3 3. Getting Married (Rewrite)

" Kushina calm down! I'm doing this for your own good, I couldn't just sit back and watch Naruko growing up without a father" Hiruzen tried to come up with a reasonable explanation.

"Humph! Sandaime you don't have to worry about Naruko, I'm perfectly capable of raising my child on my own " Kushina snorted coldly.

" Haah! I really didn't want to say this but recently we have received intel regarding the masked man and he is more than likely to attack the village, So for both of your safety I have to do this. Don't worry your marriage is only a formality and if Itsuki tries something I'll take care of him" Hiruzen really tried but even after brainstorming he really couldn't give a reasonable explanation so he opted to give one that even a child wouldn't believe.

What protection can a civilian provide? And will Itsuki really have the balls to do something to this woman? If he values his life he won't.

Hearing Hiruzens's words Kushina grits her teeth in frustration and anger, what kind of bullshit was this old man spouting, did he really think she was some little child or his idiotic disciple Jiraiya who he can fool with these stupid lies.

Kushina felt despair at the gravity of her situation, Minato was her protective umbrella who was shielding her from the village's darkness now he's gone leaving her in a very precarious position.

'Minato you fool' Kushina couldn't help but show a sad smile while thinking about her husband, it seemed he put too much faith in these old men. 

Are these the people who he wanted to protect? Kushina felt despair at the thought, If she was alone she wouldn't have cared, but she also had to worry about Naruko now. Kushina could only swallow her grievances and accept.

" I-Is It really true"

Kushina asked through gritted teeth, she knew the old man was talking bullshit, but she couldn't do anything as Kushina realized how alone she was in this village.

What masked man? Such a powerful adversary is something that can be solved by marrying a civilian. She was pretty sure the old man wanted to keep tabs on her. She felt more furious as she thought about it.

"Kushina do I still need to lie to you? " Hiruzen said in a sad tone.

"Tomorrow you should move into Itsuki's house, as for your old house it's already demolished, you can visit it later to see if you can salvage something"

" Sandaime if I find out you are planning something against Naruko or me, I will make you regret it " Kushina said through gritted teeth, as she was powerless to do anything and could only make an empty threat.

If a fake marriage is what it takes to protect her baby, then be it.

For Naruko, she could only compromise.

'Minato forgive me' Kushina felt endless guilt in her heart.

" I will no longer be disturbing your rest, I will come tomorrow to escort you" Hiruzen said in a complicated tone and left the room...

Hiruzen was standing outside the room listening to the sobs coming from inside.

He felt endless shame and sadness but he still steeled his heart as he felt this was the best.

He felt this was the best way for him to repay Shun and Kaede.

Kushina's suppressed sobs emanated in the room as she was trying her best to suppress them as she didn't want Naruko to wake up.

"Kushina what's wrong " a concerned voice echoed from the entrance of the room.

" *Sob* Mikoto I'm being forced to remarry ..." Kushina started pouring out all her grievances while embracing the raven-haired woman...

....

"H-He...how could he do this? I'll go give him a piece of my mind, don't worry I will do everything I can to stop this " Mikoto was trembling in rage as she listened to Kushina. 

She couldn't understand how the Hokage could do this to Minato and Kushina.

"M-Mikoto ...please stop ....I have already agreed " Kushina said with a sad smile while wiping her tears.

" Kushina! Are you crazy!" Mikoto couldn't help but exclaim a little at Kushina's actions.

"Mikoto It's all for Naruko, If not then what is the point of me living" Kushina said with a beautiful smile, one which seemed to contain endless sadness...

The next day ...

....

Itsuki has already cleaned the house and even renovated the rooms for Naruko and Kushina.

"I wonder when they would arrive" Itsuki couldn't help but question as he waited at the entrance of his house.

Itsuki was really surprised to know that Kushina had a daughter instead of a son, is this the butterfly effect? Maybe many things will be different, Itsuki felt a little apprehensive about the future.

Itsuki would be lying if he said he wasn't excited, he was going to meet his favorite 'Waifu'.

"Itsuki I brought Kushina over as promised, " Hiruzen said with a kind smile as a beautiful red-haired woman wearing a black kimono walked behind him, she was holding a sleeping baby in her arms.

The woman had a frosty expression on her face.

"Sandaime-sama sorry for bothering you" Itsuki thanked Hiruzen with a smile.

" It's ok, I have already registered your marriage in the records, and starting from today both of you will be husband and wife" Hiruzen said in a warm tone.

" Sandaime-sama don't worry, I will do my best to take care of Kushina-san and Naruko" Itsuki said in a serious tone but he shivered a little when he felt a cold gaze on him.

'Killing Intent!' Itsuki was baffled, he just wanted to be polite but didn't expect this woman to have murderous intentions.

His back was drenched in cold sweat as he met Kushina's cold gaze.

Hiruzen who was on the side chose this as an opportunity to wisely take his leave...

"Humph!" Kushina coldly snorted and carried Naruto into the house.

A cold beauty wasn't as fun as he imagined, if you don't have strength you might get frozen.

*Sigh* Itsuki sighed wearily.

It seemed he was in for a world of trouble...

....

"Kushina-san this is your room and that is Naruko-chan's room, I live next door to you. If you have any need feel free to come find me

" Itsuki warmly introduced the room to her.

*Bang!*

As a result, she didn't even bother acknowledging his presence and walked into the room closing it behind her.

"Haah, this might take a while" Itsuki let out a tired sigh as he mumbled in a helpless tone...
