I died before getting it.

Sighing I adjusted myself and thought about whether I should try to kill all the slimes very quickly by letting in a few at a time.

I laid down.

And the pile of gel besides me suddenly was set alight.

Seeing that my flaming hair which provided some form of light actually burned things.

The cogs of my tired brain which was overwhelmed since day one slowly turned.

Having an Idea I decided to sleep first.

---

It seems you are adjusting much better than I expected...
