7 Class

"Fuck.." Jace felt like an idiot. He sat in his first class of the semester, trying to appear calm. His leg bounced under the table.

"I swear there's an omega in here, Kyle. I'm not kidding," seconds ago, this guy walked into the room and loudly declared he could smell an omega.

"Adrian, you've got to be on something. There's nothing but alpha and beta pheromones in here. Besides, do any of them look like omegas to you?" The person next to him apparently didn't have the same senses.

The one called Adrian was an alpha. The other three were betas. Jace knew firsthand how most people treated omegas, so he decided that he would be hiding his gender from his classmates in college. He used pheromone blockers to make himself appear as an alpha. After all, that's what he knew best. His athletic appearance was unaffected by his secondary gender presentation, so people hadn't questioned it yet. It helped that there weren't many people with senses strong enough to catch natural scents under blockers, but he was still paranoid.

A girl walked in behind them with very obvious omega pheromones.

"Ah, see I told you. She was in the hallway," Kyle said.

"I don't know. It was different than hers. I swear they were coming from inside this room," Adrian sat near the entrance and crossed his arms.

"Nice perfume you got there, sweetheart."

"Shut up, Kyle."

Jace was an accounting major. He wanted something simple and versatile, and out of all the subjects he'd been failing in highschool, he failed math the least. Unfortunately, his first class of the semester was a photography class that he chose to take only because an art class was required and he thought photography would be the easiest.

There was a wide variety of people there. It seemed like a bunch of the first years had the same idea. Jace sat next to a girl with curly blonde hair and a green hoodie, "I'm Charlotte, what's your name? Are you a freshman too?"

"Jace, and yeah, I'm majoring in accounting."

"Accounting? You're kidding. Aren't you an alpha? You don't look like an accountant to me," Charlotte laughed, looking Jace over, "You look more like a P.E. teacher than anything."

"I don't know whether that's a compliment or an insult, but yes, I'm an alpha, and no, I'm not kidding," he replied. He could feel eyes boring into the back of his head, but he didn't have the confidence to turn towards them.

"I guess it can be both," she smiled, "I'm going into education, but I haven't decided what kind yet."

"Hello students! How are we this lovely morning?" the professor walked in and the chatter fizzled out.

After the class ended, Jace headed for the dining hall. In front of him was the group that was in his class earlier. He backed away, hoping to avoid the nose of the alpha in the group, and the rather strong pheromones he was giving off.

"Hey Jace!" it was Jaime and Zach, the two of them were third years this year, "How was your first class?"

"It wasn't anything special," Jace replied, falling into step with them, "Where are you guys coming from?"

"We were just meeting with some of the other guys in our major. They're wanting to through a welcome party tonight," said Jaime.

"Are you going?" asked Jace.

"Fuck yeah, we are," replied Zach, "The welcome parties are the wildest nights of the year. I can't miss the reactions of the newbies either."

"I don't know about that. I'm not the party type. I'll probably stay home," said Jaime.

"What? Well, whatever, do you want to come then Jace?"

"Of course, I do. I can't remember the last time I went to a real party."

"Are you sure? Isn't your heat coming up?" asked Jaime.

"It's fine. It's not for another few days, and I pass as an alpha with a few pills anyway."

"But Kylie said.."

Zach interrupted him, "Who cares what Kylie said? He'll be fine. I'll keep an eye on him. It's not like he can't fend for himself either. Carter or I'll call you beforehand to let you know where it's at, okay?"

"Okay," Jace said. Jaime was still fidgeting, but Jace needed to let off some steam. Being cooped up in the omega housing for months hadn't given him many opportunities, and he hadn't been to a barty since he first left home.
