51 51. Guardian Angel

Kyouka gazed at the mesmerizing Sakura blossoms as she held onto her daughter tremblingly.

She gazed at the person standing in front of her, she couldn't see his face due to his back being turned towards her. But that broad back seemed to give her a sense of reassurance.

Everyone loves the story of the Guardian Angel, even if Kyouka had given up hope she too in the back of her mind wished for a miracle to happen.

She wished for someone to save her...

She wished for a Guardian Angel and it seems… maybe her wish came true after all...

...

Itsuki stood in front of Kyouka separating her from the mob, he had intended to shred them with Senbonzakura but at the last moment, he decided to attack the ground creating a gorge separating him and the mob.

Itsuki stared blankly at the trembling mob in front of him, he could see them trembling as his gaze moved through them.

They were just normal people, should he slaughter them? It's easy for him to do so, but he took a deep breath and gazed at Kyouka who was looking at him with a myriad of emotions in her eyes.

Itsuki created a shadow clone and planned to escort her back to the Senju clan compound...

Kyouka was a little fearful as she held onto her daughter tightly as the unknown shinobi's clone approached her.

Although this person saved her she didn't know if he had bad intentions, she only wished he would spare her daughter and he could do whatever he wanted with her.

Although this person was wearing a Black Oni mask concealing his face she could feel his warm gaze making her calm down a little bit.

"Miss please come with me, the Boss will take care of everything" Kyouka could only nod as she held the hand that was extended to her.

She was a little confused when the other party told her to be ready and before she knew it she felt her vision morph and when she came back to it she was in an unknown courtyard of a huge mansion.

Kyouka was dumbfounded… Where was she?

Itsuki was relieved when he received feedback from his clone cancelling itself. After taking a deep breath he gazed at these vermin.

He could hear them whispering 'Monster', 'Devil', or some giving courage to others saying he is just one person let's go together and we can kill him.

Itsuki understood that these people were both idiotic and ignorant.

He wished to kill them but he also was afraid of becoming someone who didn't value life, he wanted to become a person whom his daughters would be proud of.

While Itsuki was struggling with his morals, the tattoo of the clock on his hand materialized as it glowed a little before vanishing.

A shadow started expanding from beneath his feet as dark mist swirled around until it materialized into an enchanting beauty leaving the villagers scared.

Itsuki felt the familiar warm embrace as he calmed down a little.

Kurumi hugged her master from behind as she gazed at the villagers in front of her who cowered under her gaze as they felt like they were being gazed at by something inhumane.

Kurumi laid her head on his shoulder as she wrapped her hands around his neck.

"Master~ Let's slaughter them all~" Kurumi whispered in his ear and she could feel him stiffening a little.

She could understand, the people he had killed before were either bandits or scum who deserved it but this time the people in front of him were just ordinary civilians.

But from what Kurumi witnessed they don't seem like just ordinary civilians at all, if her master were not here she could only imagine the fate that would befall the mother and daughter.

Due to their contract, Kurumi can share vision with Itsuki whenever she feels like it, he could block it but he chose to trust her. Thus she could also see and feel her master's emotions to a certain extent. Although she says she wants to devour him, she can't due to the contract.

"Master, they were prepared to take a life so they should be prepared to lose it too!" When she said those words, Itsuki could also feel himself wavering.

Kurumi could feel he was wavering and just needed a little push, she understood he didn't need to kill these people, and doing so wouldn't change much, As he was strong enough to ignore them but Kurumi felt this wasn't right.

A person who could raise their arms against a child is just scum, and it's better for scum to not exist.

"Imagine what would have happened to that woman if you hadn't arrived, look at them! death would have been a mercy to her…" Kurumi whispered into his ears and finally, Itsuki took a deep breath.

He can't treat this world as his own, even if he wants to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. Sometimes he might have to cleanse the filth.

That is why he didn't kill those Jounin who were guarding Yugito, but he didn't know that Kurumi had already devoured them.

And gazing at these people in front of him Itsuki felt he couldn't change them or reason with them.

They might be afraid of him now but they truly won't change.

They were truly blinded by their hate that they had become animals.

Itsuki opened his eyes as his gaze became a tad bit colder.

"Fine. I'll do it myself"

He is a person from modern Earth, so his values might be a bit different.

He is not a hot-blooded teenager but a young man. To him killing bandits is acceptable and killing the Kusagakure people did leave a scar on his mind. He is a father with daughters, and although adopted the bond isn't superficial.

He worries about becoming an emotionless killer and losing some of the values and morals he has.

Kurumi here is subtly manipulating him to the dark side cuz they have… Cookies!
