5 The Meeting

[3rd Person POV]

Steve slowly returned to consciousness, he began to notice a soft warmth on his face. His ears picked up the sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the wind. He opened his eyes slowly, the blue/purple orbs gazing out at the new world around him.

Steve sat with his back against a tree, looking out into a small clearing. All around him he could hear the sounds of a forest coming to life. A soft morning light filtered through the trees and bathed his face in a warm glow.

Suddenly, the System popped up as the Miner look at it.

"?" He looked at it with confusion.

Steve said in understand as he already used to it. So he decided to see what the New Update System first.

Steve looked in confusion at his Level that is "Level 9 (?)" while his Parameter only show "SSS- ???".

'Is the System can't update my Status because I'm too strong?"'

Steve thought as he shook his head to clear his thought. He need to fully understand this new System

Steve browsing through the Inventory as all of his Item been sorted into categories except Armors, Weapons and Tools. To add more, the God of Game had been honest when he said he would make sure all of his Item was stored within.

As he looked through the contents, he feel grateful that he had restock on his smithing and alchemy supplies while living on the Minecraft World.

Despite he still had plenty of potions, weapons and armors in the Inventory, it better to be well prepare as he never know when he gonna running low on potions or when he need a materials to repair his weapons and armors. Hopefully this supplies can hold for the time being.

Steve feel grateful once more as his Skills not been reset or he need to start over again even though he don't mind it.

He has shed blood, sweat and tears doing all the job to MAX out his Skills for a better survivalbility.

But sometime, he will use his Magic to help him in daily basic from Farming, Smithing and more.

Steve blinked and looked at the number of Valis he has with confused look as if he remember correctly, is not the Tet said that he will converted his Emeralds to this world's currency. So why...

"This is more then I have though."

Steve's has over few hundred million Emeralds, so he thought that maybe he will get the same amount as how much Emeralds he has. But to received a lot than he expected is totally something.

After see the new System, he began to gear up as he bring his trusted Diamond Sword as he put it on it sheath and put it on his back. He also 4 types of Potion such as Potion of Strength, Healing, Swiftness and Resistance on his side.

"I think this will do."

Steve smile a little at this Achievement as it remind him to a certain anime.

A map suddenly appeared in the Miner hand as he open it reveales to be this world's map.

"Look like I know where to go now."

Thus, he began his new Journey to the City of Orarion in this new World of Genkai.

*Time Skip*

[3rd Person POV]

The past week had been one of the most relaxing walks Steve could remember. He'd cleared the forest before noon on the day of his arrival and had found a road that led in the right direction before nightfall. So far, he hadn't seen any other people, but he had walked past several forks in the road and a few obvious campsites for travelers. Even the few monsters he'd encountered were little more than pests, easily brushed aside with his strength.

Tet had said that the strongest opponents were to be found in the Dungeon, but they were still surprisingly weak. He not surprised at the crystals they dropped though. It become something common back in Minecraft World where Mobs drop loot after they died.

According to his map, he had started on the outskirts of the forest to the south of the Alv Mountains, near the coast, and there was practically nothing between him and the city of Orario save for a few small villages that were a bit off the beaten track. Because of how empty his path seemed to be; he was honestly surprised to hear the sound of fighting as he crested a small hill. Looking into the shallow valley below him, he spotted what appeared to be a white-haired human girl, no older than 15, trying to fend off 3 goblins with a knife.

Steve take his bow from the Inventory and drew it, intending to help the girl but paused before he could fire. The girl had managed to kill one of the goblins. Surprisingly agile, the girl had managed to roll under the goblins club and bring her knife up and into its chest. Still, agile or not, the girl was obviously untrained and outmatched.

Steve drew back his bow and fired a quick shot into the eye of one of the 2 remaining goblins. The final goblin, distracted by the sudden death of its companion, was unable to react in time to stop the girl from knocking it over and plunging her knife into the goblins neck.

Half-jogging down the hill, Steve waved to the girl as she picked herself up off the ground.

"Hello there! Are you alright? They didn't get you, did they?" He asked tried make sure the girl is fine.

"No sir, just a few scrapes from rolling in the dirt."

The girl finally looked up, her red eyes widening and blush as she look at the Miner appearance.

"Awawawawa!" The girl started to has a blush on her face as she babbling incorrect words.

"Are you sure? Your face is red though." Steve asked upon see the girl blushing form.

"Y- Yes, I am fine" the girl said told Steve while still blushing.

"T- Thank you for your help, sir. I'm not sure I could have beaten them on my own. A- Are you an adventurer?" She asked.

"I suppose I am. The name's Steve, just Steve." Steve said, introduced himself to the girl.

"B- Bella, my name is Bella Cranel. Nice to meet you, Steve-san." The girl introduce herself shyly.

"It nice to meet you too, Bella-san." Steve said.

"What Familia are you a member of?" She asked.

"Well, for now at least, I suppose you could say I'm a member of the Tet Familia, at least until I get to Orario that is." Steve answer her.

"Are you looking to join a new Familia in the city Steve-san?" She asked again.

"I am indeed. What about you, Bella-san? What are you doing out in the middle of nowhere like this?" Steve confirmed the girl and decided to asked the girl back.

"W- Well, I just left my village. I'm headed to Orario to become an adventurer actually." Bella askee shyly.

That made Steve smile. If he and the girl were headed to the same place, they might as well stick together.

"Well then, if we're going to the same place, it makes sense that we should stick together. That is, if you don't mind traveling with an guy like me?"

"I- I don't mind thought. Instead, that would be wonderful, Steve-san! I didn't think I'd get to meet any real adventurers until I made it to the city." She said .

Steve collected Bella's bag and the stones the Goblins had dropped.

"No, I don't suppose you would, I doubt many adventurers would have much reason to be out here. What made you decide to be an adventurer anyway?" He said and asked again.

"My Grandpa! Before he died, he used to tell me amazing stories about adventurers and legendary heroes. I've wanted to be just like the heroes in the stories, ever since I was little." She told him.

"A hero, eh?" Steve said wryly.

To Steve, the girl seemed a bit naive and a bit too trusting. Oh, if he known that the girl right now may has developed a crush on him.

He supposed it wouldn't do much harm, but he was glad it was him the girl had met and not someone unscrupulous.

"Being a hero is not an easy thing to accomplish. Are you sure you're up for it?" Steve tried to confirmed it.

"I don't really know, but I have to try!" The girl with a confident tone.

"I see. You really such a brave girl are you, Bella-san?" He said with a smile much to the girl to blush.

"T- Thank you." Bella said while become shyly again.

The Girl spent the next few hours regaling Steve with the stories her grandfather had told her..

Overall, it seemed to Steve that the girl's grandfather had been a kind man, if a little perverted. Though why the man teached the Girl how to flirt with boys and girls was a mystery to him.

They made camp just before the sun went down. Steve want to use his Skill to create a makeshift place but the Girl presence stop him as he still not ready to tell her about his true ability. As they sat around the fire, eating the remains of a deer Steve had caught a couple days before, the Girl asked

"So, why are you looking for a new Familia, Steve-kun? Did yours not want to move to the city?" Bella asked.

"No, that's not really the case. I was Tet's only true follower, and he is no longer present in this world. I'm headed to Orario to as he request despite I don't want to." He told her.

"...Why?" She asked.

"You see, Bella-san. I am much stronger than most adventurers who live outside the city. I am also much older than I look, thanks to a quirk of my biology. I'm headed to the city most of the part to find a Familia, training new adventurers or maybe open a shop." He told her

"I see."

The Girl said but she then remember something that the Miner said.

"Training new adventures? You mean like me?"

"Yes Bella-san, like you. In fact, I wouldn't mind giving you a few tips while we travel. Give you a bit of a head start on what you need to learn." He said with a chuckle as he know what will happen next.

The Girl excitedly scrambled to grab her dagger as she can't wait to train with Steve.
